We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate New Year's Eve in Half Moon Bay and enjoyed our time at the rental home, with plenty of space for our family of 8 adults. The house was lovely, clean and spacious with beautiful ocean views. The host was gracious to allow early check-in and late check-out, and was communicative prior to and during our stay when issues came up. The home was conveniently located down the street from Ritz Carlton. It was also driving distance to the grocery store and downtown area.We ran into a few issues with both dishwashers appearing clogged and having a pool of standing water in both of them, so we didn't use them at all. Fortunately the kitchen was very well-stocked with enough plates and utensils to last us during our short stay. The other issue was the thermostat upstairs wasn't working, so it was pretty chilly in the upstairs bedrooms our first night. When relaying these issues to the host Sonia, she was very responsive and helped in setting the temp for the upstairs thermostat remotely. The check-in instructions and a few reviews mentioned a firepit in the patio, but we did not see any firepit when we were there. Despite these minor issues, we enjoyed our stay overall. I would recommend the host or house cleaner check the dishwashers and thermostat prior to guest check-in. Including directions in the check-in instructions would also be helpful, as Google maps directed us to the back side of the house instead of the front gatehouse entrance.
