Charming 2-bedroom farmhouse nestled in the woods in welcoming Pilot Mountain.
The hosts for this property are veterans in hospitality, owning and operating an event venue and bed & breakfast since 1995.
There are few reviews on VRBO, because this listing is relatively new to VRBO and often booked outside of VRBO. This wooded property is located a few miles from Main Street, Pilot Mountain, NC. It was built in 1902 and has a rich history. It's cozy and secluded on 200 areas of pastures and woodlands. You will share this space with the Hosts, Bill and Cyndee, who are the only others living on another part of this property.
We will try to make you feel right at home. We are close by but will give you ultimate privacy during your stay. Do not book here if your plan is to invite others in for a party. Four guests are the maximum number of people allowed.
The Farm House, itself, is a mixture of quaint, rustic, romantic, woodsy, contemporary, elegant. Yes, it's all of those things. The decor is a nice blend of 1920s combined with contemporary comfort. You will sink into the down filled sofas for a movie, soak in the outdoor hot tub with a morning cup of coffee, sun on the back deck with a good book while steaks cook on the grill or sip a cocktail by the wood burning firepit. There are TVs in each bedroom and living area if the weather is dreary and you just want to lounge inside.
The house was hand built for those working on the farm over 100 years ago, so the structure has imperfections. The rooms are small but cozy and welcoming. It was built for function rather than aesthetics. But the squeaky wood floors and wood beam ceilings, copper kitchen sink, Depression Era furniture and sounds of wildlife only enhance your experience.
It's perfect for honeymooners or couples wanting to relax, do some day trips, a little sightseeing, hiking, antiquing, lounging. With 1 queen bed downstairs and 2 full beds upstairs, it comfortably accommodates one or two couples. A full bath exists on the bottom floor next to the queen size bedroom. It has a shower for two. A half bath exists on the second floor with the two full size antique beds. The second floor is more like a loft and not condusive for folks who are on the tall side.
The farmhouse features modern amenities like WiFi, Roku TVs, fully furnished kitchen, washer-dryer, deck, large hot tub for under the stars, outdoor Weber gas grill, wood burning firepit with cooking rack and an abundance of wildlife. If you have streaming services at home, be sure to bring your login info with you so you can stream your favorite online TV services.
The Farmhouse is pet friendly and for wildlife lovers; we do not charge extra for hosting your pet. We do, however, limit dogs to two. We ask that only small dogs (20 pounds and under) visit due to the size of the house. We expect you to let us know in advance if you're bringing your fur baby with you, so we can provide towels and food bowls. You will be held financially responsible if your dog chews, slobbers, pees / poops, leaves fleas or excessive fur in the house.
We do caution those who have pet allergies should take that into consideration before booking with a pet friendly establishment. Even the best cleaning efforts do not always rid the air of certain types of dander.
We protect our wildlife so they do tend to come close and will make a lot of noise at night. If you aren't used to it, the night sounds can be alarming. We have it all: deer, weasels, bobcats, foxes, bear, an array of birds and the usually nosy night dwellers like raccoons. No hunting allowed here.
Whether you're exploring the nearby attractions in Yadkin Valley Wine country, nearby state parks, the little mountain towns of Pilot Mountain / Mount Airy, or simply relaxing, our place will help you experience everything country living has to offer. We hope to see you soon!

Über den Gastgeber
Zu Gast bei Cyndee
While the hosts are new to VRBO, they are not new to hospitality. Bill and Cyndee Duprey have been operating Rosa Lee Manor, one of the first wedding venues in the region, since 1995. The wedding venue has included overnight accommodations since that time as well.
Cyndee grew up on the farm and grew up working with friends and family harvesting tobacco, hay, corn, vegetables and tending to livestock. It was hard work but she's never forgotten the fun times shared over farm work with childhood friends. She left the area for a corporate career but finally returned in 2017 with her husband, Bill, to live on the farm once again. Bill is very talented. After some years in the US Airforce as a mechanic, he, too, pursued a corporate career but his love for mechanics never faded. He's a talented carpenter, mechanic, landscaper, you name it. Although he didn't grow up on a farm, the lifestyle fits him like a glove.
Today the farm is more of a "gentleman's farm". Bill and Cyndee are finally able to enjoy the countryside lifestyle without so much of the hard farm work. Kids are gone. They live on the property alone with their many "fur babies", enjoying gardening, landscaping, ongoing restoration projects and sharing in celebrations with newly married couples.
The Farmhouse, itself, has a rich history. Most of the restoration was done by their hands which makes sharing the restored version with you even more special. They hope that you can appreciate the sounds and sights of nature while here and think back on the times 125 years ago when life was harsh but slower and much simpler. Some of the restoration is still in progress.
Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft
Rosa Lee Lane is located in the countryside. However, if you like day trips, we're perfectly located for trips to several state parks: Pilot Mountain, Saura Town Mountain, Hanging Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway just to name a few. We're within driving distance to every vineyard located within the Yadkin Valley Wine territory. We're about five miles from Main Street, Pilot Mountain and a 15-minute drive to Mount Airy, home of Andy Griffith and where the beloved TV sitcom show's storyline was based. Both towns are classic mountain towns full of privately owned shops, music, restaurants, antiques and unique gifts - a fun way to putt away a day of self indulgence.
Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig
The Farmhouse at Rosa Lee Manor originated as a sharecropper house. It was built by hand and is quite frankly imperfect, crooked, kinda rough but cozy.
We love our senior guests, but we are not listed as a disabled accessible property. The stairs to the loft are quite steep. The kitchen and adjoining deck sit higher than the rest of the house, so there are a few steps in unexpected places such as the stepdown from the kitchen into the rest of the house. If you are sure-footed, we welcome you. If not, we may not be the best choice for you.
In the beginning, the residents of the Farmhouse would work on the farm in exchange for free housing during the early 1900s. There was no running water or electricity....certainly no phones or internet. During the Great Depression, there wasn't money for many weddings in this area. Most couples eloped. Some couples from the Hunter family who grew up on the farm would return from their honeymoon to move temporarily into the Farmhouse until they could find more permanent home. Several babies were born here.
The Farmhouse was also used periodically as a gathering place for dances. After weeks of letter writing, folks from neighboring farms would come on horseback or in carriages. The sparce furniture would be removed from the house and cornmeal tossed on the floors to make the floors slick for dancing. There were a few men in the area who could come out of the fields and dance like nobody's business. Sometimes it was square dancing but most of the time it was Appalachian flat footing. Grandpa Hunter was always around to chaperone and make sure there was no "nonsense".
During the 60s and 70s, the house was used as a packhouse for storing cured tobacco until it was ready to go to market. You may catch of whiff of tobacco in the house every now and then. After several decades of just sitting empty, we were finally able to restore it to the cozy little home it is today. We hope you enjoy it.
