Designed by world-renowned architect William Cody and built by Paul Trousdale in 1959, the Racquet Club Cottages West, formally known as the Racquet Club Garden Villas were originally part of Racquet Club.
This post and beam constructed home is a testament to true mid century design, every inch of this villa has been updated with the utmost respect to the historic design philosophy of Mid Century Modern design.
The gated community of 37 condos is nestled in a peaceful oasis.
The living room furnishings are a true testament of Mid Century Modern design. The beautifully decorated open concept living area features a comfortable living and dining space.
The sleek kitchen features walnut cabinets, stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar and everything you may need to make a home cooked meal.
There is a Fuego Grill on the patio adjacent to the dining area.
In the primary bedroom, you'll find a king bed, a writing desk, a dresser and a closet. A sliding glass door leads to the peaceful private patio with an outdoor shower. The primary bathroom features a large walk-in shower.
In the second bedroom, you’ll find a comfortable queen size bed, a dresser and a closet. The second bathroom also has a walk-in shower and is located directly across the hall from the bedroom.
Highlights include: 3 patios, mid century modern decor and floor to ceiling glass walls throughout. Resort-style amenities include a large pool and a hot tub, with expansive views of the San Jacinto Mountains.
In the laundry room off the dining room is a washer/dryer, and a full size fridge/freezer. Guests can find parking in a guest parking spot out front.
With pathways and streams through lush grounds, and the extensive pool area, this mid-century modern private oasis is truly unique.
A Little History:
Construction began in 1959 led by builder Paul Trousdale, who also developed the famous Trousdale Estates in Beverly Hills. The landscaped design is by Philip A. Shipley, a landscape architect to celebrities such as Walt Disney, Frank Sinatra and Steven Spielberg.
The Racquet Club Villas West received a prestigious Palm Springs Historic District Designation listing in 2013.

Cars Permitted – 2
No smoking on the premises
No outdoor music at all; no excessive noise of any kind
Two additional children 12 years old or younger permitted
Up to 1 pet permitted
Pet fee is $150.
**By City of Palm Springs Ordinance, the following are required to rent a short term rental in the city:
1. Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age.
2. Primary renter must provide a copy of his/her government issued I.D. prior to check-in. A copy of I.D. is kept on file while guest is at property and will be shared with Vacation Rental Compliance Officials on demand as required by law.
3. Responsible party (primary renter) is required to sign a short term rental agreement (contract).
4. All guests are required to print and sign names to City of Palm Springs confirmation that Good Neighbor Brochure has been read and understood by all adult occupants (this will be emailed with the rental agreement).
5. No more than 2 adults per bedroom (4 max) are allowed to occupy the home overnight with 2 additional guests allowed during daytime hours. An additional 2 children under the age of 12 are allowed per rental.
6. No more than 1 car per bedroom are allowed to be parked at the house overnight with 1 additional car allowed during daytime hours (4 cars max)
7. Trash must be kept in the provided receptacle out of public view.
8. Dogs are to be kept on a leash at all times when not in the home or in the confined space of the property. Dogs are to be kept from barking. A consistently barking dog is considered a nuisance.
9. Outdoor music is prohibited 24 hours per day. It is further expected that noise created at the home will not be audible beyond the property line. Quiet time is between 10pm and 10am.
10. DECORATIONS: Only Painters Tape allowed on the walls. NO confetti or glitter as you know it's impossible to remove & unfair to our lovely housekeepers. Any leftover decor, balloons, etc. or damage on the walls or anywhere that is not normal wear & tear, will incur an extra cleaning/damage fee taken from the deposit
