Summary:
Oak Landing is the ultimate vacation spot for true relaxation, family fun, and tranquility. You'll be surrounded by towering trees, deer, & other woodland animals living around this beautiful private home. Take in the serenity both inside and out with outdoor seating and an open floor plan filled with cool furnishings. Perfect spot to gather and build memories with family and friends. The house is big enough for 2 families to share. Perfect working retreat with fast wifi and a nice work space.
The Space:

Take advantage of our State Parks Pass. This will get you free parking at all our State Parks and State Beaches.
Enjoy complete privacy in this wooded escape. You'll find comfort in this well thought out home. From the open floor plan to the attention to detail this family-friendly home has to offer.
Enjoy our lofty main living + dining room with exposed beam ceilings. It’s perfect for gathering on the couch and comfy chairs, warmed by the fireplace while watching your favorite streaming shows.
The open-concept dining room has a large, beautiful wood table for playing games, 7 gathering for your family’s and friend’s favorite meals. Skylights and a roomful of glass doors and windows place you right in the middle of redwoods, oaks and eucalyptus.
Our kitchen has been personally stocked by a lifelong lover of fresh, home cooked meals. So, if there’s something you hope to find for a gourmet, home-prepped meal or a delicious baked treat, we’re betting it’s there waiting for you.
All beds have new mattresses for you and your guest to get a wonderful night's sleep.
Bedroom #1 has a queen in a light-filled room, tall ceilings with a twin daybed if you have younger ones who still like to stay close. :) It has an attached ensuite bathroom with a one-of-a-kind walk-in shower. Choose between the traditional, handheld shower head or the overhead, oversized, rain-simulating option. The walk-in closet can double as a perfectly quiet room for infant/toddler napping. Equipped with a pack-n-play.
Bedroom #2 has a wonderfully comfortable king-sized bed, a wall-mounted TV and its own access directly to the deck and backyard. Pull back blackout curtains for a light-filled view to our redwoods, oaks and eucalyptus.
Our newly remodeled 2nd bathroom has a shower over tub and is conveniently located just outside the bedroom.
Bedroom #3 is a bunk room with 3 twins (the bunk plus a twin under the loft) and toys, books and even a mini basketball hoop to keep your children entertained.
Our Bonus Room has a full-sized bed and another bunk with two twins, perfect for families.
Take advantage of outdoor living on our deck with a comfortable sitting area and a new gas bbq with plenty of grill space for you and all guests.
You'll have garage access and a full size washer and dryer.
Guests will have access to the entire house and are free to explore this 1-acre wooded property. The house is located in a quiet secluded neighborhood just outside of the city of Santa Cruz. The home lies on a private drive that serves our home and the home of our neighbors. Please be respectful of our neighbors who themselves enjoy the peace and quiet of their home. Absolutely no parties or outside amplified music. To make sure this beautiful house continues to be available to future guests we must strictly enforce the house rules. Any violations (e.g., parties, speeding in the neighborhood, etc.) will result in eviction and forfeiture of damage deposit.
Although our home is remote, you’ll be close to the everything that matters:
- Minutes to Nisene Marks State Park
- 10 minutes or less to three State Beaches (Rio Del Mar, Seacliff, Manresa) and many other county and local beaches
- 10 minutes to the Capitola Beach & Boardwalk
- 16 minutes to the Santa Cruz Beach & Boardwalk (though Santa Cruz does get its fair share of traffic)
- 17 minutes or less to *6* local golf courses
- 40 miles to San Jose International airport
For your safety electronic outdoor surveillance has been installed. Please note that we value privacy so do not monitor places where you and your guests will be gathering (e.g., the back deck patio).
Please avoid shoes in the house and absolutely no pets. Breaking the no pet rule will result in a $200 fee and claim filed with Airbnb.
We will also do everything we can to make it easy for you to keep sand outside the home. This includes a place to sit and rinse feet outside the front door … and did you know a little baby powder goes a long way towards removing sand? We’ll have plenty on hand. : )
The house is 100% yours during your reservation. We do ask that you respect the neighbors and neighborhood. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES or large groups. MUST BE OVER 25 TO BOOK.

You'll have full and private access to the entire property
The Neighborhood:
Nestled in Aptos hills. Our street is narrow and short. We are just 5 to 10 min drive to hiking, beaches and more!
Other Things to Note:
Our Bathrooms. This is a 2-bathroom home with one of the bathrooms attached ensuite to the primary bedroom. Please consider this layout when planning which of your guests will have access to which bedrooms and bathrooms.
Our Driveway. Turning onto our driveway involves a fairly sharp turn and navigating a straight but steep driveway. Especially low cars or long vehicles (like a Sprinter van) might not work well. If you think any of this might be an issue for you or your guests, please let us know. We’ll be happy to provide any needed details.
For this reason it’s especially important to allow no more than three cars on the property at any time. Parking on our private, shared street is also not allowed due to the fact that it’s narrow and largely the property of our neighbors.
Our home is private and secluded yet close to everything. So while you'll be surrounded by trees, and will likely never see the neighbors, nor they you, the back of our property runs adjacent to one of the "veins" of access into the foothills and deeper hills of Aptos. This is great for convenience, but also means traffic noise during commute hours is fairly common. We have double-paned doors and windows, but if vehicle sounds are especially problematic, we ask you to consider this before booking
