Die New Dawn Foundation ist ein gemeinnütziges, ganzheitliches Gesundheitszentrum, das sich in einem historischen Gutshaus befindet und eine Anlage für kleine Gruppen oder Firmen bietet. Unsere atemberaubende Aussicht auf das Wasser und die romantische Umgebung sind perfekt für Leute, die nicht-kommerzielle Entspannung und Ruhe suchen, nur 18 Meilen von NYC entfernt. Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir KEIN Boutique-Hotel sind und auch nicht die Dienstleistungen einer 5-Sterne-Ferienimmobilie anbieten. Dieses Haus der alten Welt wurde 1900 erbaut, als wohlhabende New Yorker für Sommerferien nach Davenport Neck kamen. Seit vielen Jahren wurde es von den Mt. Besitz Sinai School of Nursing für Exerzitien und es wurde ein Non-Profit-Retreat-Center im Jahr 2000.

HOCHZEITEN: Paare möchten im New Dawn heiraten. Bitte beachten Sie jedoch Folgendes: Wir sind nicht in Zelten eingeteilt, wir haben nur 30 Parkplätze, und Sie wären ohne Zelt dem Wetter ausgeliefert. Im Erdgeschoss können drinnen 40-50 Personen für einen Stehempfang und 35 Personen für ein sitzendes Abendessen Platz finden.

Zu den Highlights des Geländes gehören eine Steinmauer, ein altes Teehaus aus Stein, ein Portikus, umlaufende Terrassen und Gärten. Schöne Sonnenaufgangs- und Sonnenuntergangansichten über dem Wasser.

Höhepunkte des Innenraums sind die Original-Tiffany-Buntglas-Fenster, Holz & Leder getäfelten Speisesaal, Keramik Kamine und Einbau-Fensterbänken, nicht einen atemberaubenden Blick auf Long Island Sound zu schweigen von den meisten Zimmern.

Die Schlafzimmer können insgesamt 20 Personen über Nacht schlafen in 13 Betten. Maximalbelegung für Tagesveranstaltungen im Freien 60, in Innenräumen im Erdgeschoss 60 Stehen.

Die Preise hängen von der Anzahl der Personen und der beabsichtigten Verwendung ab.

Relaxing and historically beautiful

We booked this home for seven adults and had plenty of room! Everyone remarked on how lovely the house was in the location on the water. Great communication with the property owner. We went into the city most days and this was a great place to come back to all the comforts of Home and More!

Lovely and comfortable stay for family reunion

Very comfortable stay with lots of room to spread out. Interesting older house with many unique features. We were happy to learn that they recently installed a new furnace and a dishwasher. Lots of cookware and dishes. We spread out over two dining rooms for mealtime which worked well for us.

Serene & Peaceful Setting

We stayed at the New Dawn for a Memorial Service. The setting on the water was so peaceful and private, yet easy access for those of us traveling by public transportation from Manhattan and La Guardia airport. We had chairs lined up facing the water for a Celebration of Life Ceremony. The whole downstairs layout was just wonderful with indoor and outdoor areas for people to gather, sharing memories and grief. Food platters from Costco were easily arranged and the weather was perfect. It was so quiet at night, and the beds were very comfy. Loved all the views and old world charm.

Excellent location and beautiful outdoor views

The house was perfect for our family gathering. The views are amazing and the outdoor area is incredibly beautiful. The history of the property is unique and makes for a special place. The only downsides are that the AC units took a while to get the house cooled off, and the pots / pans weren't super clean (there's no dishwasher). The house is old - built in 1900 - so there's lots of intricacies that come with an older place. But besides that there's lots of beds and rooms to sleep a large group, and the outdoor views are unbeatable.

Old house, beautiful location on the Sound in New Rochelle, NY. The owners are a not-for-profit who are kind and helpful throughout. House is old and has lovely period touches. House well stocked with linen and towels; kitchen had all items needed. Suggestions: 1. Some of the bathrooms do not have latches or locks. Needs to be fixed. 2. Some sinks slow to drain. 3. A dishwasher would be a great addition. 4. Uber found it difficult to find the house. They either overshot it or fell short of the house. Also signage on Davenport Avenue needs to be larger and easier to spot while driving. All in all, a great stay for our family.

Clean, Spacious and Professionally Run!

If you want to host a large group (10-15 people) and want to do so in a place that feels like home, this house is perfect! It has a wonderful worn and rustic feel while still being modern enough and well-maintained. It is definitely lived in but very clean with all of the necessary amenities and appliances like microwaves, blow dryers, coffee makers and things like that. We had a group of about 7 with some visiting workshop leaders throughout our 3-day stay and the home never felt crowded. There was plenty of space to spread out and if we did get crowded we could have easily held some of our workshops outside. The porch is pretty spacious and so is the lawn. I was provided with a very detailed welcome packet of house rules and instructions on how to access/use everything. The wifi does not extend to the 3rd floor, but that was communicated to us before we arrived, so we were prepared to work around that. If I could offer any advice to the next guests I would say 1) be mindful that finding the location will be tricky for folks like Uber drivers or visitors. So you might consider bringing an outdoor sign or banner to place at the mailbox at the beginning of the road that heads back to the house. 2) we had a minor inconvenience when booking due to the booking calendar not being correct. So I would reach out for assurance that your preferred dates are truly available before making any plans. But other than that, it was a 5 star experience for rustic house living!

NOT for overnight stays. Needs big renovation

If there was an option for zero stars..... We booked what looked like a beautiful historic home for our Thanksgiving trip to NYC and were disappointed to arrive at a poorly kept home in need of major renovations. They did a good job taking pictures that make it seem nicer than it is but all of the windows are about as old as the century old house, the kitchen stove only had one burner that worked which probably was just enough to warm up the mouse we saw run across the floor in there. I can imagine it could be a nice place to host an event but if you're looking to stay here overnight for a vacation LOOK ELSEWHERE! The bathrooms all had mold, the kitchen was a bit of a nightmare and we were freezing all night, even with a thermostat and room heaters in every room. The house was very drafty, a fact which the owners only told us about 2 days before our arrival. There was a rain and snow storm the night we arrived and by morning the pond had overflowed, flooding the road back out. If we hadn't been in an SUV we would have been stranded. We told the owners it was too cold and drafty to stay, not to mention the rodent and mold problems and we left first thing in the morning. Save yourself and find somewhere else with honest owners who dont try to trick you with pictures and emails disclosing problems after you've already booked.

Wonderful repeat stay.

Second time our 24 person family group stayed here, and if anything, it was even better than last year! The location is exceptional, a quiet, private beautiful Victorian era house right on the Sound. The house is roomy, immaculate and very well equipped. Nancy is on top of everything and responds essentially immediately to any and every concern. A Charming Stay in a Historic and Beautiful Home

I recently spent a couple of days celebrating my birthday with friends in this place, and it was an unforgettable experience. The house was beautifully furnished with a rich, wooden interior and stunning Tiffany stained glass windows. The expansive lawn offered breathtaking views of the bay, and the cozy pergola provided the perfect spot for relaxation. The elegant tableware added a touch of sophistication to our meals. Overall, it was a charming and memorable stay in a truly special setting. Nancy, the host, was incredibly gracious and responsive throughout our stay. She promptly answered all of my questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Her warmth and attentiveness truly enhanced our experience. I wish continued prosperity to the The New Dawn Foundation supporting this wonderful property. Their efforts in preserving and maintaining such a beautiful place are truly commendable.

Memorable

We had the most amazing time during our stay. We were able to really enjoy the home for it's characteristics and beautiful views. It was the perfect fall weekend with the trees starting to change, low tide and gorgeous sunset on the sound. The house is a lot to take in at first. There are lots of rooms, stairs and bathrooms, but after a while you find your place and get comfortable. It's close to several restaurants, fast food chains, so you shouldn't have an issue finding nice places to eat.

Overview of New Dawn Foundation

My family stayed at New Dawn for 3 nights. Amazing location and very relaxing. The home is very big and is very relaxing. Some things to consider: the refrigerator is old and not very clean, there is not a dishwasher. There are no electrical outlets in most of the bathrooms and the wiring is not updated . I would not let that deter you from staying because the setting and character of the home outweigh the negatives,

Great Experience

Staying at New Dawn was a great experience. Communication with Nancy was great and I was even able to view the property before staying there. We used the property and space for a family reunion and had 2 large family gatherings there. It was in a great location for our family that lives nearby and perfect for the large amount of people who travelled from further away. There was space to sit inside and outside which made hosting everyone easy. The 2 fridges helped with keeping the drinks cold and storing food for the family that stayed there. My family and I had a great experience and recommend this place to others.

Gorgeous home but Mixed Feelings

Property was definitely memorable. A very historic home built in the 1800’s with a lot to discover and explore. The family would have been happy but the bathrooms and kitchen left us all very disappointed. Most of the bathrooms were tiny and uncomfortable. The not so great kitchen I was expecting as there was a picture, but the bathrooms not so much. Hot water ran out while showering which was painful and the power shorted. The good think is the manager was very responsive and helped quickly with issues. Overall, the beauty of the home and property is definitely memorable and made for some nice pictures but not with the hefty price tag in my humble opinion.

The New Dawn Foundation is a holistic health and wellness retreat center that is operated entirely by volunteers. We offer healing workshops, classes and spiritual ceremonies in addition to site rentals for family reunions, non-profit and community retreats. If you are looking for a rejuvenating retreat away from electronics and commercial entertainment, then you will enjoy the peaceful tranquility found at the New Dawn Foundation.

If you want a full-service 5 star vacation rental with game room, video games, televisions, built-in bars, swimming pool and hot tubs, then you should look elsewhere. The New Dawn Foundation does not offer the same amenities as a boutique hotel or resort rental and should not be confused as such.

What we offer is the beauty of our historic house - stained glass windows, wood paneling, sweeping terraces, ocean views, trees, sunsets, sunrises, and a rocky coastline with ever-changing light. This is a place for people to come together for the purpose of sharing and connecting with each other, away from the rat race of modern life. Our property has been used by many spiritual groups for health and healing so the ambiance contemplative and healing.
