Welcome to the White Cottage at Mica Lane a delightful beach front Victorian home located on Kennebec Point at the southern end of Georgetown Island.
This enchanting cottage offers four bedrooms and two full baths. Entering off the wraparound screened in porch, the open concept first floor offers good flow between the living, dining and kitchen areas. The fully equipped kitchen has a large window over the sink with such a beautiful view over the water that you’ll be volunteering to do the washing up. Outdoor cooking more your thing, there is a grill on the deck just waiting for you. Want to curl up with a good book away from everyone? There is a lovely little library that’s the perfect spot just off of the living room. The main floor also boasts two convenient bedrooms, one with two twins the other with a queen bed with a full bath in the hall between them. There is another full bath at the base of the stairs with a claw foot tub that services the two bedrooms upstairs. Speaking of the upstairs bedrooms, each has a queen bed as well as a comfortable chair, the perfect place to take in the stunning water views. Have to work while you’re here, wireless internet will help you get it done so you can get back to the beach. Can’t bear to leave your dog at home, bring him along. He just can’t bring his friends with him.
Outside the large lawn gently slopes down to the beach for easy access. The tidal bay offers many unique opportunities. When the tide is in, it’s an excellent spot to kayak, paddle board, swim or fish. When the tide is out, you can walk all the way across the mud flats to the other side of the bay, play in the tidal pools, watch the sea birds, discover what lies at the bottom of the bay or watch the clammers digging for clams. Just around the corner is a community tennis/pickleball court as well as nearby nature trails, fresh water ponds great for swimming, and backroads for walking and biking. It’s easy to spend your whole vacation right on the Point, but should you want to venture out, you don’t have to go far to discover the Georgetown Historical Society, Georgetown Pottery, Reid State Park and restaurants Five Islands Lobster Co, Blue and The Osprey all on the island. A little farther still is the charming town of Bath with the Bath Iron Works, Maine Maritime Museum, boat rides up the Kennebec River, shopping and restaurants.
