Juniper Presents Wilder Woods: Pool, Fire Pit, Pickleball + More

Surrounded by mature trees on 1.25 acres in the Village of Michiana, Wilder Woods is a custom log home by Larry Booth of Booth Hansen. With handcrafted Maple Island logs, a Rumsford fireplace, and three finished levels, the home opens to a private backyard anchored by a heated pool, full cabana, hot tub, and sport court for pickleball and basketball. Screened porches and a firepit gathering area create an atmosphere that’s as welcoming outside as it is indoors.

THE SPACE
At the heart of the home, a dramatic great room is framed by exposed beams and a two-story stone fireplace. Oversized windows draw the landscape in, while deep sofas and rich textures make this a favorite space for both conversation and quiet. The adjacent kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances, dual dishwashers, and a wide island for meal prep and serving. A separate office with built-in shelving offers a private workspace. On the lower level, an entertainment lounge includes a classic Pac-Man game and casual seating for movie nights or card games.

Bedrooms are spread across all three floors, each with its own character and wooded views. From the primary suite to the bunk room below, the layout works well for families, multi-generational groups, or friends traveling together.

The home includes four full bathrooms and a powder room, each with distinctive stonework, natural wood vanities, and deep soaking tubs. A full laundry room on the lower level is smartly equipped with 2 washers and dryers, folding space, and custom cabinetry for extended stays.

Outside, the pool takes center stage. Set against a backdrop of hardwoods, the heated water, adjacent hot/cold shower, full cabana, and hot tub offer everything needed for a full day outdoors. The screened porch includes lounge seating and a large table for meals and games. A built-in stone grill makes cooking outdoors easy, while the fire pit adds a place to gather after dark. A sports court extends beneath the trees for pickleball, basketball, or open play.

Located in the charming Village of Michiana, Wilder Woods places you just a short walk or bike ride from the shores of Lake Michigan. Spend the day sunbathing or searching for beach glass along the quiet, tree-lined stretch of Stop 39 beach access. Venture into nearby New Buffalo for boutique shopping, art galleries, and dining hotspots like The Stray Dog, Beer Church, and David's Delicatessen. Wine lovers can explore the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, with favorites like Tabor Hill, Dablon, and Hickory Creek just a short drive away. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
To ensure a safe and compliant stay, all guests are required to complete identity verification prior to check-in. A valid government-issued photo ID will be collected and verified, and the name on the ID must match the credit card used for payment. When applicable, a background screening may also be required as part of the booking process.

All guests are required to review and sign Juniper Holiday + Home's Guest Occupancy Agreement prior to check-in. While we understand that events can affect your trip, it is our policy to stick to the agreed-upon cancellation policy in the listing. We recommend purchasing vacation travel insurance if you suspect you may need to cancel your reservation.

The minimum age to rent this home is 25.

The pool is seasonal and will be open from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day. Specific Open and closure dates are scheduled by the local pool vendor. The hot tub is currently not available and is scheduled to be replaced in the spring.

Pets are not allowed at this home.

A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver is included with your reservation. This waiver covers accidental damage or loss to the rental property caused by you or members of your party up to a maximum of $2,000. This plan does not cover intentional acts, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.

Out of respect for our staff and their families, we do not permit check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Thank you for your understanding.
