I stayed at the Palms and Pines as part of my traveling plans to visit the South of the United States and had an amazing time. It is quiet, relaxing with the sound of the waves in the background, only a few steps away from the beach and is located conveniently close to landmarks in the region. Hanging out on the beach, going for long walks watching the sunset. The inside of the house is more than adequate. You will find everything needed to cook, have a good family night, especially with the pool room downstairs. The street itself is very quiet so kids can run around risk-free. The convenience store is only a few miles down the road and you will find everything needed there, and you will find your choice of seafood close by as well if you are in the mood for it. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get away for a while, whether it's for couples or families with kids of all ages.
We had a great time at Palms and Pines! It took less than a minute to get to the beach. They provided almost everything to enjoy our stay, even things we didn't think of! We really enjoyed the pool table and ping pong table. The area was so quiet and peaceful.
It was about a 30 minute drive to Apalachicola, where we did a little shopping and went out to eat. Fresh seafood, too! We ate shrimp for days. However, the highlight of the trip was taking photos of dolphins fairly close to the shore at sunset.
This was the first vacation our youngest had been on. This was also the first time my dad had been on vacation with me and my family in 20 years. We had a great time. There was lots of room for the seven of us. We also had some friends that were staying at another location in town and they were able to join us for dinner without it feeling crowded. It was nice to be able to get together as a group of 13 without feeling crowded. We are working on planning our vacation for this year. Once we get the dates finalized we will be coming back here to stay.
We are getting closer to our 2016 Vacation at the Palms and Pines and it dawn'd on me to comment on our stay last year (2015). This will be our 3rd vacation at this beach house and each season its just keeps getting better and better. The owners and the managers have constantly upgraded and improved often in reference to submitted reviews. This place has been great since our first stay 3 years ago, and keeps getting better. The beach and the little community compliments the beach house nicely. All in all, a wonderful and very nicely kept place. Bye,--the Wilsons from Canada.
Again, where do we start. This place you call home is a slice of heaven for our family. We planned a return trip to Palms and Pines only this year bringing our children and a very close friend and her family. Last year my husband and I were married on the beach in a beautiful discrete ceremony with close family and friends. This year we were able to celebrate our first yr anniversary with our children and close family and friends there with us. The location is beautiful and well that makes it all the more difficult to describe as I could go on and on. Pam and her family have taken the time and effort into making your dream vacation happen while staying at the Palms and Pines. We ventured over to St. George Island this year and had an amazing time exploring all of its beauties. We went to Apalachicola and had an amazing time walking to each shop. Each shop owner was personable and interested in where we came from, not just the "ok--what are you going to buy" attitude. The property management company is a dream to work with as they really set out to ensure your vacation is stress free. We will always hold Palms and Pines very dear to us for many reasons, but overall this treasure is absolutely amazing. We did family pictures on the beach that have turned out beautiful. We hope you will continue to offer your home for the years to come as we know its a family favorite for us.
This house was perfect for 8 of us with teenagers able to stay downstairs, lots of room for everyone. Easy walk to the beach, nice and quiet, secluded which we were looking for, easy drive to St. George Island as well so lots to do including a game room for the one rainy day we had. We did encounter a few issues which we reported to property management and they were noted or taken care of after we called a couple of times. The dishwasher leaked our second night of our stay and maintenance came and said they would order a new gasket so we just had to leave towels on the floor to catch the water leaking out but we were still able to use it per maintenance. The futon in the Florida room was supposed to have 2 of the kids sleeping on it but we were unable to unfold it due to it being all bent up and maintenance let us know it was ok to use some pressure to open it but we were afraid to do permanent damage so ended up buying an air mattress for the kids instead which they were okay with but not what we had planned on. The grill was completely rusted out on the bottom so we couldn't use it at all but maintenance did bring another one for us to use for the rest of the stay. All of the issues were addressed and hopefully taken care of. We did enjoy our time in Carrabelle and this home once we got the maintenance issues taken care of.
