Won't you be our neighbor - at least for a little while? This sunny, cheerful, thoughtfully-appointed home has everything you need for a short visit or a long stay in Arlington, VA. This home comfortably sleeps four, but can accommodate a crib as well. We love well-behaved pets, but we charge an additional cleaning fee just to make sure any future guests with allergies feel welcome, too.
The first floor features a living room, dining room and fully-appointed kitchen with dishes, coffee maker, toaster, and all new appliances, including a convection range (there are convection-compatible pots and pans ready to use). There are two bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor. The large bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, hand-made antique dresser and closet. The small bedroom includes a twin-sized daybed and a twin-sized trundle with a floating desk, tall dresser and closet. Washer, dryer and storage is available in an unfinished basement.
The property features off-street parking and a large front yard with a tree house, play area, raised-bed herb garden and lockable bike shed. There is a smaller fenced back/side yard with a pet- and pollinator-friendly garden. A picnic table is nestled under flowering trees with solar-powered string lights and easy access to the kitchen - perfect for outdoor dining.
Our quiet, tree-lined neighborhood is diverse, affirming, and kid-friendly. But we're also right around the corner from bustling Columbia Pike, with walkable access to schools, playgrounds/parks, library, shops, and restaurants.
We are close to the National Foreign Affairs Training Center (1.6 miles), Fort Myer (1.4 miles), the Pentagon (2.6 miles), Ballston Metro (2.1 miles) and Clarendon Metro (1.9 miles). Our street is on a dedicated "bike boulevard" and we have secure bike storage and a bike to lend. If biking's not your thing, there's regular bus service right around the corner to the Pentagon/Pentagon City, National Landing, Clarendon, and direct to downtown DC.
The home is filled with family heirlooms and pieces collected by us, our friends and our family during various international adventures. We've tried to be as ethical and climate-friendly as possible in updating and furnishing the house - and we're especially excited about the solar panels that are able to supply most of the electricity you'll use!
Your hosts live in the neighborhood and are available to address any issues or questions as they arise, or just to loan a cup of sugar or give a restaurant recommendation. We are so excited to welcome you!
