Have a peaceful stay in the historic and highly sought after Boulevard neighborhood. The comfortable and eclectic home is a five minute walk from Normaltown bars and restaurants and a five minute drive to the UGA campus and downtown Athens.
The space
In the cozy living room you will find a TV with cable channels (including sports channels) as well as streaming platforms Netflix and Hulu.
There are two eating areas including a formal dining room and breakfast area overlooking the backyard. Wine and cocktail glasses are available.
The full kitchen comes with everything needed to cook at home including an oven, microwave, blender, and toaster. There is a new drip coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, and electric water kettle. A french press and pour over coffee maker are also available. Whole bean and ground coffee from local roaster 1,000 Faces Coffee as well as a selection of tea is provided.
There are two bedrooms inside. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the second bedroom has two twin sized beds. Both bedrooms have storage space, a luggage rack, full sized mirror, and hangers for clothes. There is a new LG washer and dryer in the second bedroom.
A green and white tiled bathroom with a claw foot tub is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. A small half bath is also available.
The house was built in 1913 as a shotgun style home workers at the Southern Manufacturing Company Mill. A 1960 addition doubled the house's size and added the front porch. It has been home to several Athens, artists, musicians, and personalities throughout the years, and is now owned by an artist and educator.
The historic neighborhood is walkable and quiet. Several restaurants and bars are less than a 10 min walk including White Tiger BBQ, Agua Linda, Automatic Pizza, Marti’s at Midday and Sips Espresso Cafe. Normal Bar, Old Pal, Hi-Lo and Athentic Brewery are also less than a 10 min walk.
UGA's North Campus and downtown Athen's restaurants, bars, and music venues are roughly 1 mile away. Downtown is a 5 min drive, ~ 30 min walk, or ~10 min. bike ride away. Several buses to downtown and UGA are a 5 min. walk from the house.
