Overall, the location of this rental was very good. The 2nd floor unit was in the back of a lovely Charleston home. The dual-purpose Keurig was convenient as was the retro fridge/freezer. While it served its purpose, the owners might consider upgrading some kitchen/bath finishes given the price point. Fake tile floors and backsplash; rust on the vintage sink; dead plant high up on the kitchen cabinet, no place to hang clothes or set a suitcase in the bedroom (makeshift hanging rod in living room); no rheostat on the BR ceiling fan; tiny bathroom sink. Lastly, the screen door was torn and the entrance stairs needed power washing.

The stay was everything I could’ve dreamed of and better! Evan was amazing and helped with any questions we needed about Charleston and/or the property. The house was so charming and a perfect walk to everything in the heart of Charleston! I will definitely be staying here next time I am back in Charleston!

This proprty is perfect for a couple. We had a wonderful experience. The Brown Dog Deli around the corner was our go to place. It also was a good spot for our dog as there is a park right across the street. Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Lily’s Pad in Charleston! The place was very cute, cozy, and quiet—exactly what we were looking for. We loved being able to bring our pup along, and having a park right across the street made walking him especially enjoyable. The location was perfect: close enough to downtown to explore easily, while still being in a quiet part of town. Evan was a great host—very informative throughout the trip and always available if we needed anything. We were very content staying at this cute little pad and would happily stay here again.

Convenient pet-friendly location! We walked everywhere in the historic district from here with no issues. It was nice to have a yard to take our dog out, and there is a park across the street where people bring dogs to play. Parking in this area has a lot of rules, but the host clarified everything and we had no issues. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay. The host was very helpful. I am a prior VRBO host so forgive me if I am a little too picky. We had a beautifully landscaped pool & Jacuzzi home on Florida's West Coast (Cape Coral) with clients that returned each year. We kept our home in impeccable condition. I would expect any other VRBO host to do the same. The apartment is located in an historic old home in a beautiful neighborhood across the street from a city park and a short walk to Colonial Lake. The faults I found in the interior of the property were few: the very small shower (it is a very small bathroom), the broken wand for the Venetian blind in the living room, and bedroom pillows that were not comfortable. There were plenty of books, magazines, and visitor information, The kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparation. Cleanliness was excellent. The internet connection was good. The exterior was found lacking due to the windows being dirty and cob webs being present. The back yard is nice, but there was no lawn furniture where we could have enjoyed a drink or a cup of coffee in the morning.

Stayed during College of Charleston move-in weekend. We absolutely loved our stay at Lily’s Pad on Rutledge! Cozy, spotless, and full of Charleston charm—felt like a sweet little hideaway in the heart of the city. The bed was as comfy as a porch swing on a sunny afternoon, and the host made everything easy and welcoming. Y’all, this place is a gem!

It is definitely a 15-20 mins walk to get to anything bustling. The communication was excellent and it was decently clean but honestly we over paid at 500 a day. The space is quite small. Don’t go by the photo of the big house, you stay in a small pad behind that house. Everything has a fee. We requested an early checking coz our flight was very early and they said they will let us know. And finally on the day of our checking they said we could check-in early for 30/hour. We find many bnb hosts give an hour or two early check-in as courtesy if the property is ready. But we never heard back from them after asking for courtesy check-in. I found that not to be the best experience. We had a car with us, and we only got a valid temporary resident parking permit on the second half of our last day. We ended up using old a parking permit in the hope that it would work. The washbasin has major stains and even tho it’s supposed to be clean, it was a displeasing sight in the middle of the house. Be aware that there is no dishwasher. And they take additional fee for handling check out instructions / like turning off lights, doing dishes, cleaning out personal item from fridge, putting towels on the floor. Finally we found our selves mostly with blinds down coz it’s easy to peep inside this pad. Over all, if you plan to stay mostly out and about, then this is a decent place.

Great location that is very walkable to many areas in the city. Host provides a parking pass that allows you to park anywhere in zone C - which makes it easy to park near the unit and also to drive and park to nearby spots. Communication with the host was good with clear check-in/checkout instructions and the host even texted us when there was some flooding on the street (happens occasionally in Charleston) and directing us where to park. We didn't spend a lot of time inside, honestly, but the bed was comfortable and kitchen had essentials. I think the look is true to the pictures on the website. One small note - the bathroom and shower is really tiny, so be aware of that if you are a large person. Enjoyed our stay in Charleston!

Host tried to be helpful. Many issues that remained unresolved over 5 night stay. Examples: only light in kitchen out, TV has error screen rendering tv unwatchable, lack of heat - provided one space heater for entire unit, requested another and was provided next day, power then went out in bedroom so no heat and no space heater unless I moved to sleep on the couch. I asked for repairs on multiple days between 9am and 4pm as I would be out of the unit. Host messaged at 5pm that no one was available during my requested time. Additionally, don’t plan on taking a shower comfortably. I’m a normal sized 5’6” woman and barely had room to turn around in the shower. Can’t bend over to shave legs or will have half of body outside of shower. Key points:1. Don’t stay here when it is cold. 2. Don’t stay here if you want a decent shower. 3. Location felt safe, walkable, and unit has potential to be a great place if managed by a different company.

This host was horrible. When my fiance and I arrived at the VRBO. There was pet hair all over the bed. The was dirt and stains on the bedding. There were bugs in the house. The shower is EXTREMELY small. I am 5 foot and could barely shower comfortably. After going to dinner, we decided to that we could not comfortably sleep in a dirty listing. We had to book a hotel. I then reached out to VRBO for help. They told me to talk to the host. They were not accommodating and in-fact they blamed the pet hair on the nasty bedding on me (I never had a pet). DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY on this listing.
