Girls Weekend Getaway
We had a wonderful weekend! The owner was extremely prompt in answering the few questions we had. The porch was delightful and the sound of the creek was heavenly! The driveway was not at all hard to drive ... even with my 14 year-old minivan! Our only disappointment was that the trail to the falls was harder than we had anticipated. We did not make all the way to the falls ... but there were several areas where we were able to get to the creek and enjoy some "smaller falls". We had a wonderful time relaxing in the creek and enjoying the beautiful nature.
Secluded cabin in a beautiful area.
Stayed a week in late July. Cabin was great, fully equipped and had everything you needed to enjoy your stay, i.e. grill, wifi, coffee maker, pots/pans, tv, large decks, picnic tables, etc.. The stream at the bottom of the drive was fantastic, we spent a lot of time cooling off in the water and exploring the area. We hiked to Abrhams Fall, which is not easy, but it is beautiful. Close to Holsten Lake, where you can rent a boat and spend the day in the water or fishing. Lots of outdoor stuff to do in the area. Close to Bristol, if you need to run into town. Other reviewers mentioned that the drive way was difficult, but it was fine at least in the summer. There is a hair pin turn in the drive way so you have to make a K turn, but it was not a big deal. Would recommend this cabin to others.
The property is incredibly clean. We wanted to hike to the water falls, but we’re highly discouraged by the neighbors in quite an uncomfortable way. Location was well lit for a cabin. We really enjoyed our stay!!!!!
The neighbor at the end of Abrams Falls Road (at the Cul-de-sac) is not visitor friendly because his home was
vandalized few times. Therefore, he is discouraging visitors to the falls by posting warning signs. DO NOT cross over the bridge or
block access to his bridge. DO NOT trespass on his property. His property is over the creek (Right side of the creek when facing
downhill). The trail to the falls is on the LEFT of the creek downhill. He does NOT own the falls or the property where the trail is.
Not exactly what we were looking for...
The ad said the cabinet was handicapped accessible. I'm extremely glad my father did not come, it would have been impossible to get him into the upper portion of the house. The neighbor is extremely unfriendly - we were unable to get to the falls and see any of the advertised views or fish or swim. Total disappointment! On the good note; the cabin was clean and nice, though the furniture was the most uncomfortable we've ever experienced, especially the living room. The driveway was almost inaccessible even with our four wheel drive and it was dry. I can't imagine how you'd get up there in the winter or if it had been raining. The power went out the night before we left, so we were unable to bathe or wash or even make breakfast or coffee the next morning, it was still out when we left.
We had a wonderful stay. We were in Bristol for my daughter's graduation from TOPS, and decided to rent a house. This house was great. We did not have to go anywhere and spend money because we had plenty to do right there at the house. We hiked down the creek, played in the creek at the end of the driveway, relaxed on the porch, and cooked some nice meals in the beautiful kitchen.
Cozy cabin in the woods
We had a great time at this beautiful place. Very nice and clean. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, rocking chairs and gas grille made our stay rest and relax. Hike to the falls is a must. Sad to leave but will be back again.
