Ocean Front Retreat Cabin

Das Far Cry befindet sich südlich von Cannon Beach, OR, an einer abgelegenen, bewaldeten Straße oberhalb des Strandes und bietet einen uneingeschränkten Blick auf den Pazifischen Ozean. Das nördliche Ende des Strandes ist Cove Beach und bei Ebbe ist eine Höhle zum Arch Cape zugänglich. Im Süden ist Falcon Cove nach Cape Falcon benannt, einer Landzunge, die 750 'in den Pazifischen Ozean ragt. In zwei separaten Schlafzimmern ist Platz für vier Personen für maximal sechs (6) Nächte. Es gibt Wanderwege und viele alte Filme und Spiele, einen großen Kamin, bequeme Stühle zum Entspannen und natürlich 180 Grad Meer direkt vor der Tür. Die Küche ist mit Gewürzen und Kochutensilien bestückt. Frische Bettwäsche erwartet Sie bei Ihrer Ankunft. Willkommen bei Far Cry.

Absolutely stunning view from this home! If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place! Spent a windy and blustery few days. Was super comfortable with all the necessary amenities. WiFi worked well. Kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals. Water was not an issue … just be aware folks we should all be water conscious as we are in drought conditions. Bed was comfortable. And the yard was good for our Labrador. Easy beach access. Look forward to staying here again!

View was tremendous and the cabin could be over the top, but not so much. The unit was not clean. HEAVY DUST all about, on top of the frig, the cloth hooks in the bathroom, the display washcloths etc. The fireplace did not really draw smoke from the room even though the flew was completely open…smoke alarm sounded twice. Had to get fire really hot before that improved. Lights weren’t working near entrance when we arrived. Found the GFCI had tripped. Brighter LED light fixtures would help. The dehumidifier rattles like crazy, very loud. Baseboard heaters are worn out. Only one has a known that worked. System needs updating. I would hang a split air unit in there, tag those baseboard heaters and you’d be golden. Constantly worried about running water and overloading the septic, didn’t happen we were good. Furnishings need updating. It’s obvious some improvements have been made, but could be so much more for not too much money. Food for thought

What a beautiful spot to stay and relax. It was like having our own private beach. The host was easy to communicate with, but we didn't really need to because all the information we needed had been provided. Would definitely stay again.

From the minute we walked through the front door, we knew we had chosen the perfect spot.The cottage was very clean & had everything you could ever need. The view of the ocean couldn't be better. We enjoyed it so much, we were able to extend our stay 2 more nights. We will definitely return!

It was just what we were looking for on our first trip to Pacific NW! The beach was only steps from the house and offered a perfect peaceful setting with no crowds. Nice neighborhood. Long walks at low tide, wave sounds to sleep by and colorful sunsets. Owner very responsive and easy to work with. I wish we lived closer to visit more often!

This place was perfect! The views were incredible and it seemed like you had your own personal beach. It’s private and secluded, yet less than 15 minute drive to Cannon Beach. Definitely recommend!

Good view but many drawbacks to rental

The view is very good. Unfortunately, the heating system, lighting, cabinets (too high for most women), steps (too high and no handrails and water/septic (small capacity, very limited) are lacking. Would work for a young, couple but problematic for older folks, folks with mobility challenges, and families with small children.

Secluded beachfront house.

The description of the property was accurate. Very cute, cozy ocean front property. The beach access is right next door, however, the beach really is only safe during low tide as there is very little beach left which requires you to drive to another beach during the day. The house is comfortable and “beachy”. The low water requirements may hinder you a bit, but with just two of us, we didn’t mind. The property is in an area with few houses and down a narrow road so be prepared for this. We had a big storm and power outage and had trouble finding needed supplies. The views are spectacular and the place is very peaceful.

Wonderful retreat!

We loved our stay with our pups at Cape Arch Far Cry cottage! It is peaceful and so comfortable. We loved having a front row view of the ocean waves. It is also close to Manzanita and Cannon Beach for stores, restaurants and beach walks. It was perfect for our getaway!

Favorite place on the Oregon coast!

We love the far cry cabin. This was I think are 6th stay, and as always it was great! The pelican migration was on and we saw at least 500 fly through. We even had about 80 roust on the beach in front of us for a while. There was even one whale that came through. It’s my favorite place on the Oregon coast.

Our first time on Iregon coast

We live about 50 minutes from ME/NH coast. We couldn’t believe how close you get to the coastline in Oregon and how serene it is. We experienced a wonderful sunset on the back lawn and a walk on the beach in the morning finding crabs, jellyfish, starfish, sand dollars not broken and razor clams. It was close enough to Cannon Beach and Seaside to go out for an early dinner and then enjoy the cozy comfort of music, candlelight and a drink at night. Little issue with the fireplace but it only lasted 40 minutes. Great music, books, games & a stocked essentials kitchen. We brought our dinner in night one and had a light breakfast each morning. I would definitely suggest be prepared! We would definitely return. It’s been our our list for 5 years and we wrapped it up big after a cruise and stay in Seattle. Thank you Carolyn.

Great getaway spot

I'm so happy we stayed at Far Cry for our vacation to the Oregon Coast. The location is simply spectacular - right on a wide, sandy beach, framed by the steep cliffs this coast is known for. Peaceful and quiet - often we were the only souls in sight on the beach. We saw seals, all sorts of seabirds, and sea life galore in the tidepools. The house was perfect for us - it's obvious it's a well-loved family home that's been maintained with dedicated care for many years by Carolyn. My wife's family used to own a small 1950s-era home on the New Jersey coast and this reminded me of that (except this location was far more scenic and less crowded than NJ!) Well stocked with everything you might need, very clear instructions on how to use anything, and more books and movies than you could possibly consume in months. Beautifully decorated as well, including some very nice artwork by the owner herself! Far Cry is a haven and I hope some day we can return.

Buying Far Cry in 1985-86 on New year's Eve was a dream come true. The house was a true fixer. Over the years improvements were made, but the integrity of the 1953 original house was maintained. A strip of the original wall colors was left in the hall way just for fun. Far Cry is in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is private without being too remote . The best part is the 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. I hope you enjoy my little piece of Heaven as much as I do.
