We are so happy we found this gem of a rental in Kernville on the river, it was worth every dollar! The view of the river from the windows and the outdoor area were absolutely stunning! The cleanliness and decor made it very comfortable. We will definitely rent here again.

Beautiful views, excellent location, fantastic amenities to relax right on the river front: mini-beach with chairs and hammock, awesome deck right off the kitchen for sunrise coffee and sunset dinner, hot tub with stargazing, all right out the door from a meticulously clean, well-appointed 2-bdrm apartment. Watch the rafts go by, or jump in and float down to the town square in 45min. Great and easy communication with the host, perfection! We'll be back!

This was a beautiful property, and extremely comfortable place to stay. The outdoor amenities were fantastic! There was a small issue with the BBQ, but I made a call to the contact that was provided, and I was met within 5 minutes by George who was the most friendly and accommodating gentleman, who resolved my issue so I could make our Steaks. And he brought me a fishing pole, and gear so I could try my hand at fishing! Simply put, a wonderful stay, that we will return to. Dave and Janet

We LOVED this property!!—The 4 level outdoor space right on the river with seating at each level.—The view and sound of the river with rafts and kayaks going by, as well as the woods and mountain across the river—The indoor space is attractive, comfortable, and very clean with much attention to detail.—The small kitchen area had all we needed but we didn't actually do much “cooking”.Communication was prompt and excellent. We look forward to returning soon.

We loved this place. I have been coming to Lake Isabella and Kern River since I was a small child with my family. We have camped and stayed in several hotels at the lake and the river. My husband and I wanted to try a place that had private access to the river and a separate bedroom for our daughter to sleep in. This place was perfect for the three of us. The beds were very comfortable with soft sheets and lots of pillows. The house was very clean. It was quiet and had all the amenities we needed. There was a snack basket with water bottles and cookies etc. Even the shampoo, conditioner and body wash smelled really good! The property was easy to get to and very close to town. We saw deer along the road on the way. We also saw scrub jays, quail, ducks and herons on the river. The river access was wonderful (make sure to wear your water shoes, the rocks are pretty slippery). We are definitely going to come back to stay again in the future. We are so thankful to have this place to stay on our beloved Kern River.

This property is absolutely beautiful and well located. You can hear the river from every room with the windows open. The views from the porch were stunning. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we could need for our stay. The kitchenette has equipment for small meals and such. There is a small oven but we didn't have a need to use it. The host was very thoughtful with snacks and drinks upon our arrival and was very quick to respond to any questions or needs we had while we were there. We would definitely rent again!

What a dream! This gorgeous rental is the bottom floor of a multi-level house that's right on the mighty Kern River, which is visible (and audible) from every room except one of the bedrooms. A few friends and I stayed for my birthday weekend and found the unit clean, the towels numerous and the beds comfortable. But the best part was by far the 4-level outdoor space, which had everything you need to lounge, eat with a view, hammock, start a fire pit and fish/float in the eddies right outside. I've only ever camped on the Kern before so being in a jacuzzi with a view of the river and mountains was beyond bliss (even if you could hear the late-night parties happening downriver). One note: If you are planning to cook for 4 people for every meal, bring a large pot or pan as the kitchen is stocked with a basic medium cookware set.

What a beautiful spot on the river to relax with family.... The place was so cute and comfortable and had everything we might need - even towels to use by the water! This home was an absolute delight to stay in. It spotless, spacious, and instantly welcoming. The cozy couches made family movie nights comfortable, and the soothing sound of the river created a peaceful atmosphere you could enjoy from the living room or even while drifting off to sleep. You can walk right down the steps to the river, which makes it easy to sit by the water or even take a refreshing dip. The riverside balcony was another standout feature, offering a relaxing view made even better by the hammock that invited you to unwind and soak in the scenery. The hosts were incredibly kind and responsive whenever I reached out, which made the stay even smoother. I was born and raised an outdoor enthusiast, growing up in Wisconsin where I learned to love the snow, changing seasons, and everything nature has to offer. After moving to California, I found myself missing that connection—until I discovered Kernville. It had everything I was looking for: fall colors, winter snow, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, scenic hikes, and peaceful wildflower strolls. It felt like heaven.

We purchased the property in 2016, drawn to the peaceful rhythm of the river and the deep sense of escape it provides. What truly sets this home apart is its direct river access and the undeveloped floodplain across the water, which creates a feeling of privacy and immersion in nature. The backyard benefits from cooling afternoon shade, and when paired with the gentle river breeze, it becomes a refreshing retreat from the summer heat. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood that offers a sense of seclusion, the home is still just a short walk from downtown Kernville, where you'll find inviting shops, local restaurants, and a variety of attractions.
