The closest house to the famous Agate Beach in Grand Marais, MI. This 1970s vibe, bi-level house is newly available to rent. Perfect spot for rock hounds that love spending the day looking for beautiful rocks in Lake Superior. Walk to the beach or to downtown- this location is amazing! Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Superior- really amazing to watch storms from the upstairs living room. This house has both a kitchen and a kitchenette, 2 living rooms, and 3 bedrooms. This house has stairs that are open on one side and railing on the other side. One of the bathrooms is tub only (no shower). There is a shower in downstairs full bathroom.

Note: Washer/Dryer is not available. **. the washer/dryer does not work at this time**
There is coin laundry available at the Woodland Campground in town.

There are no pets allowed.

Please note there is an open staircase from the downstairs area to the upstairs and there is a low ceiling area on the staircase.

Bath towels are provided one per guest.
if any extra towels or beach towels are needed please bring them.

We recommend that you bring your own groceries as our grocery store has a limited variety and is more expensive than a national chain.

This house had so much retro charm and was perfect for our family to spread out after a long car trip. Beds were comfortable, community areas were spacious and well stocked with puzzles, games, books, and interesting knickknacks. Great location for beach combing or venturing into PRNL.

We enjoyed our stay at this rental which is located right next to the very busy Agate Beach and parking lot. Pictured Rocks attractions were 30 minutes west, great rock hunting to the east, and a handful of restaurants are within walking distance. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. Future renters might want to bring folding chairs as there are none at the property which made it difficult for our group to gather around an outdoor fire or sit comfortably on the rooftop porch. The rental has lots of windows, creating a good cross-breeze which was nice.

We loved our stay at the Agate Beach House. It is such a fun place to stay. We woke up every morning to a beautiful view. We enjoyed the decks and the beautiful yard. The house is a quick walk away from Agate Beach which is great for rockhounds. We were there Labor Day weekend, so the parking lot at the beach did get busy during the day and also at night with people looking for Yooperlights. It was fun watching everyone coming and going and super easy when we wanted to join in the hunt for rocks. The deck on the garage is great for stargazing and enjoying the morning sun. The deck off the back was peaceful, and more private. Inside, the house is vintage but very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. There were board games and plenty of books around for additional entertainment. There is no air conditioning at the house, but there are plenty of windows and great air flow throughout the house. The host also has plenty of fans available, if needed. The beds were comfortable with extra blankets available. Our host, Molly, was very easy to contact, and quickly responded to any questions. If we find our way back up to Grand Marais, we plan to stay at the Agate Beach House again!

This house was wonderful! Homey, well stocked kitchens (yes, 2!), beautiful views, comfy beds, and best of all, a (Lake Superior) stone's throw from amazing Agate Beach. We didn't get to enjoy a fire outside due to rain, but wood was provided by the fire pit. We can't wait to visit again.

This property was more than comfortable and fun. Like 2 seperate homes so the football people could enjoy the downsyairs with a great TV and comfortable seating. Upstairs we did pizzles and enjoyed the view.

Great being within 1 minute walking distance of beach for rock collecting, yooperlite searching and beach relaxing. Beautiful lake view from house. Comfortable beds, appear new mattresses. Good space to relax with family. The 2 bathrooms were nice with large group.

Great location - just walk down the driveway and down to the beach. Absolutely amazing. Lake Superior is beautiful and the beach there is just enormous. It was our first time so we enjoyed looking for agates and yooperlites; not much luck on those but there are countless beautiful rocks along miles of beach. Bring your water shoes! And a 365nm UV flashlight for more looking at dusk. What fun!The house was great, easily sleeping 6 to 8 in three separate bedrooms, more if you squished. We had fewer so had tons of room. Everything was clean - blankets, towels, etc. Clean fridges; coffee maker worked like a charm. Shower was a bit snug and shower head a bit low unless you're maybe 5'6" or less, but water was warm. WiFi worked great. Plenty of seating too; nice fire pit, Large driveway if you have multiple cars.Grand Marais is a great little town and breakfast at The Breakwater was delicious! Only complaint was they had limpy fries everywhere we went... haha, but fear not: most places also had tater tots, and those were always crisp, so pro tip: order the tots, not the fries.The road to Munising is a fun, winding drive and the Pictured Rocks Spray Falls cruise is well worth it! Otherwise, plenty to see, waterfalls and hiking all over. A great trip and a great stay at Agate Beach House. Thanks!

Beachers Delight

This perfect property is right before the famous Agate Beach parking lot. No place to park on an aurora night? No problem. We enjoyed walking down to the beach every night, lots of coffee on the viewing deck, and actually caught some aurora while trying to photograph the Milky Way. We had plenty of room for everyone to relax and have their own rooms. A kitchen and a half for everyone to enjoy, and plenty of things to do. There were 2 TVs but we never used them with being so close to the beach. We will definitely keep this in mind for the next stay in this area.

Great location in a small town, literal 2 minute walk to the lake. House was old, but adorable! Lots of character in her. Definitely a unique stay for us. Would 100% recommend! There is no air conditioning, which I didn’t notice until after we got there. Fortunately, the weather was great and (in general) pretty cool. We just opened the windows. It was much warmer upstairs, but fans are provided in the rooms. My kids didn’t mind. It was perfect for our little family getaway! The coffee shop in town is a must visit! They have great pasties. Make sure to get groceries before you get to town. Thanks!
