Renovierungen und dringend benötigte TLC / Upgrades sind mit unserer "1. Phase" abgeschlossen; einschließlich ein neues Dach, Abstellgleis, Heizeinheit, neue Möbel und eine elektrische Aktualisierung. Diese rustikale / nicht so rustikale Hütte liegt direkt am Newark Pond. Diese Zwei-Zimmer-Miete enthält ein Doppelbett (Schlafzimmer 1), eine Reihe von Etagenbetten (Schlafzimmer 2) und ein Queen-Sofa / Bett im Wohnzimmer (nicht privat und ein Sofa, das in ein Doppelbett verwandelt). Außerdem bietet die Kabine ein komplettes Badezimmer, eine Küchenküche und eine Terrasse mit Blick auf den Teich mit einem Weber Grill im Freien für Ihren Grill! Bringen Sie Ihre Kajaks und Angelruten und reisen Sie um die Loon Island (ein Naturschutzgebiet) oder genießen Sie einen Besuch in der Hütte der Loons mit ihren Jungen! Fischen Sie und schwimmen Sie direkt von unserem privaten Dock. Herbstlaub und Jagd sind immer ein Favorit in Vermont und die Hütte hat volle Südlage, da sie fast die gesamte Länge des Teiches nach unten schaut! Genießen Sie den Kamin an einem kühlen Abend; Denken Sie daran, Ihr eigenes Holz mitzubringen! Wir bieten WLAN und ein Festnetztelefon nur für Ortsgespräche (wir empfehlen, dass Sie eine Telefonkarte für Ferngespräche mitbringen, da wir keinen Handy-Service haben.) Darüber hinaus bieten wir ein breites Genre von DVDs und Brettspielen für Ihren Genuss. The location is amazing as you can see from the pictures. Morning coffee and afternoon reading on the back deck over looking the pond is something we will miss. TV is limited to a dozen channels but they do have 3 streaming channels if you have a log in. They do provide wifi which is very helpful They also provide a canoe and paddle boat and life jackets. We did not use them because the pondvwas low do to a recent droughtLyndonville is 8 miles away. Whites grocery on Rt 5 is amazing considering the location and there are several decent restaurants. You will do considerable driving on dirt roads. This is a remote area less than 20 miles from Canada

Loon Lodge

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin is just what we expected it to be and was very comfortable. The owners made sure that everything was ready for us to enjoy. I knew it would be spectacular when we heard groups of lions calling across the lake to each other. If you like to fish, I had good luck and caught a couple of beautiful rainbow trout which were released to fight another day. Overall, I rate this property highly and would/will recommend it to others. We’re already looking at next year, same time frame, as we enjoy coming to the “Northeast Kingdom” area.

Leisure on the Lake

Cozy, Comfortable and Captivating. The lake is large, the trees that dotted the coast line gave a serene and surreal feeling. Check-in was a breeze. There are instructions conveniently posted regarding check out.Lisa was a fantastic host. The power went down and once I contacted her she was able to give me an update as to the status. Power was back up in no time My son and I are looking forward to our next visit.

Fantastic Spot

This property is just like pictured. Incredible view and right on the lake. I didn't use the canoe or paddleboat but both were available and would be fun to put out on the lake. I saw 2 moose and 1 bear up at the nearby Silvio Conte NWR which was a big thrill. Really happy with this place.

A rare chance to disconnect

This cabin is located within a few footsteps from a lovely lake with loons and other wildlife. The cabin features a massive fireplace which sets the ambiance on chilly mornings, evenings, or days. It is spotlessly clean with all the amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook. If you want a true getaway that gets you in touch with nature this is the place for you. And if you like to be connected the wifi is excellent. There is a 20 minute walk to a nature trail down to the lake that takes about 50 minutes. Some of it is an easy walk on the road and some is more hilly and rugged on the nature trail. It's a good workout. The entire area near the cabin features all the trails and challenges you could desire. The only suggestion I could make for improvement would be the with the great fireplace it would really be nice if the owner would provide firewood - especially if people are staying in in the cooler months when a cosy fire is really appreciated.

Wonderful host and a stellar property

Lisa Ann is a wonderful host who was very responsive to us. The house is beautifully furnished and well supplied. The location is stunning with a deck a few feet from the water, which provided gorgeous views, and we loved watching the loons swim by! This was our second stay at Loon Lodge but it won't be our last! I can't recommend Loon Lodge more highly for your next getaway!

Picturesque Location

This is our second stay at this lovely cabin. It has quickly become our home away from home and we're already looking forward to a stay next year! While not huge, the cabin is incredibly spacious in its layout. It is nicely stocked with panty staples and quality cookware. A paddle boat, canoe, life vests, fishing supplies, and other outdoor equipment abound. They have already thought of and stashed anything you might forget exactly where you might think to look for such an item. Hosts are gracious and communicative. Nothing about this listing will let you down. I fear giving it such high marks in case it fills up faster than I'd personally like. ;) Enjoy your stay!

Incredible Location!

Loon Lodge is in a very special location! The pond is so beautiful with ducks, loons and a variety of other birds. The water is very clean and great for swimming. The deck is very close to the water and the view of the quiet pond is stunning! The cottage is well stocked with movies, books and games. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. The owner Lisa Ann is very pleasant to communicate with. I hope to go back next year!

Quite a find

Amazingly clean and fresh. Full of interesting additions, like hammock and float and life vests and canoe. Well stocked and comfortable. The scenery is something we'll never forget. So relaxing and peaceful with it being in a lake community. The Northeast Kingdom itself is an amazing playground for lovers of the outdoors.

Quaint Honeymoon spot

Gorgeous cabin as advertised. It was a little past peak season so a lot of things weren't open in town, but there was still plenty to do at the cabin. It was chilly but GORGEOUS. We watched spooky movies, stayed in and cooked for ourselves, did puzzles and just enjoyed the quiet and each other's company. Would definitely recommend 10/10

We’ve been coming to the NEK for several years this was first “peak” week for foliage!! This property did not disappoint! The location was picture perfect and we got the most amazing week weather wise! The Canoe was a plus for sure to explore Newark Pond! Nice place very quiet

Overall a nice, quiet place. Comfortable and well stocked with amenities. Cozy bed. Only negatives were very early checkout for vacation (10 am) with a lot of cleaning before leaving, including wiping out the trash bin.) but the biggest thing was a 24-hour twin led spotlight that brightly lit up the whole backyard, not allowing for star gazing over the lake and enjoying firepiy. No switch to turn off anywhere in sight. Otherwise a nice place.

A Slice of Heaven!

Loon Lodge is an amazing place to stay - I'm leery of recommending it because I want the place all to myself! Seriously, though. It doesn't get much better than Loon Lodge! Gorgeous, both inside and out. There was no light pollution, and we could see the Milky Way clearly. Canoe and pedal boats are great to investigate the lake and Loon Island, not to mention fishing. We caught many smallmouth bass and a couple of beautiful rainbow trout. Kayaks would be fantastic here. Everything you can think of is in the cabin if you forget something at home. Even some stocked groceries if you don't feel like going to town (or get snowed in for winter, haha). We especially appreciated the cookware! When we go someplace more remote, we don't want to have to drive for dinner every night. There was a great selection, and they were in nice shape. Comfy beds and furniture. And we absolutely had a ball with the eclectic DVD collection. Each morning, one of us would pick one as a surprise for family movie time later. What a hoot! Bottom line: staying at Loon Lodge won't disappoint you.

We are the proud owners of Loon Lodge! We have made many improvements to make your stay a very relaxing and comforting one, including a new roof, siding, heating, and an electrical upgrade. Phase 2 of our renovations are in the future and they include "cosmetic renovations" to the older part of the cabin as the necessary/most important renovations are complete.

We rented this cabin for 3 winters and when the opportunity came to purchase it in 2014, we did not hesitate! We also rented it for 1 week every summer and could not wait to get back to paradise.
Come and enjoy our beautiful location.
