The location of the house was somewhat confusing, as the property sits far back from the road. Upon arrival, we noticed the garage window was broken, which gave an unsettling first impression and made us uncomfortable parking our vehicle there. Additionally, there was no working light on the front porch—possibly to prioritize the security camera—which made accessing the lock even more difficult. The lock itself was very hard to operate and may need to be replaced.Once inside, we were met with a strong smell of fresh paint mixed with a musty odor, which caused one guest to develop a headache. Shortly after, one guest nearly put their foot through a section of unstable flooring in the bathroom. The second bathroom’s toilet was not functional. Although the property manager was responsive initially, they requested detailed troubleshooting from us before visiting and ultimately did not come to address the issue. As a result, we only had one working toilet for the duration of our stay.We also encountered a significant ant problem, which required us to clean up a large number of ants daily. When we requested a later checkout—given that 10:00 a.m. is earlier than the standard 11:00 a.m.—we were told another guest had requested early check-in. Considering the issues we experienced, the misleading presentation of the property, and the maintenance concerns, it is our opinion that this home requires substantial repairs and updates before being suitable for listing as a VRBO rental.
