The master bedroom lies downstairs, boasting a king bath with a separate shower and tub. Venture upstairs to discover a loft that has a tree-top feel and a room filled with two double beds plus a twin bed, perfect for the kids' fun sleepovers. Looking for more privacy? Cross the breezeway to your private 3-bedroom sanctuary, featuring two queen beds and a room with one double and one twin bed (the double and twin bed room is accessed thru the queen bedroom), each with a shared hall bathroom. The best part? you are in the center of the island, offering easy access to all its amenities. Hop onto a 4 or 6 passenger golf cart and explore your island paradise!

We had an amazing stay at this home. It was beautiful and had everything we needed. It’s close to the beach, marina where all the restaurants are, and market/ shops! The home was clean and the check in was easy. They even left some treats for our dog! The outside porch screened in was our favorite with the tv and space heaters for the night time. Can’t wait to visit again!

The west side of the house smelled of mildew and mold. Damprid containers and hanging in all rooms closets and many spaces. The island was great and house has a lot of potential. Just needs attention.

The house had everything we needed. It was almost two buildings separated by a porch, one of many. The guest house had three bedrooms. The main house had a master bed room with a great shower and tub in the bathroom. Overhead in a loft were three beds in one room. Place was clean and the 2 golf carts fully charged. Everywhere you looked there was a screened porch. The house is surrounded by deep woods but a short ride to the beach,golf course or docks. We're already planing on trying to rent it again for November 2026.

BHI is just OK

We had a fairly large group (8 adults) and this house seemed like it was going to be a good fit. The house was not cleaned very well when we arrived, so we cleaned it ourselves.Someone actually left their shorts and underwear hanging up outside the master bedroom.Two of the bedrooms are actually connected which made it difficult but we just put two adults in the loft.The loft beds had plastic covers on them which made it extremely hot and noisy to sleep in.The WIFI network needed to be re-setup and neither the property manager nor the owner had any clue as to how this needed to be accomplished.There are quite a lot of outlets in the house that do not work.The ferry system has our biggest concern. Their whole job it to transport people and their luggage. That’s it. If that can’t be accomplished then I consider it a failure.Our shuttle arrived 20 minutes late to pick us up to head off the island. We made our ferry with plenty of time. When we arrived at the marina in Southport we were told that our luggage is still on the island and didn’t make it because they were full. That’s why you make the reservation! So our luggage didn’t make it to the station for another hour and a half. Normally I wouldn’t care, but we had

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Groovy Grove. We have full-time staff on the island and wish we had been notified that the house was not cleaned to your satisfaction upon arrival. Had we known, we would have immediately sent someone to address it, as we strive to meet the high standards our guests expect. Regarding the other issues mentioned, we will have our maintenance team inspect the outlets. While the ferry system is beyond our direct control, had we been aware of the situation at the time, we might have been able to assist you in reaching the ferry on schedule. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.

Overall my family and I had an excellent time at Groovy Grove! The common spaces were very comfortable for our large group. Loved how secluded it was in the beautiful shady forest. 3 golf carts, very convenient! The newest golf cart had 2 completely bald tires upon our arrival (the front 2). The 2nd day we drove it, one of the front tires popped. The rental company was helpful but it took like 3 days to get it repaired, so that was about half our stay.A few pain points - - My husband, daughter (3yo), and I stayed in the primary bedroom. It does not have a fully closing door - it's like mini french doors with a frosted contact paper type covering on the glass panes. You'd close the door and it would "float" open slightly. Not ideal if you are seeking full privacy or trying to create the most quiet environment for a toddler's nap. - The washer and dryer are in the primary bathroom. Washer is front-loading and is in serious need of a de-molding. We used it anyway but all the gaskets were gross.- There are 2 wooden stools in the kitchen, both extremely wobbly - they should be tightened up or replaced entirely.- The trash can in the kitchen was step-to-open. The foot pedal was gone so it was just a metal rod that you had to step on (not possible with bare feet). We had to tuck the trash can away in the room behind the kitchen because I was afraid my 3-year-old would hurt herself on the metal piece sticking out. Again this is something they should replace.

Regarding the golf cart, the rental company did not have the necessary tires in stock, which caused a delay while waiting for parts. As we advertise two carts for this property, the other two remained available for your use. We are also addressing the other issues you mentioned—including the primary bedroom door, the washer gaskets, the kitchen stools, and the trash can—to ensure they are resolved.
