Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm.
Moonshine Camp is located up a small valley near the old spring where moonshine was made back in the day. This walk-in site is an easy 1/10 mile walk from the parking area.
The small glamping cottage has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the woods. It comes with a queen memory foam mattress, linens, blankets and pillows. A small outdoor cooking and food prep space which includes, a small washing sink, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Cook over the firepit with a built-in camp grill. The camping space is in the woods, surrounded by ferns, near a small spring and has a small table and chairs for two, rechargeable lanterns, a handwashing station and a covered changing area, with a portable toilet using biobags. We also provide a food storage cooler and some fun moonshine books and reading material. Firewood is available for purchase on site for $5 per bundle.
The space is suitable for two adults without pets. There is no electric or potable water on site. We can deliver ice, drinking water, a charging block and any items from our farm store.
All guest accommodations are very private, located acres apart by trails and farm roads. All guests have access to our farm trails, pond and river property, which is located three miles from our main farm and is a stock trout stream. Our farm store offers our Animal Welfare Approved eggs and meat, breakfast baskets, as well as seasonal produce and local items, including souvenirs from Shenandoah National Park and local artwork. We also offer farm experiences such as Snacks and Cuddles, river tubing, and host a variety of homesteading classes and events.
We are located within walking distance to a local brewery and vineyard, Blue Quartz Winery and Shotwell Run Brewery. The farm is a short 10-minute drive to Old Rag Mountain trailhead, Graves Mountain Farm and Lodge, which hosts Bluegrass, Peach and Apple Harvest Festivals and many local favorites, such as Bald Top Brewery, DuCard Vineyards, Sharp Rock Vineyards. 15 minutes to White Oak Canyon, the cute town of Sperryville with it's art galleries, coffee shops and restaurants. The Thornton Gap entrance to Skyline Drive is 25 minutes and Swift Run Entrance is 35 minutes. Luray Caverns is 40 minutes and Charlottesville is an hour. We are less than two hours from Washington, D.C.
