The ‘IMI OLA at Kiahuna Beach - Great Location on Kauai's South Shore -A/C
Aloha! E komo mai to our little slice of paradise. Located in the community of Kiahuna Plantation Resort in Poipu, Kauai in Unit 127. Our first-story walk out unit sits on a 35-acre beachfront resort with large rolling lawns, well maintained gardens, and a path that will take you right down to our beach, Hale O I'A Bay/Kiahuna Beach, within a few minutes. From the property you can walk in both directions, perhaps to the Sheraton for dinner or the Ali'i Luau or in the opposite direction to the main Poipu Beach (16 minute walk/3 min drive), famous for snorkeling, sleeping sea turtles and monk seals, and the incredibly delicious Puka Dog (banana and Hawaiian mustard is our recommendation...sounds wrong but it's so good!).
Enjoy the vintage charm of this quant property with its planation shutters that allow the sounds of Hawaii that let the ocean breeze flow through our unit. The lanai is set up for outdoor dining and you can easily sit in the sun or stay protected in the shade. From the lanai, it is a 2-3 minute walk to the beach or grand lawn. On the grand lawn there is towel service for our guests and a nice lawn with chaise lounges or you can take the small stair case to the beach.
Another feature of our property is the full access to the Poipu Athletic Club that you will receive as our guest. The crosswalk is located within 25 yards of our front door. Cross the street with a flashing light crosswalk and head up the marked path to the Athletic club where you can enjoy a pool with slide on one end and a zero/ "beach entry" on the other end for families with small children, play tennis and pickle ball, sign-up for yoga or pilates, lift weights, use cardio machines, and play outdoor volleyball. Definitely a great space for families or those seeking to keep up workout routines while on vacation. Towels, showers, water bottle refills, tennis rackets, and pickle ball paddles are all located at the Athletic club complimentary to guests. The Cabana Bar and Grill is also located there for some good eats or walk back down the path to the very popular Little Fish Coffee.
Also, within walking distance is the Po'ipu Shopping Village with three solid restaurants, a Starbucks (opens early), and many shops. This shopping center takes us 3-4 minutes out the front door to reach. With a car, it only takes a few minutes to any of the above mentioned, including the main Poipu Beach, Shops at Kukuiula with some great restaurants and stores, and the Kiahuna Golf Club. It's a short drive to the village of Koloa for more eatery choices and food truck scene.
Laundry facilities are not in the unit but a $3/load or credit card operated laundry facility is on the property, 7am-9pm.
Cleaning fee is listed under "Host fee" when you check out. This money goes directly to our cleaning partner and not to the host. The cleaning fee is $300 on this property.
Note: As of April 2024, we have updating the unit with new furniture, AC, dinnerware, linens, and other cosmetic refreshes. We are so happy to share our little vacation home and hope you treasure it and this area like we do. Mahalo.

Kauai is so laid back and one of our favorite islands along with the Big Island. Even though Poipu is a busy part of the island we enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the Kiahuna Plantation. Kiahuna has a vintage Hawaiian vibe that we cherish. The screened in plantation shutters are our favorite feature of the unit. It's not for everyone but we like to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing.
