*Note- the owner lives in a one-bedroom under the property with her two small adorable dogs Zoey and Lilly. Your space is completely separate and has an outside set of stairs up to your private deck and 2 bedroom 1 bath area. Your Privacy is ensured throughout your stay. I would love to recommend restaurants and places to go and see. This is an adult-only property. There is no kitchen- it is an efficiency style- perfect for those who want to experience all the delicious Hawaiian cuisine our island has to offer, with the ability to grill, warm up leftovers, and have coffee and cocktails on your lanai.

I also own a larger Oceanfront property that is just a 10-minute walk from this one. If your party needs more room there is a discount for booking both places. Mermaid's Oasis VRBO # is 892746 and it sleeps 10 with 4 bedrooms and a pool.

There is a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and a Keurig as well as a BBQ grill. Enjoy your morning coffee on your private lanai while enjoying sunrise and afternoon cocktails on the pool deck while you BBQ.

There are two desks and great internet as well as Youtube TV and two large flat-screen televisions so you don't miss your favorite programs.

Mermaid's Lookout is just 30 minutes from the Hilo airport. Hilo and Pahoa have some outstanding dining options. Kaleos is one of my favorites and has a location in Pahoa and Orchidland just 15 minutes from the house. Pele's Kitchen has large organic breakfasts that are fantastic. In Hilo, I love Pineapples, Cafe Pesto, and Hilo Bay Cafe. There is a farmers market in the charming downtown area of Hilo on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the Makuu Farmer's market on Sunday is not to be missed with great food and shopping. There are many gorgeous waterfalls - Rainbow and Akaka Falls should not be missed. I have taken the chocolate farm and vanilla farm tours and thoroughly enjoyed them and all the interesting information and yummy samples. There is a very cool underground Speakeasy called the Hidden Nene. They have fabulously crafted drinks.

Arguably one of the biggest attractions on our island is the Kilauea Volcano which has been active on and off since December. It is just a 30-minute drive. The restaurant at Volcano House is outstanding and there are some wonderful hikes up there as well.
