One Bedroom Bungalow
Located a short walk from Little Lyford Ponds and nestled within 100,000 acres of conserved land, Little Lyford Pond Cabins is operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club, the country’s oldest recreation and conservation organization. Staying at Little Lyford will provide opportunities to hike, bike, ski, fish and paddle out your front door. Your stay supports the AMC’s ongoing conservation efforts.
This cabin is a single room with a double bed, a twin bed, a bunkbed, an unroofed, unscreened porch, a table, chairs, and a woodstove. Linens and towels are not provided. Pillows are provided with a pillow case. There is no electricity in the cabin. Cell service is poor and there is no internet available on campus. There are propane lights for illumination in the evening, but a headlamp or flashlight is strongly recommended.
This cabin does not have a private bathroom. A shared bathroom with composting toilets, hot running water for showers and sinks is a short walk away. A shared sauna can be lit by staff upon request.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included with rental of this cabin. All meals are served in the main lodge which also has a living room which includes a library and small retail store. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style while lunch is a bag lunch provided immediately after breakfast to take on your adventure for the day. We can accommodate major dietary restrictions.
The drive to Little Lyford takes you on gated logging roads which can be difficult to pass after major rain events in early June and late October. The roads are accessed through a gate operated by a third party which closes at 9:00pm. Arrivals after that time are not permitted. RVs, ATV and motorcycles are not permitted past the gate.
Free use of our fleet of canoes and kayaks is included in your stay and can be launched off our boat slip on Little Lyford Pond. You can swim off the boat slip but there is no sandy beach area available. If you intend to swim or boat, please bring your own beach towel.
There is a single campfire ring in camp with benches, and chairs. Firewood is provided and staff will light the fire upon request.
Our staff is knowledgeable about local recreation opportunities and point you in the right direction for gravel biking adventures, hiking trips, fishing spots, ski tours and great locations to spot local flora and fauna on land and on the water. Natural history presentations are often offered on site as well.

The Appalachian Mountain Club is the nation's oldest conservation and recreation organization, committed to fostering the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. The AMC operates cabins and lodges throughout the Northeast in locations that offer tremendous outdoor recreation opportunities. All revenues generated by these locations go back to our efforts to protect and support the enjoyment of the outdoors.
Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft
The Appalachian Mountain Club has purchased over 100,000 acres in the 100 Mile Wilderness of Maine to protect that land from development while still allowing access for traditional uses such as hiking, fishing, hunting, snow machining and logging.
