Nice apartment in typical Merida neighborhood

Very nice unit in a nice neighborhood. 10 minutes from Merida's Centro and close to a lot of nice restaurants and popular places to visit. Owners are very prompt to respond to any questions or concerns. We enjoyed our stay there.

Getaway to Merida

Merida casa

The hosts were excellent accommodations were spotless and comfortable however the cooking facilities were lacking everything had to be fried boiled or microwaved as there was no oven so it made mealtime difficult.

Good, safe, near to centre location. Well equipped apartment for a long term stay. Parking was very handy Raul & Mariluiz were helpful and responsive to our inquiries although making contact with them earlier would have given us more information about linens and laundry.There are a couple of roosters in a neighbouring property that wake you at 4-5 am if you're a light sleeper. Otherwise bed was comfortable, everthing worked well in the apartment and we enjoyed our stay for the month.

Newer bldg. Nice hood and safe...day and night.

Close to all amenities needed for daily living. Nice restaurants in area and an abundance of reasonably priced Uber transports. Most appreciated was the weekly cleaning and linen renewal. The only criticism would be the single towel that had to last a week. I finally bought a second bath towel to allow the other one time to dry between showers.

One bedroom efficiency apartment in convenient location/Mexico Oriente

Modern efficiency apartment with 2 twin beds in bedroom and a sofa bed in the living/dining/kitchen area. Clean and well kept apartment . Owners Raul and Mariluz are helpful ,friendly and on top of any issues you might have with the apartment. I was there for 2 months and was very happy with my accommodations. The apartment is a few block out of the official centro area and approximately 15 minutes by Uber or taxi to Plaza Grande and "downtown". It was very warm when we were there and it was desirable to use Uber ( 30p-80p for most city trips) or taxi. Public transportation is near by and easy to use. There is a small convenience store across the street and a delightful seafood restaurant a few doors down from the apartment. There is a laundry service a few blocks away ( there are no laundry facilities on site). Right next door is a tienda that sells fruit, vegetables and misc items( bottled water)also a butcher selling fresh meat. AC and ceiling fans were in constant use! I was there in January and February and it was in the 90's most days. I love to walk but it was a bit warm(hot) for walking most days. I was very pleased with the apartment and the delightful owners!! Merida is a wonderful city to visit and there are many day trips to see Mayan ruins .I felt physically safe at all times. Good trip!

Great place to stay in Merida at a reasonable price.

Highly recommend staying here. My husband and I stayed for a week in this quaint condo with the perk of being in the apartment cross the hall from our son and daughter-in-law. Perfect accommodations for our stay. Clean apartment with all that we needed. AC and fans kept us cool and comfortable. Raul and Mariluz were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and walking to the center of Merida (30-45 minutes). The neighborhood was friendly and safe. Access to buses and taxis was convenient. There was a local grocery store as well as restaurant options. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in Merida!

Clean, budget-priced little condo

We almost couldn't believe what a nice little apartment we were able to rent at such a bargain price. Best for us was that we were literally across the hall from a unit rented by our daughter and son-in-law. Raul and Mariluz were great hosts. Our rental car company messed up and we ended up taking the bus to Merida. Raul and Mariluz drove to the bus station and picked us up at nearly midnight. Condo was very clean, AC worked great. We had a fun week in Merida. The condo is about a 15-minute taxi ride to the city center square. Be aware the neighborhood rooster wakes up and lets everyone know at a very early hour.

Wonderful hosts, spotless apartment, quiet location - Fantastic stay

My wife and I have spent a few months (Sept. - Nov.) at Raul & Mariluz's Casa Blanca in the Mexico Oriente neighborhood (one block north of charming Itzimna) of Merida, and cannot speak highly enough of the apartment and its hosts. We found the apartment on VRBO after an extended search for a longer-term housing option as my wife is in Merida doing some short-term work with SEP in the Yucatan. The apartment is located on a quiet street, right next door to a great local restaurant (La Terracita Azul) and a small fruit/vegetable stand. We do not have a car (if you do, however, there is convenient parking located right in front of the building), which has not been a problem at all as there are two bus stops within a block of the apartment. We frequently go into centro for meals, drinks, or cultural events, and it is a brief, 10-minute bus ride directly downtown. We also walk sometimes, and it's a nice 30-45 minute walk through quiet neighborhoods to centro. It is also located a short walk from Itzimna, one of our favorite neighborhoods in Merida, where we frequent an excellent French patisserie, an independent movie theater/cafe with character (Cairo Cinema Cafe), and another cafe with regional coffee beans and small dishes (Cafe Latte). The apartment itself is new and spotless, with air conditioning, tile floors, and a kitchen with a stovetop, microwave, coffee machine, and dishes and cutlery - we cook often and have found the kitchen perfect for our needs. The apartment is cleaned and the linens changed once every week, so the room always feels fresh. The bedroom has an enormous picture window that slides open, the shower always has hot water, and the patio is a great place to have a meal in the evening. As for the hosts, Raul and Mariluz have gone above and beyond in welcoming us and making us feel at home in their apartments. They are responsive, attentive, and stop by every so often to see how we are doing, offer travel recommendations, and ensure our stay is going smoothly. They have invited us over for dinner and been a consistently hospitable presence during our time in Merida - the type of selfless, generous, and kind people that make traveling so meaningful. It's difficult to find a place like this for this price - we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and give Raul and Mariluz's apartment 5 stars.
