The Little Blue House in the Capitol Hill SE neighborhood near the US Capitol will be available to guests for 5-14 days in late Dec.**Location: This charming mini townhouse is tucked away in an historical residential alley near the US Capitol. The property is located on a quiet walkway a 5-minute walk from the Eastern Market DC Metro-rail station. In this location, you’re a stone’s throw from the Capitol Dome and National Mall in an exceptionally quiet and private location away from city streets. **Access: The little house has two entrances/exits. The back door, which opens to a patio, leads to a walkway for foot traffic only. The front door opens onto a 30-ft. wide alley, paved in red pavers, where you can pull up to unload a vehicle. **Travel. Fly into Dulles Airport and take the Silver Line as a straight shot to Eastern Market. Alternatively, fly into Reagan National and take the Blue Line. If you arrive by Amtrak or inter-city bus to Union Station NE, you’re only a mile north within easy reach of the house on foot, by Uber or city bus. **Parking: Street parking is not a strong suit of this Vrbo. You can only park on nearby streets for up to 2 hours without a DC license plate. **What's Nearby: The location of the house is ideal for visitors. It's a short walk to Pennsylvania Ave SE, where you will find not only Eastern Market but Trader Joe’s, CVS, banks, 7-Eleven, a post office and cafes and restaurants. Stroll a couple blocks east to bustling 8th Street SE to find stores, take-out places, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Chipotle, an organic market and bakery. Walking south, you can reach the Capitol South Metro station in 15 minutes. City buses will take you down 8th Street to the Navy Yard area. **What's Inside: Our house is well organized for guests, with good signage and instructions. There are two small bedrooms, each with a good closet, and suitcase storage on a giant shelf above the stairs. The Red Room has a queen-sized bed while the Orange Room has a double/full. The small house is cozy in winter, with a highly energy efficient new furnace. In the kitchen, there’s a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans etc. In the bedrooms, there are sheets, blankets, seasonal duvet inserts and covers, pillows/cases and plenty of clothes hangers. There’s a full-sized washer-dryer, iron/ironing board, multi-plugs and chargers. We provide a variety of cleaning supplies. The bathroom is well supplied. **Great Patio: On a nice day, you can sit out on the patio with your morning coffee. There’s a pretty old elm tree by the small patio. *Getting around by Bike: There’s are Capitol Bike Share stations at Eastern Market and Capitol South Metros for guests who want to ride bikes locally. *Working from the House: The Internet connection works well as long as multiple devices aren't connected and in use simultaneously. The Internet we provide is good but not a super-fast home office connection designed for multiple workers to use during business hours. There are cafes nearby with WiFi where tenants can work on devices. **Holiday Attractions: From the house, you can walk down to the US Botanical Gardens in 15 minutes to visit their magical outdoor holiday train display. The Capitol Christmas tree isn't far away. Don't miss the White House Christmas tree and Santa's Village down by the Ellipse. Come home for the holidays at the Little Blue House.
