We’re a family of five—three boys, a rotating crew of dogs, and a love for adventure. We discovered North Captiva Island by accident during the pandemic. In 2020, we booked a spring break house on Captiva, but it was canceled while we were en route from Virginia—minivan packed, kids and dog in tow.

In a scramble, we found a last-minute rental on this mysterious island only accessible by boat. We were skeptical… but we pulled the trigger.

We stayed for 9 weeks—and completely fell in love with North Captiva’s wild beauty, peace, and the slower pace of life. The next year, we bought a home here and started Las Olas. Then Hurricane Ian hit, cat 5 directly through our house/ Island. We’ve worked hard to reopen in the Winter of 2025.

Now, we're thrilled to share this slice of paradise with other families, and we hope your stay here is just as unforgettable as our first one was. We partner with incredible people who live on the island to greet you and act as host for your stay.

Come visit!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Accessible only by boat, this secluded barrier island is a true hidden gem—no cars, no crowds, just sandy golf cart paths, wild beaches, and total serenity. It’s a place where dolphins swim just offshore, sunsets demand your full attention, and nature wraps around you in every direction.

It’s the perfect blend of barefoot luxury and off-the-grid adventure—a rare escape from the real world where you can truly unplug, unwind, and reconnect.

We chose Las Olas because of its ideal location on the quiet (and drier!) south end of the island—just steps from the best beach on North Captiva and right near the untouched beauty of the 3-mile-long state preserve. Whether you're exploring the trails or sinking your toes in the sand, it's all right outside your door.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

Las Olas is tailor-made for unforgettable family vacations.
Tucked away for privacy, the home offers a peaceful escape—whether you're splashing in the secluded private pool, relaxing in the open-air lower play area, or rinsing off the salt and sand in the new outdoor shower. Everything is designed for comfort, convenience, and fun.

What truly sets Las Olas apart is its prime location—a short walk to both the island’s best beach and the breathtaking state preserve. Load up the golf cart with beach gear, or enjoy the walk—either way, you’re minutes from paradise.

And yes—dogs are absolutely welcome!
Our own pups love it here, and yours will too. North Captiva is a true dog-friendly island, with happy pups playing on the beach and swimming in the Gulf, especially at sunset. If you’ve got a water-loving dog, this is their dream come true.
