Our stay at Lake Murvaul was very nice. The cabin was lovely and the property is in a beautiful location The property manager was very helpful and responsive While we felt the property was great, it was lacking with regard to cleanliness inside and out. The issues were addressed and resolved, mostly. There were things that were not working (a porch ceiling fan/light and one side of the double sink in master bath was completely stopped up). There was also an ant problem in the kitchen and one bathroom. Those are things that should have been addressed prior to our stay. We did let them know and the owners were kind enough to refund a small amount for our inconvenience. That said, I felt that there should have been no problems for the amount we were paying. I expected there to be plenty of dishes, pots and pans, dish soap, cleaning supplies, etc. If we are to leave it clean, I felt there should have been supplies to clean with. Even the "inside" broom was locked away. The nearest place to purchase anything is 8 miles away at a Dollar general Store. I expected that we would bring our clothes and food and not have to purchase everyday items. This is a fabulous property, but I felt the owners could take a lot more care in its upkeep, especially for the price and the fact that it is advertised as a “Premier Host”. I expect a Premier Host will supply things like guest soaps and cleaning supplies and would take more care in the property upkeep/maintenance.
