The location is so picturesque. The property was absolutely gorgeous. The dens, kitchen, and bedrooms were cozy and welcoming. The house had beautiful décor as well. Check-in and checkout were seamless, and communication with the host was so easy; the host was quick to respond to all my questions. We are already planning on returning sometime soon!

New Year’s Eve trip

We rented this property for 2 nights to celebrate the new year. The property is beautiful. There is a pasture behind the property with horses. The house was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed slow mornings at the sun drenched kitchen table and cozied in the upstairs den with the fireplace to watch the ball drop. It was an easy check in and out process.

Picturesque

Extremely comfortable, relaxing and wonderful place. Was concerned about horses across the way in the extreme cold but it appears they were being cared for. Would love to return!

This property was amazing. My family and I wanted a quiet base of operation for our daily hiking expeditions (we went in the summer), and that is exactly what we got with this property.My wife and I started our mornings drinking coffee on the front porch while watching the bumblebees and hummingbirds do their thing and see the occasional deer or two steal some fallen apples from the trees on the side of the property. The road out front may have a car or two pass by in the hour we were out there, but otherwise only the flapping of wings was the soundtrack of our mornings.If you are the type of person that enjoys basking in the sun in the morning, the back porch is the perfect spot to watch the sun crest over the mountains and the possibility to see a beaver (or goundhog? It was hard to tell) and I'm sure the bees and birds like the flowering plants back there as well.I can't really speak to the the state of the house during the afternoons, as we were spending way too much time out of the house having fun with the plethora of activities in the area.As for nights: If you like it dark and want to see a lot of stars, this is the place for you! I'd like to note, though, that the darkness around you in EVERY direction may make you start hearing things that are not actually out there. One that that may be out there is a cat that I think lives at this house usually. He seemed very nice, but hearing the "rawr" in the darkness was a little unsettling until we saw the little guy.

This might be one of the most vivid reviews we have read in a while, and we appreciate you taking the time to write it. The mornings you described, coffee on the front porch with hummingbirds and the occasional deer helping themselves to fallen apples, sound like exactly what this property does best. We are glad it served as such a good base for your hiking days, and that the quiet held up in both directions, from the sunrise on the back porch to the star-filled nights. As for the resident cat and his dramatic entrance in the dark, we suspect he considers the property his and simply allows guests to visit. Thank you for sharing all of this. This house is beautiful - super simple entry/exit, great kitchen for cooking, excellent appliances and well kept property. Lots of towels and blankets and everyone had a bed to sleep in for my party of seven. It's nicely removed from the main road so it's super quiet - saw some wildlife (bears and deer). A few suggestions: 1. There was an iron but no ironing board from what we could tell. Would've been handy as we were going to a wedding and needed to iron some clothes. 2. There's a cat who seems to live on the property - sweet animal but COVERED in ticks. 3. A few missing items in the kitchen - kitchen tongs, some coffee filters, but guessing they just ran out. Overall - excellent stay!
