I spent just 24 hours in Chicago, and it was the best experience. The location was perfect for everything I needed to do. The host was fantastic and communicated effectively. The home matched the description perfectly. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Overall ok stay experience. Bathroom water system was out (watertub filled with water) and got fixed next day. Two worms creeped in on last night. The sofabed was broken and would slip out from the mainframe making it unable to use overnight.

Awful!

I was in town for my nephew’s funeral & was by myself. When I arrived at the property, it was well after dark, as I attended the visitation before checking in. The building was on an extremely busy street with only on street parking which I was not aware of until I arrived (I knew of the on street parking, but did not know how busy the street was. I was fearful of being hit by a car getting in & out of my vehicle. The building was completely dark & I had to get out of my car to locate the correct building. The neighborhood did not feel very safe. I then had to walk up a dark walkway quite a ways before any light came on to retrieve the keys, & then fumble in the dark trying to open the door. There was a porch light, but it was not on & I could not figure out how to turn it on. Once inside, many of the lights (entire kitchen area) did not work. Because I did not feel safe there, I ended up staying with some other family members. Thank goodness they had room for me! I notified the host & requested he make an exception to his no refunds policy since I didn’t stay there, only to be told he would only issue a refund if the property was rebooked for the same dates which was ridiculous. I would not recommend this host or property. Very disappointed in how I was treated.

Katie communicated the cancellation the day of the reservation. Which didn't allow us to adjust our schedule. We gave her all the instructions regarding the parking etc. About the lights, I asked and was able to confirmed with my cleaners several times, everything works perfectly. Katie is asking a refund before she checks in, I feel that she is making an excuse for us to re-consider her cancellation and refund her the full amount. We hope that Katie will consider rebooking with us in the future when their plans are more settled.
