Great place to get away

This is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax! The location is ideal, the beach has turquoise waters, and the house is great for a couple. The people on Long Island are great and the hosts Debbie and Philip were very helpful in finding all the great places on the island and providing a great house!

Baywatch Cottage Retirement stay

Debbie and Phil were very kind and responsive. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We highly recommend staying there. It was so quiet and peaceful! Just what we needed after our retirement and move to a new state.

Exactly what we hoped for!

We loved everything about our stay! The house had anything we could've needed and then some. It was extremely peaceful and private, but very easy to get ahold of Debbie if needed. She and Phillip gave us lots of recommendations and info about the island, and even drove to pick us up from the airport when our flight was changed (with beers waiting for us on ice! Lol) Everyone we met made us feel welcomed and safe & we already talked about going back one day with our children.

A Paradise Retreat

"Baywatch cottage was an absolute gem! The location was perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The cottage was well-maintained, clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the ocean from the porch was stunning and made for a great way to start each day. Paradise

Like some of the reviews before me I am hesitate to say just how awesome this place is, I would like to keep this place my little secret. However, that wouldn't be fair to Debbie and Phil (our hosts) and the wonderful people of this island. What a great couples vacation. From the home itself to all the people on the island. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming you will not want to leave TRUST ME. Don't let the remoteness of the island deter you from going you will not regret it.

Outstanding Home and Hosts

The home was in excellent condition and very well appointed. The location is on the sheltered side of the island with a small private beach, which is a great spot for relaxing in the afternoon. There are several beaches on the offshore islands that can be reached by kayak. The home is very close to the Atlantic beaches, a grocery store and a liquor store as well. The hosts were excellent, even going so far as to repeatedly follow up with the local airline which mis-directed our luggage and bring it to us when it arrived. Their help was invaluable in getting our vacation back on track. We can't recommend this home enough for your stay on LI.

Slice of Paradise

Special thanks to Debbie and Phil for allowing us to stay in paradise for 16 nights. This cottage on the water in the center of LI is the perfect home base for exploring the island. The bed is super comfy, the kitchen is well stocked and the AC and wifi work perfect. After each day of exploration we would head down to the dock with a cold one for the spectacular sunsets. An added bonus is the sea life at the dock.......fish, sharks, turtles, etc.... We already miss the people of LI - they are the friendliest and happiest people we've met in the out islands of the Bahamas. Leaving this unbelievable island was not easy.....my wife cried when we left and we are already planning another trip to LI for 2023. Until we return........ Steve & Sharon

An experience beyond the pictures and description!

Debbie and Phil's cottage is perfectly located in Salt Pond (walking distance to the grocery, liquor, marine shop, the Saturday farmer's market and local 'pub' as well smack middle of the island for access to South and North island sights) and on a picturesque stretch of oceanfront that includes a private beach and dock with views of the harbor and sunsets. Your hosts provide you with the perfect balance of attention and privacy as the cottage is located on their property and secluded with a separate driveway and lush landscape. Appreciated amenities and welcoming touches were (very) sharp knives, fresh drinking water, beach towels, toiletries, wifi, AppleTV, landscape lighting (for walking the property and coast at night), guide/information on Long Island. I will definitely visit Long Island again (the most welcoming of Caribbean Islands I've visited) and recommend this cottage to anyone looking for an iconic island getaway.

Loved every minute

The property owners were so accommodating and gracious and made staying in this beautiful cottage like a being at home, only better. They were always willing to help give tips with outings and places of interest and the best eats all while doing things to make us feel welcome. The cottage was beautifully appointed and so tidy and inviting and stocked with all the things to make it feel like home, from hats, and coolers and a well stocked kitchen including many common spices and staples. We loved the dock and private cove as well as the many beaches around the island. Just a beautiful place and wonderful welcoming islanders who were willing to share a laugh and stories when you stopped in for a bite. The food was delicious and the company delightful in every way. If you're looking for relaxation in a beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of a crazy world at large, this is the place for you. Flora and fauna are abundant and there is beauty around every corner Traditional bahamian living with a lot of laughter and a peaceful environment are guaranteed. We loved every minute of our stay.

Our Future Home Island

Sorry for the babbling, but I can't put into words what the experience we had with the house, island, people and most of all the hosts (Debbie and Phillip) of this property. It is our 25th Anniversary and we have spent years going to many all inclusive resorts around the Carribean. Baywatch cottage by far is the most beautiful place we have ever been to. The views are breathtaking, but seeing the wildlife swim by you on the dock was an experience that will be hard to beat. Exploring the island during the day and being shown the exquisite sites by our new lifelong friends Debbie and Philip was an amazing adventure. The beaches are like no other. At night we spent the time watching the fish, sharks, turtles and stingrays swim by. We are sorry it took us so long to find a place like this. It is out of a movie. It is not a question of if we will be back because we already want to book a trip this fall. It sounds too good to be true, we know, but when you go be prepared to want to put roots down on LI. Out of 5 stars... this place is a 10!

Phenomenal!!!!!

This place was the best place we have ever stayed in the out islands. We spent 3 weeks in this paradise. The house was beautiful, clean, and had a great view! The owners were outstanding and let us have our privacy yet provided anything we needed and even spent time with us to show us places we never would have found! We already plan to go back for 2 weeks later this year! We were very impressed with the offerings of the grocery as it was very well stocked. Stores were within walking distance which we did several times as well as a saturday farmers market where you get to meet locals and get local produce, straw goods, and hot sauces. Beaches are pristine and beautiful! Phil and Debbie can offer great recommendations of where to go. Various restaurants range from high end continental cuisine at Chez Pierre to local Bahamaian dishes including fresh conch salad, fried grouper, cracked conch, peas and rice, curried goat, etc.at establishments such as Max's, Seaside Village, and Forest takeaway. Highly recommend this rental property!!! Ease iinto island time and enjoy the stars, moon, and sound of the water!

Beautiful, Secluded, Paradise

My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary here, and we absolutely loved it! The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, secluded, and actually located right on the beach. There is nothing between you and the water, and the beach is completely private. We picked the place because we wanted to get away and have a very quiet vacation, and this is exactly what we got! It did not disappoint, which is why I am giving a full five stars. There are a few logistical things that I wish I had known about (that have nothing to do with the cottage), that would have made our trip better: 1) Most places won’t take Visa on the island. The grocery store within walking distance does, thankfully, but it is an exception. 2) There’s only one ATM on the island and it is not within walking distance. 3) Seaside Car Rental is in walking distance and they were awesome! I recommend renting a car, so that you can see the rest of the island, which is truly beautiful and far bigger than we expected! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, secluded paradise! I’d also recommend that you bring some cash (Bahamian Dollars or US Dollars, both are accepted).

Private Cottage in Great Location—HIGHLY Recommended!

This was our 5th visit to Long Island but our first time to stay at Baywatch Cottage. The instant we walked in the door, we loved the cottage and all of the attention to detail in the decorating elements—from the furnishings and paintings down to the cabinet and drawer knobs! The cottage and grounds are clean and well maintained. The landscaping is lush and beautiful. The outdoor shower is very nice and private, and it even has hot water. We loved sitting on the covered dock and taking a dip in the swimming cove. We enjoyed seeing wildlife, such as colorful fish, dolphins, turtles, lizards, and butterflies. We did not know about the annual regatta when we scheduled our trip, but we had a beautiful view of the sailboats from the cottage and dock. It was amazing how private and quiet it feels, even though it is in the middle of Salt Pond and within walking distance of stores and a restaurant. It is the most convenient location where we have stayed on Long Island. There is a great beach close by, across the main road on the other side of the island, where we could take long walks and find shells. It is the only beach we have found on Long Island where you can actually walk barefooted the whole length of the beach. The hospitality of the owners is above and beyond any that we have ever experienced before. They are very responsive to any needs, yet they are very respectful of your privacy. We give this property our HIGHEST recommendation, and we plan to return soon!

Perfect Engagement Celebration!

This was our first trip to Long Island, and it was perfect! The cottage had the most beautiful views, and we spent every evening outside watching the sun set over the water. Debbie and Phil (as well as everyone we met on the island) were extremely friendly and had great suggestions for things to do, where to eat, and places to visit. It was the perfect place to celebrate our engagement, and we will absolutely be back for the honeymoon!! Couldn’t ask for anything better!

Unbelievable Beauty and Relaxation

We recently stayed at this incredible waterfront cottage in Long Island, Bahamas, and it was truly a slice of paradise! The property is serene with its cozy cove, concrete dock and deck that allowed direct access to the crystal-clear waters, perfect for snorkeling right on the property. The vibrant marine life is amazing and the cottage itself is packed with thoughtful, wonderful amenities that made our stay beyond comfortable. The host was exceptional—personable and incredibly helpful. She struck the perfect balance between being readily available when we needed her and giving us plenty of space to enjoy our vacation privately. Her warmth and attentiveness made us feel cared for while allowing us to completely unwind. I feel like I made a new friend. Long Island is gorgeous! We frolicked on the most beautiful beaches in the world (alone more often than not!), and went snorkeling over and over, seeing thousands of wonderful fish!Beyond the cottage, the Bahamian locals of Long Island truly added to the experience. Their kindness and willingness to help were memorable. They made us feel welcome and enriched our stay in every way.Getting to Long Island is easier than we thought, and was a fun part of our adventure. We flew to Exuma and took the Sheep Runner Ferry, which runs 2-3 times a week. Captain Fox is experienced and very safe. We hope to visit again! It was like a dream come true!

Elegance By the Sea

Just wonderful. Elegant but not luxurious. Elegant in that the Baywatch Cottage is perfectly matched to its location. Simple but tasteful. A classic sea-side cottage. Secluded yet perfectly situated to explore the many hidden, empty beaches sprinkled around the island like a coral necklace. Our own private cove to access the sparkling azure waters to swim and snorkle. All that we needed was there - within and without. Every sunset was an anticipation of a unique display of nature's fireworks - and then we sat thru the afterglow until the galaxy sowed its own fireworks on the night sky. Soft, warm breezes filled the cottage at night. We connected with the place and with ourselves.Simply elegant and elegantly simple.

Debbie and Phillip met us at the airport and brought us to the rental. They were so kind and generous. They shared fresh eggs from their chickens and a bottle of wine as it was Sunday and the stores were closed. The cottage was just as described! Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us!
