The cottage has a grassy private backyard with all you need to relax as a parent. Right in front of it is dune sand for kids to play and you’re within feet from them relaxing. The beach is right behind it. It‘s great not to have to carry sand toys and gear. Just the towels for a swim. There were beach chairs we could have used to bring to the beach. Swim vests and paddle boats etc right there and in the garden to take to the water. The propane was low on the fire bowl, and they responded to my late Sunday evening email that someone will be out the next morning! That’s great service! They came and switched it as promised and we were able to enjoy the sunset around the fire bowl in comfy recliner chairs. I loved that the cottage was surrounded by lush grass to keep a lot of the sand out. And an outside shower stand on the grass to rinse off! This was a great little detail. The cottage could use some updates. The bathroom and kitchen just about had it, but it was clean and functional as much as it can be for its age. The shower is pretty small space. You might have to squeeze a bit. And don’t forget a floor rug or towels for the shower/bathroom floor. We didn’t use the ACs but there are lots of windows and a nice breeze to cool it down. This was our first experience to bring all the bells and whistles - towels and sheets, soaps, extra TP, dish detergent and towels and scrubs … but shopping is close by. Costs more up here for groceries and gas, but is to be expected. The beach has lots of swept in algae so its not the wide pristine look we usually have, but also mussels and fun stones to find for the kids was a great trade off. Being able to bring your dog was a great vacation experience for the whole family. Being right at the beach on top of it was super relaxing. Overall a great time and we’d come back.
