Great family trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed our summer vacation! It was our third trip to Cinnamon Beach and our first stay in L.A. Enjoyed the lagoon views and the ocean view from the balcony. The house looks new or nicely renovated and we enjoyed the decor. Plenty of room for all 9 of us and our 3 vehicles. The grill, beach chairs, bikes, and beach carts were a definite plus! The private pool was nice, although could have used a cleaning before we arrived. The only thing that was 4 stars instead of 5 was a bit of hair/dog hair in two sets of the beds. All else was clean.

.House was beautifully decorated & well equipped with anything you could possibly need. We had an issue with the fire alarm going off (very little sleep) for 2 nights but the gentleman we talked to was so helpful & understanding about our 2 a.m. call. After 2nd night of dealing with it we cut off the breaker. A gentleman was there the next morning & plans to replace the system. All in all we loved it & appreciate both the owner and managing property people! We’ll definitely be back!

Relaxing

My husband and I read all of the reviews before booking a house with Homeaway so I try to make my reviews as accurate as possible for anyone else wanting to book. The house is beautiful and the layout was perfect for our family. My parents are older so the elevator was fantastic. There are a couple of reasons that I rated it a 4 instead of a 5. In the pictures of the property, there is a walkway to the beach seen from the balcony. This is a public access but is not accessible from the house due to private property. The beach access for South of Charleston is only a block and a half away but we were disappointed that the pictures were a little misleading. There were plenty of utensils and pots and pans, we also enjoyed the convenience of a coffee pot as well as a Kuerig, however, all of the knives were extremely dull and the can opener was useless. I know this seems like minor issues, but just want future renters to know. Last item about the house is that the doors to the balconies are difficult to open due to corrosion from salt air. As far as the area, be prepared to cook most meals at home because there is only 1 seafood restaurant in the area that we could find. Also, aside from the pools (which are extremely nice) there are no activities for children. We wanted to ride bikes or play putt putt but the only bike rentals are up on A1A which is not convenient to go rent and ride back to the resort. All in all it was a great vacation and the house was amazing. The wildlife in the back yard was entertaining. There are plenty of birds and there were otters in the lake which we enjoyed watching so it was a peaceful vacation. We probably will not return to Cinnamon Beach simply because we enjoy going out to eat and shopping the local area. I hope this review helps!

South of Charleston

Our family loves the area, neighborhood, location and amenities. We have tried to rent this property many times and it has always been booked on the dates we requested. Upon arrival we were disappointed immediately by the condition of the property, there were visible issues such as loose and falling hand rail at stairs, worn furniture covered in pet hair and shower drains clogged with hair. The property manager was contacted and responded in a timely manner to those issues , later that evening we discovered the pool light was out. We contacted maintenance and they were going to check on it , the light was not repaired and we were unable to enjoy the pool with our family in the evenings. I will say that the neighborhood is amazing and we have enjoyed spending our vacations here in the area, the house needs maintenance and the pics/ description of this property are deceiving and disappointing.

Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival any this property there were several issues that were immediately noticed..... the stair handrail was loose and falling off the wall, worn upstairs living room furniture, pet hair on furniture and pillows and clogged shower drains. We contacted management and they responded to the issues in a timely manner, however as we settled in more issues became evident. One of the reasons we rented the property was for the pool ... the pool light was out and never was repaired during our stay causing or family not to be able to enjoy the dark pool in the evenings, really disappointed. This property was not at all what we expected, we love the area and the community but we will not be staying or recommending this property in the future.

Best Vacation!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a great house! Our family of 6 was overwhelmed with the beautifully decorated house the perfectly suited our needs. We especially enjoyed the pool area and upper porch where we ate breakfast every day and could see the ocean and feel the breeze to keep us comfortable. The only problem we had was that the a/c unit in the master bedroom was out when we arrived. Property manager, John Sullivan was a dream. He moved two of us to another house until the unit was repaired the next day! Superb service! And he kept checking to be sure everything was fixed. We have had trouble with other managers of at other properties where the whole vacation was marred by the memory of things gone wrong and no solutions. Not so with John! He would be one of the reasons we would rent again! Our only complaint was the master bed was a bit hard. It was a beautiful property and we would highly recommend it !

Beautiful Home!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is gorgeous, spacious and close to the beach and family pool! We had a group of 8 of us (6 adults and 2 kids) and it worked out perfectly! The pool at the unit was pretty cool but maybe because it was April, guessing it's a bit warmer during summer months. Also, an arcade game in the basement but it doesn't work. The house was stocked with everything you needed beside groceries. I would highly recommend this house in Cinnamon Beach.

Lots to Like with a Few Issues

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is overall a nice home in a beautiful community. This was our second stay at South of Charleston and one of many visits to Cinnamon Beach. The house has a few issues that could easily be addressed such broken screen doors, dusty ceiling vents, stained mattress, rusty outdoor furniture with dirty cushions, tired living room sofas. The location is great; however, lots of construction around the community with noisy vehicles and right now a porta potty almost in the front yard which won’t last forever. Loved the ocean and lake views from master balcony. Great tv’s, master suite, guest rooms, kitchen and a kids suite. Ocean Hammock gate access is cumbersome and intrusive requiring driver license numbers from your guests to obtain passes that must be shown at each entry. CBVACATIONS was great about getting what we needed for them. Will visit again in the future but not until some attention is paid to the rough edges in this house and construction at least next door is finished and slowing down around the community.
