We were taken with Ambergris Caye. Friendly people, great food and very laid back. Tiffany and Rex (owners) were very accommodating. Out of the blue the dishwasher and dryer both died the same day. One day later we had new ones !! Great response. We will return.
This was our first trip to Belize and our first time renting through Home Away. In past travels we have used other rental companies or stayed at All Inclusive resorts. We could not have been more happy with our stay. The condo was beautiful, The décor was true to the island. Morning coffee sitting on the beach was truly relaxing. Armando the caretaker was extremely helpful and kept the grounds and beach very clean. I will travel back to Belize to the same condo when I get the chance.
This property is very nice. It is large and well maintained. The on site property manager (Armando) is very helpful. The location is south of San Pedro and I would recommend a golf cart. Overall a very good property.
I came here on a girl’s trip a couple of years ago and I loved it so much I brought my hubby back for our anniversary! This condo was perfect. The master suite was very roomy; it had very comfy bed, and a huge master bath. It was very nicely decorated and had a full kitchen. Step outside and you are at the pool and what a great convenient way to relax and just lay by the pool and soak up some sun. The pool was crystal clear and the caretaker was out there every morning making sure it was. We enjoyed some excursions out to sea where we were able to fish, snorkel at Shark-Ray Alley, and take an afternoon boat ride over to Caye Caulker. The views were PHENOMENAL and the locals very friendly. The Cantina across the road was very handy and had excellent food for when we got hungry. I would also recommend a stop at Caliente’s to have Sangria and Ceviche. Best on the Island! The condos private dock was very handy for meeting excursion groups, snorkeling or fishing. What a fantastic trip!!! I would highly recommend anyone wanting to experience Belize to come to this little gem of an island and stay at this condo. PS get a golf cart right up front at the airport – you will be glad you did!
My wife and I stayed at Casa Namaste for 7 days at the end of June 2015. We had never been to Belize before but knew we didn't want to be at a large all-inclusive type resort. We stumbled across the picture of Casa Namaste looking from the porch over the pool to the water and knew it was for us. When we arrived we couldn't have been happier. The condo has plenty of room for 2-4 guest. The master bath is HUGE and the master bed is very comfortable. The AC is not the coldest but you're in Central America...don't worry about it. Just use the fan and you'll be fine.
The pool is great and cool. We lucked out by staying in the off-season...there wasn't another person at the pool all week; it was like our own private resort. The view from the porch can't be beat. it's a great place to have coffee in the morning or hide from the sun and relax.
When you land in San Pedro, the best thing to do is rent a golf cart immediately. Don't waste time/money taking a taxi to the condo and then going to get the cart. There are 2 rental companies right by the airport. The golf cart will run you about $300US for the week and it's a must. You'll need it to get to and from town for dinners, excursions, site seeing, cruising, etc. Just throw your bags on the back and head south...follow the signs to Lonestar Restaurant and as soon as you see it, you're at the condo.
The dock off the property is a great place to relax as well. There are Adirondack and lounge chairs to hang out on. You can jump in off the end of the dock and swim as well.
The food on the island is great. Island Time, just a short drive north, has great food and drinks. Blue Water Grill is good, Hurricane Ceviche bar is great - on a dock over the water. Daniel owns it and his son Josh runs the bar; great people. Daniel will do fishing/snorkel/Lamanati trips much cheaper and likely better than the big companies; go with him and you won't be disappointed. You must each Pupusas; awesome. 2 great places on El Pescador Dr.
Book the trip, stay at Casa Namaste and have a great time.
The condo is nice and out of the way. The inside is filled with beautiful local art and the internet access is good. I love to cook, so having a full kitchen was nice. By the time we left, we were very relaxed.
While the Sargasso grass wasn't overwhelming the beach, walking into the ocean was gross because the sand was mucky. You can snorkel off of the pier and there is life to see, but be careful and wear protection. I wore a full dive skin, but my husband didn't and he had a terrible rash from the sea lice.
In the middle of our stay there was several rain storms that left the pool unusable for the rest of our stay. The nice pool next door was working and they let us use it. (Bonus, it has a swim up bar).
The mosquitoes are relentless, so be prepared. They call it the "Mosquito Coast" for a reason. I went to REI and found the strongest spray I could use. We were all covered in bites. There is a product called "After Bite" and it was helpful. Maybe getting mosquito nets for the beds wouldn't be a bad idea.
We didn't realize that the A/C was broken for a few days. Unfortunately, it was the compressor, so... no A/C for the rest of the time, either.
It is a pretty view, but I wouldn't stay here again.
