This place was on a beautiful property, had plenty of space, and plenty to do. Bud was a responsive host who called ahead of check-in to give detailed, easy to follow instructions. I’d love to come back here again.

Our family of 12 had a lovely time being together at this property. There was plenty of room for everyone with comfortable beds and we were all able to gather around the large dining room table. It was enjoyable to watch the barges drift by on the river from the back deck. It was difficult to locate the property with the directions provided and phone service is very spotty in that area so we couldn’t communicate very well to help us find it. We also did not have any propane for the grill, but when I spoke with the owner, he was able to provide that for us. Although the listing for this property features pictures of a hot tub, but the hot tub does not work so that was quite disappointing to our group.

The whole place needs updated. The pool table was old and tired. Hot tub was not working. The place could sleep a lot of people only because they put futons wherever they could. There was only a worn out couch and love seat in the living area, so we all couldn't sit together. Beds were uncomfortable. The spiral stairs to get to the lower level were sketchy. And there were only two outdated little tvs.

Very cozy. Perfect cabin for our Christmas family weekend getaway! Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. Kitchen was great! Loved the really long table to accommodate everyone. Christmas tree and Christmas music were a nice touch when we arrived. Overall - would recommend this cabin to anyone needing a space to accommodate a large group. Beautiful setting as well right off the Ohio River!

We had 15 ladies and plenty of room. The beds were great. The only issue was the spiders and spider webs out on the deck, but the wonderful view of the River made up for that. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Cabin on the River

Originally when booking the cabin, only booked for 2 guests. Approximately 1 month before check in, I messaged host and let them know we would have a total of 8 guests total, we’d need to pay for 6 extra. They agreed and sent me an invoice for 216, which I paid. I had also asked if we could check in between 12-1:00 (check in 3:00). He said to contact him the night before and he’ll let us know. I contacted him the evening before for early check in, no reply. The next morning I get an invoice for 108, shortly after he called me about check in, which is when I asked why I’m getting charged another 108. He stated that I (me the renter)figured the amount wrong. I said no, I told you how many guests we have, YOU are the one that figured the amount wrong and sent the invoice, it’s not my responsibility to figure your math for you. He stated if I didn’t pay the 108 we wouldn’t be able to check in. I told him I’m not paying it cause me and my wife weren’t going to be staying cause I was just admitted into hospital for emergency surgery, therefore he’s already been paid for 2 guests that weren’t going to be there. He said fine, check in is at 3:00! And hung up on me. I contacted VRBO and they had me go ahead and pay the 108, which in return, they immediately sent me 108 back to my account. They said to do it this way and they’d take care of it on his end. Becareful that host doesn’t charge extra fees. Other than this, the stay was good.

Spent a great five days at the property enjoying the deck and the river. Bud was super nice and very responsive when contacted. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay.

Our family stayed over Memorial weekend and enjoyed every minute. Room for everyone to gather or have a moment of peace away from each other. Only complaint-mattresses are hard.

Loved our stay!

This place was very nice, had a great view of the river, and had plenty of amenities to keep our group of 10 entertained for the weekend. Bud was very kind and communicated well ahead of time with any questions I had. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay

We were all coming from different directions. It was a nice place to get together and catch up. It was February so no outdoor activities. Hot tub was clean and relaxing. Would stay again.

Family reunion

This property is just as advertized. Plenty of room for a large group to have space. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the boats on the river. We hope to stay at this property again in the future.

Great place to stay!

Great place to stay. The view of the river was wonderful. Enjoyed the sunrise over the river. We especially loved the bathroom outside of each bedroom. We loved the large dining room table that the 12 of us could eat around together. Bud was very friendly and urge us to call him if we needed anything. Dennis
