Amazing property with lovely host

We were attracted to the many hikes and beautiful beaches at Androw and Villa Philinna was the perfect place for our family. We enjoyed the amazing view and outdoor area (including the pool) and since we like to cook, we spent quite a few evenings on the gorgeous terrace. Our wonderful host (Lia) welcomed us and was extremely attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We loved the spacious Agios Petros beach right below the house and also enjoyed Gold beach on windy days. The atmosphere in Gavrio varied between quiet and not-overly-touristy and chaotic/crazy (in an interesting way) when the ferries came. For a bit more touristy atmosphere, we visited Batsi for lunch or dinner a few times.

Wonderful!

We were a group of two families with teenage children and a younger one and we rented both of lia's properties and shared the pool. The houses are very beautiful and a clearly a lot of thought has gone in to the detail. The views from both properties and the pool (which is in another at the top) are absolutly stunning. I would advise having a car to nip out for supply's and to explore, however if you wanted to stay close to home you could do without one but there is walk up the hill. The local beaches are beautiful and our teenagers loved Batsi (we did too!...lots of restaurants to pick from and shops and bars) A really wonderful Place to stay and I would love to return!

Einfach nur fabelhaft !!!

Bereits bei unserer Ankunft am 26.Mai 2017 waren wir von der Schönheit des Hauses und der umliegenden Gärten überwältigt . Unsere Gastgeber hatten es uns an nichts fehlen lassen, Kühlschrank und Vorratsschränke waren gefüllt, das Haus wunderschön eingerichtet und in bestem Zustand. Dieser Eindruck sollte sich in den drei Wochen, die wir dort waren, noch verfestigen ! Auch die Insel selbst überraschte uns jeden Tag aufs Neue, mit tollen Stränden, beeindruckenden kulturellen Einblicken und - hervorragender Küche in den von unseren Gastgebern auf einer umfangreichen Liste vorgeschlagenen Restaurants. Sehr gut erholt und mit Wehmut reisten wir am 17. Juni 2017 ab - wir kommen bestimmt wieder, vielleicht sogar noch einmal in diesem Jahr - Santi und Reinhard

La maison est très confortable, extremement propre et la vue est magique! Les hotes sont charmants. Les plages proches de la maison offrent une eau cristalline. C'est l'endroit idéal pour découvrire Andros.

Gavrio is bliss

The house is splendid (well equipped, spotless, beautifully decorated with some nice touches like the bottle of local red in the fridge upon arrival), the view is stunning and the island charming with many delicious local tavernas. We really appreciated the daily emails with suggestions (best beaches on a windy day, ...) and the quick responses whenever we had a question. We had a perfect week away and can only recommend this place and its fantastic host. Thank you

Great villa for a family holiday

We had a brilliant two week stay. The villa is set above Agios Petros beach with stunning views across the Aegean. The villa itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped, while our host Lia couldn’t have been more helpful before and during our stay with great recommendations for beaches, restaurants and sightseeing. We had a very relaxing and restful stay. Car is a definite requirement.

Excellent séjour dans la maison de Lia

Très belle maison , bien équipée, à la literie très confortable. Une merveilleuse piscine avec vue sur la mer. L’accueil de Lia et de Yoannis est très chaleureux.

Anniversary in Andros

We stayed for 13 nights in Andros at Lia and Yannis'. We were met at the Ferry in Gavrio and Yannis took us to the car hire, beaches and interesting places. He is the perfect host and has a wealth of knowledge of Andros, its history and people. Lia and Yannis gave us a wonderfull welcome and we instantly felt at home there. We were constantly amazed at the at the beautiful venues, beaches, interesting museums and galleries. The villa and pool are fabulous. The local food in Batsi is also excellent. Make sure you book soon to enjoy the wonderful views from the villa and sunsets. Truly a memorable holiday. Thank you

Formidable séjour

C’est un lieu paradisiaque avec une vue magnifique !! L’ile est somptueuse. Lia et Loanis nos hôtes ont été aux petits soins avec nous. Ils sont très accueillants et donnent de bonnes adresses et de bons conseils. Service parfait. Nous recommandons à 100% nous y avons séjourné 10 jours avec nos trois garçons et nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir! Un grand merci à eux.

Superb views

Very nice stay in this apartment. The terras has a stunning view out to the see as well as the location of the pool. We had an amazing time here with our three little children of 6, 4 and 1 and a half! Thanks Lia!

Best host ever!

Lia made our trip relaxed and special. As newbie travlers she helped us by reserving taxis from the airport to the Rafina ferry, she met us at the Gavrio dock and showed us where to pick up our car, escorted us to the BEAUTIFUL accomodations, and helped us choose beaches and restaurants. We speak no Greek at all but with smiles and pointing wenhad a lovely 4 day stay on the island. It’s an incredible view from the property and so clean and spacious with an beautiful pool, porches and all the amenities. She even baked us a traditional cake. We recommend Andros for the non cruise ship family crowd. It’s family friendly and low key, we were often the only English speaking visitors but felt so welcome. The driving is narrow steep winding, we were comfortable with that but it is good to be aware of. You must have a rental car. We had a stick shift which we were comfortable with but it’s not for beginner stick shift drivers. We will recommend Lia to everyone. We felt the price was very reasonable for the accomodations. Down the hill is a hamlet with a small grocery and a few restaurants. 10 minutes to Golden Beach.... all family friendly. We had fun checking out Chora and hiking a few trails and loved the food everywhere we went.

What a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Lia was a wonderful host and the villa was stunning.

Philocaly villa sits on a hillside overlooking St Peters Bay, amazing views. The bay below is great for an early morning swim. The villa is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a lovely holiday, you could just stay at the villa all day and be happy. However, there are lots of super places very near to explore - great tavernas, good swimming and lovely little villages. Lia was a fantastic host, she advised us on travel to Andros and gave us lots of tips on places to go. She even baked us a lovely cake. We shall be returning. A fab holiday. One thing Andros needs is a yoga studio - it's got me thinking!
