Die Shell Villa liegt versteckt in der Turtle Bay an der Südküste von Antigua, westlich des Hafens von Falmouth. Genießen Sie absolute Privatsphäre und Ruhe, während Sie auf dem großen Deck am Meer sitzen und die spektakulären Sonnenuntergänge bei sanft rauchendem Montserrat betrachten. Umgeben von atemberaubenden Ausblicken auf das Meer und die sanften Hänge rund um die Rendezvous-Bucht ist kein einziges Gebäude der Aussicht abträglich - ein sehr privates Stück Paradies.

Die Villa ist komplett ausgestattet und möbliert und verfügt über einen wöchentlichen Garten-, Pool- und Reinigungsservice. Die Gärten und das Tauchbecken (mit Sonnendeck und Grill) sind mit wunderschönen Bougainvillaea, Hibiskus und Palmen bepflanzt.

Die Shell Villa ist autark und umweltfreundlich und verfügt über Sonnenkollektoren mit Notstromaggregat sowie über Stromnetz. Die Spannung beträgt in den USA 110/60 Zyklen. Zusätzlich können Sie in der großen Wasserzisterne reines Regenwasser zum Trinken, Duschen usw. genießen.

Das sanfte Wellenrauschen am Ufer wiegt Sie in den Schlaf und begrüßt Sie wieder, wenn Sie mit diesem wunderbaren karibischen Morgenlicht aufwachen. Ein kurzer Spaziergang entlang der Turtle Bay führt Sie zu einem kleinen Kiesstrand mit Muscheln und zahlreichen Seevögeln.

Während die Zeit, die Sie in der Villa verbringen, für eine ruhige Abgeschiedenheit sorgt, gibt es in der näheren Umgebung viel zu tun. Falmouth Harbour und Nelsons Dockyard in English Harbour (UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe) sind fünf Autominuten von der Villa entfernt. Sie werden von einigen der fabelhaftesten Yachten der Welt besucht - fangen Sie sie mit einem Fernglas, während Sie von Shell Villa aus majestätisch über den Ozean segeln. A paradisal villa. Absolutely stunning views, even better than the pictures! We always had fresh sea breezes (didn't need to use the aircon at all), and there's plenty of shade for lazing all day long. There's a well-equipped kitchen too. Claire (housekeeper) was always available for any queries, and couldn't have been more helpful. All in all, a magical stay. Highly recommended.

10! Rent this villa! Clare and Nathan have every detail perfectly attended to! They are available all the time! The villa has amazing sunsets and a great kitchen and restaurants are close! This was the best villa we have stayed at. The birthday celebrations were breathtaking and my best friend was in tears on arrival because Clare had decorated it beautifully and provided champagne and cake!!! We will be back. Dream Vacation

We had an amazing time at Shell Villa and it took our breath away when we arrived. The views, the decor, the open air living, everything. It was perfect for our family. We especially loved the outdoor eating area where we could begin our days together and plan our excursions. Then end our days around the pool, cooking out or just relaxing and watching the sun set. Valentino picked us up and was so incredibly welcoming and shared some wonderful information about the island on the drive to Shell Villa. Then we were greeted by Clare and Nathan who gave us a wonderful tour of the house and were super responsive during the week if we had any questions. This is an amazing property and we'd come back!

Lovely stay at Shell Villa

We were at Shell Villa for 9 days with some friends and our infant son. The highlight of this property is its location and its views! Every day you get greeted with some amazing views of either Montserrat or the many sailboats that cruise through. David & Jenny were super communicative and provided us with copious amounts of information to prepare us for a seamless stay. Once on the ground,Clare and Nath were amazing local contacts who went above the call of duty to ensure a memorable stay. Can't recommend Shell Villa enough! We would definitely return.

Wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic time. Beautiful property directly on the water. Picked up by Valentino (arranged by owners) who quickly brought us to the house. Upon arrival we met the super nice caretakers. You do need a rental SUV as there is nowhere to walk to. The road to the villa is rough- be sure to get an SUV. Wishing we had gone with the company suggested by the owners as Avis “ran out” of SUV’s at the airport. Villa is well equipped and was the perfect setting for a relaxing week. Best for guests with knowledge of the area. We never left the English Harbor village as everything we needed was within 10 minutes. Can’t wait to return!

Simply the best we’ve had

Who wouldn’t want a totally private cottage right on the water with huge yachts and sailboat going by? My wife and I found this cottage to be well equipped in the kitchen and the owners provided a nice supply of food to start the stay. The beds were great and though the bedrooms are air conditioned we preferred the ceiling fan and hearing the ocean waves crashing on the rocks. We found we loved staying on the deck by the pool so much that we shortened our beach stays to return to the comforts of the cottage. Clare, the manager of the property was great and even had our first night’s dinner waiting for us when we arrived. Overall, this property is an incredible value. It is a 10 out of 10.

Wonderful

The Shell Villa was everything as described and more. Clare and Nathan (the property managers) and Valentino (the driver) were very friendly and welcoming. Clare and Nathan responded quickly when we had any questions or needed something. It was so nice to have items in the refrigerator to get us started when we arrived. The house was very clean and comfortable. The pool is well maintained and the deck was very comfortable for lounging and dining. It was nice to sit outside and the watch the sun set in the evening and view the stars at night. There are great views of the bay. The grounds were well tended and full of nice flowering plants and birds. The grill is state of the art and you get a great view as you cook. We are definitely interested in returning to the Shell Villa.

Could not have been better!!!!

From the booking process to the communication from Jenny and David and all the way through leaving the island was perfect. Valentino greeted us as the airport and was a wealth of knowledge. Clare and Nathan welcomed us at the home and gave us additional guidance which helped greatly. While driving was unique, the rental jeeps got us across the island. The home was perfectly located, no more than 35 minutes from anything and had everything we needed. The pool was used every day and the views were unimaginable each and every night. Highly recommend staying at Shell Villa and if we return, we will look here first. Thank you again to everyone, it was a perfect holiday because of the attention by all involved. Only bad part was returning to 22-degree Fahrenheit back in the states. Chris

expectations exceeded - great stay!

Everything about our stay at Shell Villa was fantastic. Great snorkeling, swimming, hiking, cooking, grilling, sleeping, resting, and visiting. Amazing star gazing, We were treated to Venus rising each evening and the beginnings of the Perseid meteor showers with shooting starts galore! Sunsets and shady cool mornings on the deck in the luscious tropical garden. The humming birds hummed as the ocean birds flew overhead and Montserrat floated over the horizon. Kitchen well stocked and open, perfect for families like us who don't like to eat out much. We had a couple of normal small minor issues and rental team was very speedy in response. All communication was swift and articulate. House is nicely renovated and new feeling. Nothing about this property rental disappointed! Thank you Jenny and David, and thanks also to Nathan and Clare!

Truly a special spot…..

Shell Villa is the perfect getaway ! Accommodations were exactly as described - well appointed kitchen with all the basic needs and then some. Appreciated a few first thing in the morning necessities provided at our arrival, as well as spices and condiments present/left for our use. The villa was exceptionally clean. The opportunity to have open air and a view of the sea all day (til the evening bugs arrived) was refreshing. Daily visits and feeding the bananquits and grackles, watching the ship/yacht activity ( phone app Boat Watch-Ship Tracking), the evening sounds of the frogs and the gentle roll of the tides all soothed our souls. A very peaceful, quiet spot. Roads in are pretty rough - be prepared and take your time driving in - we avoided night driving. Nathan, Clare and Shervon all made us feel welcome and were quick to respond to our questions/requests. It was the best time !

Family vacation

We had an amazing stay at Shell Villa with our two adult children. Clare (the property manager) welcomed us to the villa when we checked in and gave us information about the property and the local attractions. The house is right on the water and has stunning views from the pool and deck and living areas of the house. Breezes from the ocean and the sound of waves fills every room of the house. The kitchen was well provisioned and we enjoyed cooking several family meals on nights when we wanted to enjoy the sunset view and deck instead of going to local restaurants. The information that was provided about the house and the English Harbor neighborhood was helpful throughout our stay. The house was very clean and beautifully outfitted with everything we needed, including beach chairs and umbrellas for our excursions. I highly recommend Shell Villa for a family vacation or a gathering of couples or friends. The three bedrooms are private with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. We absolutely loved our time at Shell Villa and are already thinking about a return visit.

We had a wonderful time at the villa. The house is lovely, and the setting is exquisite. It is very well maintained, and quite comfortable. because of the way that the house is situated, we felt like we were on our own private island - sitting on the front patio, we could not see houses anywhere, and felt intruded upon when the occasional boat or yacht went by in the distance. The cooking facilities were fine - and there was a sufficient quantity of staples that we did not have to stock everything to mnake meals (and we replaced items we used or at least provided equivalent value before we left). We had 4 people in the house in 2 bedrooms. The house handled that many easily - we never felt that we were in ewch other's way. We even set up the master bedroom patio so that it was private to us alone. The trip to Rendezvous Bay is even more arduaous than I had expected even in a Pathfinder; I would not choose to do that regularly - or more than once, actually. I highly recommend Shell Villa, and would return without any hesitation whatsoever.

Relaxing Paradise

This place is paradise. We loved how close it is to the ocean and it has big storm windows along the side of the house so that when cooking it can feel as if your on the sea. I often felt like we were in a house boat, it is so close to the water. We still miss the music at night of the waves crashing and the frogs billowing with happiness. We also loved the pool, convenient for cooling off mid chapter. This home has a wonderful feel, super remote, yet only minutes from town. The people of Antigua are so gracious and beautiful, more so than any island I've visited, we felt safe and welcomed. We drove down the rocky road to rendezvous beach and got our rental car stuck just before dark and sent a text to Clair, within 15 mins here came Nathan with a tow rope and pulled us out. They (the hosts) were always available to answer our silly touristy questions with humor and we felt well cared for. We both could go on and on about how much we loved this house and island and are already planning to come back next year. Thank you so much for sharing your spectacular home!

This property has it all, it’s well equipped, has excellent property management and the owners are very easy to communicate with. The views over the Caribbean seas are beautiful, the sound of the waves are very relaxing to listen to and it is so private, in most seating areas you literally cannot see another property and even on the day beds/deck it’s just a few properties on the hill in the distance. It’s a long bumpy track from the main road so definitely recommend a 4x4/SUV but you soon learn where the worst pot holes and bumps are. The property itself is lovely, the kitchen well equipped and you can tell that this is the owners Caribbean retreat and not just a run of the mill vacation rental. The air conditioning in the bedroom was a god send, even with the great trade winds you receive so close to the ocean, the humidity so was intense having a cool room to sleep in was a must. The pool is a great place to cool off and the BBQ area would be great for a large group to dine, but as there was only two of us we really couldn’t make full use of the property facilities. This property is perfect for the larger or extended family vacation, especially with the newly built shell cottage at the back. We even had a tropical storm whilst we were there, the property managers where very proactive in making sure the property and furniture were all secure incase it got too intense, they even made up the bed upstairs in shell cottage just incase we were concerned about the ocean, however I watched the waves getting bigger and bigger as the storm approached and the rock breakers on the shore do a very good job of dissipating even the largest of waves, long before they got to the last protection of the mangroves at the bottom of the garden. The restaurants in Falmouth harbour are definitely worth visiting and there are plenty of things to see and do in the local area. Shopping wise there are a few smaller supermarkets locally within 10 minutes drive that sell the basics but it’s worth drive to St. John’s and visiting the epicurean if you want to do a full shop as this place is huge and has everything you may want or need, it’s also cheaper than the local supermarkets. We went to the Sunday Shirley Heights music/BBQ evening, music and drinks were good but I wasn’t overly impressed with the food. If you choose to do this i would say plan to eat before or after and just enjoy the drinks and entertainment. Overall I would recommend this property and give it 5*

Ocean view

We were are amazed with the house. Great time. The managers were so nice, it DID NOT disapoint. Our only issue was the roads in. Other than that it was great. Anyone going there will relax by pool and ocean, the breezes coming in thru the windows, relaxing was my favorite thing to do. Thank you so much.

Heaven on earth

From the moment we booked, the experience was amazing. The owners were super, staff excellent and the villa was everything and more than expected. The view from the villa was the best and we would not hesitate to recommend this slice of heaven.

Absolutely the Best

We couldn't have wished for anywhere more perfect for our long awaited trip to Antigua. Shell Villa is a beautiful property in a stunning location. It's so quiet and private - all you can hear is the sound of the waves which are right at the bottom of the garden! The villa itself is really well appointed with an excellent kitchen and super comfy beds. The pool and sun deck complete with outdoor kitchen were perfect for days at home and the views across to Monserrat and the passing super yachts are amazing. Falmouth Harbour with shops and restaurants is just a short drive away which is great for dinners out and stocking up on supplies. The property was completely spotless and well organised when we arrived and was looked after by lovely staff during our stay. The owners of Shell Villa together with Nathan and Clare who manage the property made us feel so welcome and everything about visiting was really easy and straightforward. Our only complaint was that we had to eventually leave!

We lived in Antigua during the 1980s and loved it. We have been returning regularly since then and have been looking at property, In 2002 we fell in love with Shell Villa at first sight.It is right on the ocean, with unbelievable views over the undeveloped south of Antigua and across to the neighbouring island of Montserrat - home to an active volcano some 12 miles away. We are far enough away to never feel ill effects but close enough to enjoy the wonderful sunsets it generates. Shell Villa is set in a third of an acre and the garden is one of our joys - allowing us to grow palms and other tropical plants. In our absence the house is looked after by an English couple - Clare and Nathan - who live locally and a team of wonderful helpers - Daphne our Dominican maid and 'Juicy' our Antiguan gardener - sometime winner of Antigua farmer of the year.

Shell Villa is literally on the ocean. In 2006 we built a deck which takes us right to the high water line of Turtle Bay - wonderful for sunbathing and also for sipping cocktails and watching the sun set, as well as star gazing after dark.

We took advantage of the pandemic to upgrade the kitchen and refurbish the pool. We also built a two storey cottage in the garden to provide two extra bedrooms and a full bathroom. The cottage has its own kitchenette and covered porch. It is available for parties of more than 6 or for those who pay a $150 per nigh summplment.

The sound of the waves is always there - soothing and relaxing. They rock you to sleep at night and wake you each morning to a wonderful new day.
