Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property had great views. We had a visit from 3 bears while we stayed, while we were preparing dinner. The kitchen and bathrooms were really clean, I appreciate the attention to details in those areas but other areas of the property were overlooked. My daughter spilled her snack in the floor and while cleaning it up I discovered lots of dog hair (I wasn’t aware that the property was pet friendly, my daughter has a dog allergy and had an allergic reaction, it took 5 days to get the reaction under control). The couch also had crumps between the couch cushions, these two things may seem like small complaints but it raises a question about cleanliness in general since we are still in a pandemic. The Mountain View was great but the light coming through the windows due to lack of coverings made it impossible to sleep past 6 AM.

If you really want to know...

If the goal or intent of the review request is to gain feedback on the stay then it should be sent only to the rental management company. That being said, the property was great, however not as clean as last time. Someone had dumped cracker crumbs in between the cushions of the love-seat. They weren't difficult to see - just had to look and there they were. Obviously the cleaning crew didn't look. Not to worry, I found the vacuum and took care of it myself. Dead bugs in the window ledge behind the wicker table. Again, right there for anyone to see - just have to look. If something as simple as inspecting the couch cushions was neglected, then what else was overlooked? Otherwise, everything else was fine. The master bath vent/fan might need some attention. Sounds like it's hitting something maybe? Not sure. It was nice to see the water leaking into the downstairs den from the bathroom above has been fixed and the ceiling replaced. Looks good! WD-40 on the bedroom and bathroom hinges would work wonders. It's on my list to bring next year, just in case you don't get around to it. The lady in the office was kind and cordial, but not very warm. Maybe having a bad day. I didn't take it personally.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed with Mt. Laurel several times (5 or 6 I think) and it's always been great. We encountered a bit of a challenge this time. Upon check in, we realized our hot tub was not working. That by itself is not a big deal. The office sent someone right up and he had a look. He found a particular part needed to be replaced and that part was not on hand but could be ordered. From that point forward, no one really had any good information about when the repair might happen. The next morning we stopped in the office and were told "maybe today, definitely tomorrow." Neither happened. Over the next few days we called a few more times and we just got the run around each time. I really would have appreciated a direct conversation regarding their realistic expectations of when it might be fixed even if that meant telling us that the part would be here too late for us to enjoy the hot tub. Lastly, at check out, I left with the impression that the GM would be calling to discuss further and what not. I was in a perfectly good mood at that point and just anxious to resolve the whole thing. That call never came. This property is beautiful with a magnificent view. It was very clean and comfortable. I just wish the staff had been more direct with me. We'll almost certainly use Mt. Laurel again. We come to the Smokies each year (often multiple times a year.) I look forward to a better experience next time.

We were startled by bears the first night, but had been warned by a previous review. We had bears on our patio every night. We were reluctant to use the hot tub for that reason. We also noticed carpenter ants in the master bedroom around the bed area. Overall we enjoyed our stay because the positives outweighed the negatives. The view was spectacular and the layout was very nice.

Suite Two - gorgeous property

Two lovely large bedrooms and two bathrooms.The house itself was beautifully decorated with lovely pictures and furniture etc. The showers were great and very large.The living areas were fantastic. The main floor had wonderful windows to the front as seen in the pictures and the lower floor was great with a pool table which we all loved and a large tv. If you want a lovely property full of character but don't want the rusticness of a log cabin this is perfect. Very light and airy.Property description was very accurate and it was very clean. Location was fab. Very close to Gatlinburg if you want but closer to the National Park (so you need never know you were near Gatlinburg if you don't want). We used the pool facilities nearby everyday which were great for the kids. Didn't speak to the owner but Mountain Laurel were very efficient. Would definately recommend this chalet. You will not be disappointed. We even used the hot tub which was sparkling clean.....We did walks (Laurel Falls and Grotto Falls), Zipwiring with Climbworks (highly reccommended), tubing at River Rats (fun and easy to do), visited the Mysterious mansion (good fun), did a mountain coaster (Expensive and overrated) and did a few other things. Gatlinburg is massively overpriced. Before arriving in Gatlinburg we stayed in Atlanta and went to Six Flags over Georgia. We bought the most expensive pass (platinum) for limited queuing, spent a whole fantastic day there, did not queue once, went on all the ride, and at $400 was almost the same price, as crazy golf, mirror maze, mysterious mansion, mountain coaster and a few other attractions, each lasting about 5 minutes max, so think about the value. Dollywood may be a better bet for attractions in this area although we didn't visit.We ate in the chalet most evenings. Went to dinner once at ****'s Last Resort, which was g

Mt. Laurel Has Done It Again!!!

We got a late start & was going to arrive late. Called the office & they set me up with simple, easy late check-in instructions. The property was good as advertised & the as a fan of great views & is always a must when we stay in Gatlinburg, this may have been the best we've had. Simply stunning! The cabin was clean & immaculate. Only complaint I have is the wind comes through the chimney & rattles the fireplace door. We just opened the door to settle that issue. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone & would definitely come back. Keep an open for bears. We had 3 small bears one night that prowled around the parking area while we were watching a movie in the entertainment room it it was more entertainment than the show! Then the next night a big bear walked by on the beautiful stone patio & hung out a few minutes. Also a pair of wild turkeys liked to hang out in the mornings. All in all a great time & a great place! MT. Laurel is by far the best place to rent from in the Smokies!

This chalet is owned by the same people. There are many similarities between the two chalets. We loved sitting out on the patio during the day. This chalet is in a very private setting here. There is plenty of room to move around. Parking was very easy and spacious. We did not have a chance to use the fireplace. It was actually too warm the weekend we were there. The people at Mt. Laurel Chalets are ALWAYS very friendly. They make you feel like you are part of "their family". We have been staying with this company for many years. We will 100% stay with Mt. Laurel again! We are already planning our next trip down.

The late check-in was easy, the directions to our chalet were provided and instructions to enter were clearly provided!

Only five minute drives to downtown Gatlinburg and the entrance to the National Park. Very private and quiet setting. Only nit pick would be the owners need to upgrade the patio furniture as you will spend a lot of time on the patio looking at the view.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent a week at Suite 2 and could not have been more pleased with the home and spectacular view. Like others we had a visit from a bear one night while out on the patio, so decided to go inside rather than use the hot tub that night. It may be time to get new outdoor furniture. Would want to book here again if we return to Smoky Mountains.

Reviewer Comments: suite 2 was immaculate, the view was incredible.. wish I could live here full time :) If I had to make one small recommendation, it would be helpful to have some of the essentials in the house (coffee filters, dish soap and sponge, laundry soap, charcoal for the grill, etc.) It's the little things that we forget to pick up and then realize you forgot them and have to run back out down the mountain. Overall though - an awesome experience. We will definitely be back!! oh, and the friendly bear that visited us one evening made the week!!
