The Happy, Hippie Homestead 3BRM Sleeps up to 10
Located minutes from the Mississippi riverfront and Burlington's Historic Downtown, this beautiful old home is spacious and perfect for hosting small intimate gatherings with family and friends. A stay at this property offers its guest a homesteading experience that may include fresh eggs from our chickens, fresh fruit and veggies from our garden, and baked goods like my famous chocolate chip cookies, artisan style homemade breads and pastries.
All dependent upon availability and time of year.
We know that you’ll love this space as much as we do! This gorgeous old home is a two level house with three bedrooms located on the upper level, along with a front loading washer and dryer, master bathroom, which includes walk-in shower, and a long winding staircase that takes you back in time and back to the main level of the house.
The main level boasts a LARGE, beautiful kitchen perfect for cooking and entertaining! But, our favorite part of this property, is our back deck and covered pergola, as well as our garden behind the house. We’ve spent the last five years cultivating the land and growing food in the various beds my husband constructed, as well as through the orchard of fruit trees that align the property.
We enjoy being outside all year round, but the winters can be a little challenging lol! The rest of the time we definitely enjoy the peace and quiet that we’ve been able to create within the space and nature right in the middle of town. I know you’ll love it too!
The back deck offers a wonderful space for entertaining! With the patio furniture, BBQ grill and porch swing, it’s really a great spot for relaxing and enjoying time with family and friends…
You will have access to the entire house during your stay, as well as a small portion of a fenced in yard to use for entry and exit. There’s a good chance you will see my husband and I working in the garden behind you depending upon what time of year you’re visiting us. You may also see our border collie dog named Desi running around in the backyard. Don’t worry, he’s friendly with all people and dogs, and does not have access to your portion of the yard or property. He just wants to say hi.
There is also a very long driveway in front of the garage available for your use. We can fit up to three or four vehicles in that space as well as off street parking.
One of the three bedrooms provides bunkbeds so between them, and the two couches' downstairs, we estimate being able to comfortably sleep up to 8-10 people.
We actually live in the home right next to this house and share an adjoining yard. We can be reached via text, but obviously being in such close proximity are available if you need anything at all during your stay. 
We’ve taken great care to ensure that our home is stocked with all of the essentials you will need during your stay.
In addition to trying to forecast your indoor traveling needs, we’ve also considered ways to help make you more efficient with regard to your vehicle needs when lodging with us. We offer a Level 2 EV charger if needed. Just let us know and we’ll make sure you have access to that garage.
