This garden-level apartment is blocks away from Downtown, Convention Center, the Capital One Arena & the Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center metro station & a few mins drive to all of DC’s major monuments.

This unit is located on the lower level of our house. It was renovated in 2023 & comes fully equipped with modern appliances & amenities. It’s 4 bed, 2 full baths, half bath & full kitchen set-up is ideal for families & groups. Considering its central location, you won’t want to pass it up!

***This is the lower level unit in a historic DC rowhome that is over 130 years old (built in the 1890s!) so you WILL hear noise (i.e. footsteps) from the upstairs house, as the original floors are squeaky. We provide earplugs and white noise machines in each bedroom for your comfort.***

● There is also a half bathroom by the kitchen
● We provide toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and towels, and there is also a hairdryer and clothes steamer available

● Cooking pots, pans, and utensils are all provided to make meal preparation a breeze

Shaw is one of the city’s hippest enclaves, with craft cocktail bars, beer gardens, indie clothing boutiques and trendy global restaurants. This historically African-American neighborhood is home to the 1910 Howard Theatre, where jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald and D.C. local Duke Ellington once performed. Today the venue hosts all sorts of music concerts and other events.

Home to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Mount Vernon Square is a small area adjacent to its namesake park and the imposing early-1900s Carnegie Library building. The neighborhood is dotted with hotels, sleek bars and upscale New American, Italian and Spanish restaurants, which cater largely to conference-goers and a smartly dressed business crowd.

The ceiling height is about 6 feet 8 inches.

We live in the upstairs house so it’s possible you may see us/others staying upstairs during your stay.

Most of the bedrooms are on the smaller side, ranging from 70 - 80 sq ft. When the trundle beds are pulled out for use, the beds will take up the majority of those rooms. For this reason, we have foldable / collapsible side tables, desks, and chairs which are stored in each room's closet for maximum flexibility.

We are a dog friendly property and we have a phenomenal cleaning team but they are human so there is a possibility for human error, if there is an issue during your stay let us know and we will try to address it!

Parking 🚙
There is usually street parking available in the area. Pay attention to all parking signs to avoid tickets! If you'll have more than one vehicle, there are several parking lots 5-7 mins walking distance from the unit. There are pictures of those options in the listing.

HOUSE RULES
Guests MUST read our entire listing, including our house rules section - booking our home is a legally binding contract that you agree to abide by all rules, disclaimers, and pay any corresponding fees as a result of violations!

***Any intentional violation of house rules may result in added fees and / or immediate termination of the remaining booking without refund.***

***If there are ANY issues during your stay, we MUST be notified immediately.***

***Any damages, additional cleaning fees, rules violations caused by guests / pets (including excessive dog fur, pet waste, makeup stains on white towels, excessive stains on linens, quiet hour disturbances, late checkouts, etc.) will be billed directly to the guest and reported to AirBnB (or other listing channel, as applicable).***

🚭 NO SMOKING - Evidence of smoking will result in a $500 fine (minimum).
This is the starting fee charged for the use of Ozone to remove odors caused by smoking.

🎉⛔ NO PARTIES OR VISITORS: We do not allow parties at the house or allow outside visitors (i.e. those not staying at the property as part of your reservation). Any person entering the property (regardless if they're staying overnight) is considered a guest and is to be reflected in the total guest count. All guests are to be disclosed prior to the start of a stay. No unregistered guests or visitors at any time ($250 fee per person, per occurrence).

🤫 QUIET HOURS 11PM-7AM: You MUST keep noise to a minimum from 11pm to 7am. As a row house the walls are shared with the neighbors. Noise can travel easily, and we are in regular communication with neighbors. We request guests be respectful of the neighbors and quiet hours.

⏰ Check-in / Check-out
Check-in after 4pm / check-out before 10am. The booking guest who is listed on the booking summary must check-in before any other guests may enter the property and must be physically present at check-out. Prior to arrival, booking party must be sure that guests staying at the property are listed in the agreement signed by booking party (this includes human and pet guests). Late check-outs will receive a 15-minute grace period. Late check-outs of more than 15 minutes will be subject to a $100 fine and an additional $100 for each additional hour. We are unable to make changes to our check-in / check-out times as a result of our cleaning team’s schedule that depends on us providing them a window so they can organize their schedule.

🐕 Pets: If staying with a pet(s), please give advance notice with description of pet(s). Prior approval of all pets is required.
We are unable to accommodate animals other than dogs at this time.
• Any and all animals must be pre-approved by owner prior to booking • service animals must be disclosed at the time of booking • up to 2 dogs allowed ($75/dog) • must be housebroken and up-to-date on vaccines • permitted on furniture only if covered • may not be left unattended at any time • back gate must be left closed when not in use • must be leashed in front yard • must comply with all local leash laws

🔍 For any items left behind after a stay, we're happy to send them to you - please note there is a minimum trip fee of $20 for a member of our team to make a trip to send an item (for time, mileage, parking, etc). We are not responsible for items left behind which may be discarded / lost! Please look carefully when checking-out to avoid leaving items behind!

🧴 Please do not take or discard any bottles, even if they're empty (soap, shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover, etc) as we refill them between guests. Replacement fees apply for any and all missing items!

💌 We do not accept any deliveries for guests - DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING TO OUR HOME as it will not be accepted / and will be returned to sender. If you need to have something delivered during your stay, please send it to a nearby Amazon locker, UPS and FedEx have hold package services, etc. We are not responsible for lost / missing deliveries!

🔌 No disconnecting or tampering with wireless router(s), modem, security cameras, smart locks or other electronics - $500 fine (min)

🐞 Pests
We preventatively treat our home. Mosquitoes, flies, bugs, and rodents are part of DC and can't be completely eradicated. Pest sighting does not warrant any refund
