This neighborhood is sketch. It is Brownsville. Uncomfortable during the day. Just scary at night. Some guy was smoking crack beside the stairs one night when we got home. Someone in the neighborhood playing hip hop or reggae with bass thumping until 2 am every night - like windows shaking. Sirens. The actual unit is not where it is pictured in the listing.The internal of the unit was fine. As listed. Kitchen/LR were great. Bedrooms are barebones. Decent renovation.Kitchen had the typical minimum - salt, pepper, sugar. 4 random cups from a garage sale. Rest of kitchen was OK (enough plates, etc.)Backyard is kinda nasty. Broken motorcycle, rusted shopping cart...One of the neighbors smoked pot from 9am to 1am every day. Whole building smelled.Communication was weak - took 16 hours and 4 emails to get the WiFi fixed.Not a family spot. I would not stay again

Brooklyn Wedding

This property was just what we needed for the 6 of us (all adults). We appreciated the excellent AC, wide open space, room for all 6 to sleep comfortably, and quieter neighborhood. Communication with the host was fantastic.

Picked this one to save some money for a couple of our travelers….in and out was way easy, started to get comfortable getting around. We ran the Brooklyn half marathon so after doing Manhattan a bunch we anted to check things out on this side of the river.

Cozy and comfort

The property is at a different location than the listed address. But the location was good, stores and supermarket was close by. The property is really nice and well kept. The amenities all are updated and beautifully put together. My overall stay was really good the place served its purpose. The Host Sean communication was good and helpful.Thank you for a beautiful stay.

The unit was in a multi-unit dwelling, but we didn’t have any interaction with other units/residents. Unit was clean and “as advertised.” I would have like if there were some window treatments in the living/dining room, but overall… it was really a great decision to rent this space for our family trip to NY!

New York Adventure

Property was clean and well stocked with towels, but it needs some updating (new paint; it’s showing wear and tear). There is also a strong pot spell in the entry hall, which thankfully does not permeate into the unit. We did not receive check-in instructions ahead of time, but the property manager responded immediately when contacted and the directions were very easy to follow. Walk to subway was about 15 minutes, which was convenient. Property is not very conveniently located if you plan to spend a lot of time in Manhattan. It’s a long train ride to the city and was a long rideshare ride back at night.

The apartment was clean. However, the location of the apartment was not accurately represented. The property heading states it’s in “charming” Brooklyn, but there is nothing charming about this part of Brooklyn. Bravo Supermarket was within walking distance, but did not have good food choices, and was in a noisy neighborhood with quite a bit of police activity. The email I received with instructions for accessing the keys indicated the property was in the East Flatbush neighborhood, but when we Googled the address, it’s actually in the Brownsville neighborhood, described as having one of the highest crime rates in NYC. In addition, it was very difficult to open the doors with the keys provided. But the biggest issue we had was not having a working refrigerator/freezer. I communicated with the host, but the person he sent to fix it did not fix it, nor was it replaced the entire length of our stay, resulting in the spoilage of some of the food purchased our first night. For the reasons stated, I cannot recommend staying in this apartment.

Pleasant Brooklyn Stay

This property was a great place to stay in the city with a larger group. I went on a girls trip with six people total. There was room for all of us with two people doubling up in one room. The accommodations were very nice and clean overall. The outdoor patio space in the back was nice to have access to. Street parking is free, just first come first serve. If you are looking to be able to get into Manhattan a lot this may not be the place for you. The walk to the subway was about 10 min give or take. This place was a bit farther removed from the areas we wanted to go to (Coney Island, Canal St., NY Botanical Garden) but for the price and space it was a good trade off. The host was very responsive to my messages with any questions. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay overall. I would recommend this stay for a family or group of friends who do not mind walking and longer subway rides. Definitely a family friendly location with other families living in the building. Neighbors were very quiet and respectful with reasonable apartment living noises. The street was pretty quiet when we were there (end of June). The apartment is temperature controlled which was great during the heat wave. Bring your own toilet paper because hosts only provided one roll per bathroom and we had to go out and buy toilet paper after the first day.

My husband, two children and I stayed in this house for 4 nights. The house is spacious with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a nice kitchen, and living room. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are soft and clean.However, the neighborhood is pretty bad and feels quite unsafe. We did not feel safe enough to walk anywhere to find somewhere to eat or shop. So we Door Dashed food for a few days and took taxis everywhere. Normally I wouldn’t be so disappointed with the neighborhood, but the location was quite a surprise for us. The property details have a totally different address, located in a nice neighborhood. But the real address is 15 minutes away from the fake address, and located in a bad neighborhood. The owner sends the real address in a message before you check in. I don’t see any other reason why to show a fake address in a nice neighborhood when the real address is elsewhere. I received no explanation from the owner about this, even when I called him to say we ended up at the fake address. The house itself was overall quite pleasant. However many small things were almost broken, like the two toilet paper holders and towel holders. The TV didn’t work either. I told the owner about it and he just said “Thank you for letting me know”. The washing machine was very dirty even after we tried very hard to clean it. Thus, we were not able to do any laundry. Part of the reason why we chose this house is because it had a washer and dryer. Sadly, we couldn’t use it.
