Great location near the ocean and the river. Walkable everywhere. Easy to take the 500 bus to the city in 15 minutes. Quiet and quaint area with lots to do all around. Ariana was most pleasant and helpful in all aspects.

It is a very clean and comfortable apartment in an area that is convenient to walk to the beach or catch a bus or tram into the city.Ariana is a very helpful host and we had everything we needed for a self catered stay. We also ate at Pragar the restaurant at the bottom of the road and the food was very good. We had a very enjoyable stay in Porto and will come again!

We had a wonderful stay at this historic and beautiful apartment! Arianna was an incredible host who was so helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. She also helped with many great suggestions for Porto first timers. The neighborhood was perfect for what we were looking for and gave us a good feel for what it feels like to be a local! Beautiful apartment!

We had a great time visiting the area. The apartment is close to the water, supermarkets, and lots of nice restaurants. Ariana was a gracious host-provided everything we needed, including some nice snacks. The apartment is small but has large windows and lots of mirrors, and a great use of the space making it seem much larger. We were a group of four women and there was plenty of space for all of us! It is also decorated and furnished beautifully! We are so glad we chose to get out to a beautiful, quiet area of Porto.

Ariana did a very nice job of decorating. The master bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable. Casa Bela is located in a quieter area of Porto, but just a few minutes on the bus or taxi to the old town. We found several good restaurants within just a few minutes walk.

Our Second Stay

We love this property. The host, Ariana, is delightful and responsive. This is our second time staying here. We like the neighborhood (not so many tourists), the easy access to public transport, closeness to the beach and river, an artisanal bakery and organic food store nearby. This property was perfect for two couples, king size beds and lots of space. Amazing ceiling height, interesting architecture, and perfectly furnished for the space. While outside the downtown core (good for restful sleeps), a scenic tram, within easywalking distance, takes one right there. A small grocer is one block away, and the restaurant 5 doors down is well worth trying. Our host Ariana was very informative. All in all, an excellent experience!

Ariana is an exceptionally considerate host. I think that is why she gets 10/10 all the time. Her apartment is 100 years old but has been well kept. It is a classic early 1900s style reminiscent of much of Europe. Tall ceilings, big french doors etc. The second exceptional thing is that it is in a marvelous location of older porto, more quiet yet accessible to the river promenade, many wonderful restaurants etc. It is fortunately relatively distant from he downtown tourist crowd. There is a beautiful park next door, excellent for walking. The top 3 necessities ie. Bed, airconditioning and shower were 10/10. The shower is a tight fit for a larger person. Ariana was very responsive to any small issues. Definitely a good value. Perhaps the best thing was her referral for us to a car/driver service that allowed us to travel privately at reasonable cost around northern Portugal. He was amazing.

Super location, away from the crowds

Great little apartment, with a wonderful master bedroom complete with balcony, period features, and high ceilings. Situated in a shaded, typical Portuguese side street with plenty of character. The location is great - the Jardim do Passeio Alegre is a the bottom of the street, where there are two crazy golf courses, music, a café, and market stalls of food and crafts. My kids also spent a lot of time in the old-fashioned pursuit(!) of climbing trees. Foz has three shingle beaches, which are fine for sunbathing or paddling, but if you want a sandy beach, Matosinhos is only 3km up the coast. Its €2 on the 500 bus, or €4-5 in an Uber. We went there every other day. One day we hired bikes from Dourobike and cycled up there along the coast (cycle route the whole way). Then we cycled round the majestic Parque da Cidade. In Foz there are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores. The walk along the esplanade at the bottom of the Jardim do Passeio Alegre is glorious. For a trip into Porto centre, take the 500 bus (the other way), the vintage no. 1 tram (€3.50), or an Uber (€9-11). Ariana was a great host, answering my questions and giving good tips. The apartment had everything we needed (although an extra frying plan would be good), including a coffee machine. The second bedroom was a little dark, due to the natural light coming through the door from the next room, but it's only used for sleeping anyway. The master room has a day bed and a large rug, so we chilled in there or the lounge. Wifi was good. All in all, a great stay.

Schöne, idyllische Lage am Meer

Wir waren Ende Oktober für zwei Tage in dieser Wohnung und haben unseren Aufenthalt in Porto sehr genossen: - sehr gute Kommunikation im Vorfeld - sympathische und sehr hilfsbereite Vermieterin - die Wohnung entspricht der Beschreibung und ist sehr stylish, trendy und schön renoviert - bequeme Betten! - die Lage ist strategisch spitze: man ist in einer Minute an der Bushaltestelle - der Bus Linie 500 fährt ca. 15 Minuten bis zum Zentrum - und abends nach einem Stadttag kann man sich herrlich bei einem Spaziergang am Meer vom Trubel erholen - die Wohnung liegt an einer kleinen und engen Einbahnstraße, die meistens recht ruhig ist. Wenn allerdings abends oder nachts dort Autos durchfahren, ist dies deutlich, auch bei geschlossenem Fenster, im Schlafzimmer zu hören. Wer einen tiefen Schlaf hat und lärmunempfindlich ist, den wird es nicht stören. Wenn man allerdings lärmempfindlich ist und von zu Hause absolute Ruhe gewöhnt ist, ist die Nachtruhe schon etwas beeinträchtigt. Man kann allerdings auch in das zweite Schlafzimmer umziehen. Dieses ist mitten in der Wohnung gelegen, hat kein Fenster, ist dafür aber deutlich ruhiger. - um diese Jahreszeit war es in der Wohnung recht kühl und wir mussten schon etwas heizen; insbesondere das große Schlafzimmer war recht kalt, was im Sommer aber bestimmt ein großer Vorteil sein mag. Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt! Porto ist eine Reise wert und es war eine gute Entscheidung am Meer und nicht direkt in Porto zu wohnen.

the arrival was easy and uncomplicated. parking in the area was possible after the weekend. is an excellent location to visit Porto without staying in the center. transport from/to City is easy (tram/bus/taxi). dont miss to walk the area - nice! and also the connections to the beaches are easy. the place its self is fine - nothing to critisize.

großartiges Apartement- sehr nette Vermieterin

Wir waren mit unseren Töchtern im Juni 6 Tage in Porto . Die Entscheidung nicht direkt in der Innenstadt sondern in Foz da Duoro zu übernachten war hervorragend- Da das Wetter sehr schön war konnten wir morgens vor der Stadtbesichtigung einen Strandspaziergang machen oder nachmittags noch baden. Das Apartement ist sehr schön, liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sehr zu empfehlen

Un merveilleux séjour dans un cadre romantique. Un accueil chaleureux, nous avons été comblés!

Cet appartement est décoré avec un goût très prononcé pour les matières de l´art, meubles antiques et de grande valeur, parquets, revêtements au mur et au plafond de choix, accessoires modernes dans la cuisine, des détails qui ravissent les yeux et créent une ambiance agréable et confortable. On se sent comme chez soi. Endroit très calme avec vue sur le patio, à 10 minutes du centre en bus ou taxi (les taxis sont peu chers à Porto). Nous avons été accueillis comme des amis et avons pu à notre arrivée déguster un vin excellent avec un fromage typique du pays offerts par notre hôte, à la fois très charmante, serviable et discrète. Je recommande vivement cet appartement !

Schönes, ruhiges Apartment zwischen Douro und Ozean

In einer wirklich ziemlich ruhigen Seitenstraße liegt das kleine Haus mit dem Apartment im 1. Stock. Ariana ist eine sehr gute Gastgeberin und hat alles sehr gut vorbereitet; Wein und ein paar Knabbereien mit Käse und Marmelade standen bereit. Die Bilder der Wohnung entsprechen der Realität, allerdings würde ich nicht unbedingt empfehlen mit vier Erwachsenen zu kommen, gerade bei schlechtem Wetter würde es etwas eng. Und es fehlt das zweite Bad, denn es gibt nur eine extra Toilette. Der Masterbedroom mit Kronleuchter und Morgensonne ist neben dem Wintergarten der schönste Raum. Die Gegend ist sehr schön für einen ruhigen, entspannten Urlaub zwischen Douromündung und wildem Ozean. Mit dem 500er Bus ist man schnell in der City, allerdings ist der Bus relativ unzuverlässig, was auch die Einheimischen beklagen. Das achteckige Chalet Suisse um die Ecke ist ein wunderbarer Ort für frühen Kaffee bis zum nächtlichen Brandy. Unbedingt ein Fahrrad leihen und am Ozean entlang nach Norden fahren.

Wander in the intricate cobblestone streets with small town flavour. Jog or bike along the scenic waterfront. Have a swim or head for a surfing adventure in the beach. Take a romantic stroll in the 19th century Passeio Alegre park. Visit an exhibition at the Museum of Serralves and explore its wonderful gardens...
