The property was spacious for a family of 4 and we were very comfortable. The kitchen had what we needed. It was super clean but I was told because it’s a privately owned property, house keeping was an additional charge which we did not opt to pay (and didn’t feel we should) for a 7 day stay. So the floors got a bit grubby and it would have been nice to have fresh towels. It’s important to note this property is NOT beach front. It is definitely ocean front where the property looks directly to the ocean with no obstruction. There is a retaining wall with very choppy waters. The beach was close by and visible from the unit but the waters were not safe and we never saw anyone in the water. In general this side of the island was not the best in terms of weather or water conditions. This was our 3rd visit and the least favorable location.The overall property grounds are well maintained with a lot of activities. We did not experience any bugs. You can hear the neighbors upstairs walking around (sounds like stomping) and flushing the toilet. We also had to deal with the water being turned off for 4 hours which is not ideal when you are on vacay at a resort and could not get late check out due to our unit being fumigated. We just don’t expect this from vacationing at a resort property. This was not related to Garden Island Properties who are terrific. but the actual property.

Loved the location!

We enjoyed our time at this vacation rental. This was our first experience with a VRBO and our experience at the condo complex and our interactions with the management company were top notch! I was very impressed. The beds were so comfortable and we loved that there were a few board games on hand too! Thanks for a great property and for making our vacation experience so pleasant.

Great beach in your backyard!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The home has a great layout with a large primary bedroom and good size second bedroom as well. The ocean views from the living room/kitchen and primary bedroom are wonderful. The walking trail was great as we used it almost every day. We were able to watch the sunrise over the ocean directly in front of our living room/lanai during our stay which we did every morning. A great quiet beach in your backyard a few steps to the left is what really makes this place special.

Clearly among the best-located units at Pono Kai--only about 50 yards of grass and a paved walkway separate you from the ocean. So comfortable, I was tempted to just stay "home" for my entire stay. Also, had two occasions to contact management with special requests and they were quick, friendly and positive in both cases.

Perfection!

We enjoyed everything about this property. Location to town was convenient & walkable, proximity to the beach was immediate & water views were amazing from the unit! The unit was updated & well stocked. The beds were very comfy in both rooms. The ceiling fans were cooling & having A/C in the bedrooms was nice to cool off. Breezes in the afternoon helped cool off the living room in the afternoon. The resort property was very nice & full of fun amenities for my tweenage kids. Can’t wait to book this same unit again for our next visit.

Surprised to find a small ice chest and beach chairs too. Perfect for a family or two couples. I would highly recommend this condo as well as Garden Island Properties for your vacation in Kauai. My only negative was that the bed in the master was way too soft for me.
