Secluded Serenity - Rustic Cabin Nestled in the Northwoods

Unplug and unwind at our beautiful rustic cabin located on 20 private acres with thousands of acres of state land beyond! Enjoy all that nature has to offer! After a long day of outdoor recreation, you can relax in the authentic Finnish wood burning sauna.

Other things to do:
- Enjoy the many ATV, snowmobile, mountain biking and hiking trails nearby, including some trails that can be accessed from the property.
- Public Lake Access is located 1 mile away to Morcom Lake for fishing or kayaking
- Grill outdoors or roast marshmallows over the fire
- Duluth and Cloquet are approximately 45 mins away for shopping and entertainment
- Explore Giant’s Ridge Recreational area located 50 minutes away
- Deer hunting and excellent grouse hunting (a waiver must be signed prior so please let us know if you would like to hunt on the property)

Important Information to Read Prior to Booking:
- There is no running water or bathroom INSIDE of the cabin. **There is an outhouse on site. We also have a high powered well located outside of the cabin to pump clean water for dishes, cooking, showering, etc.**
- The well water is clean but it does contain lots of iron. **We recommend bringing drinking water.**
- It has been an extremely wet season. We have fumigated for bugs multiple times, but the bugs can still get pretty bad at night. **We recommend bringing layers, some bug spray or nets for your comfort.**
- Wood for outside fires and the sauna is provided.
- There is no shower at this time. We do have a camp shower that can be hung up outside the sauna. We also like to rinse off/shower with cold water after a nice sauna session as a way to clean off as well. Get creative!

I didn't ski at all but I gave it 5 stars because I saw all the trails and they looked well maintained! The cabin was just as described, rustic and SO QUIET! It was a great escape from metropolitan life.

Miscommunication, redeemed

This is one of the most incredible places we could ever stay: it's gorgeous, comfortable, well-maintained, and remote. Unfortunately I mis-read the message from the host, and didn't realize the sauna was out of commission. My partner and I had stayed here two years ago, and this was the (sole) reason for our return. We had anticipated a week of isolation and rustic enjoyment, but only stayed one night. To his credit, Travis was understanding and apologetic, and we received an immediate refund. The communication from Vrbo was confusing, but thanks to quick action on everyone's part we were able to salvage something of the vacation we'd planned. Thank you, Travis. Your place is lovely and we appreciate how careful and communicative you are. Hope your sauna's steaming again soon. We will come back.

Winter Wonderland

We have stayed here multiple winters. Love the new stove/oven and wood stove. Fabulous collection of LPs. Enjoyed skiing, playing with the dogs and birding at Sax-Zim Bog.

Perfect Quiet Getway

This cabin was nothing short of amazing. From the drive in to the cabin it was beautiful. We visited when the temps were -15. The fire place was great along with the steamy sauna. They had plenty of firewood for use. The kitchen was fully stocked with whatever utensils needed. Coffee pot, microwave, toaster, and crock pot to use. Plenty of extra blankets if needed. We loved sleeping up in the loft area, it was the coziest spot! We loved that they had board games and books. They had plenty do lights outside, especially leading to the bathroom which was nice. This cabin stay was the perfect quiet getaway we were looking for. If you are look to escape the hectic city life and disconnect, this cabin is the place for you. Thank you for sharing this place with us, we will be back!
