Tucked into a quintessential SE neighborhood, discover a custom blend of vintage allure and modern comfort in our moody 3-bedroom, 2-bath home. Featured in Sunset Magazine and more, every surface and system has been redone by the owner, who operates a green building firm, along with local designers and architects, to create a one-of-a-kind curated experience.
You'll be greeted by the neon numbers of this eggplant-black house and a front door that is decidedly modern, tall and skinny, on the small front porch. Step into the living room where the warm palette sets a cozy tone: Eleven-foot ceilings, mahogany wainscot and trim, the tin ceiling and the troweled plaster walls... There is an upright piano, plentiful seating arrangements and an office nook. Unique light fixtures and colors add a touch of personality, casting an enchanting glow throughout the space.
The living room gives way to an open kitchen/eating area where rustic floors meet crisp, locker-like metal cabinets, a marble backsplash, handsomely retrimmed windows. Stainless steel, industrial appliances and a fully stocked kitchen allows you to be the culinary creative you've always wanted to be. The 10- by 10-foot tower allows sunlight from 11 windows facing north and east travel through an open loft space above the kitchen to the main floor’s living spaces. Venture outside to the large patio, a secluded oasis where you can unwind, dine, or simply soak up the ambiance.
Skylights and exposed original rafters are visible in the hallway. A hall wall, covered in white mirrors large and small, throws light and interest from floor to roofline. The three bedrooms are styled with vintage flair, retaining as much of the rooms original molding as possible, and offer a comfortable retreat for a restful night's sleep. The primary room has a King bed and a wash room, or water closet just outside of it. Plenty of storage in the dresser and closet. Around the corner you'll find a whimsical bunk room, outfitted with a Twin bed up top and a Full bed below. The shower room in the hallway has glazed porcelain tile, colored to look like metal, while the glass ceiling pulls in light and reveals the rafters above. Metallic elements mingle with warm woods for contrast. Narrow stairs to a transformed attic nook tucks away a Queen vintage bed, powder-coated cyan blue. The operate skylight window and open rafters create an open yet private feeling and is perfect for a retreat or quiet nap.
Last but not least, cascade your way to the basement -- with the 2nd bathroom, shower room & sauna! A washer & dryer is available for use and an exit door to the backyard is also on this level.

Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the entire main floor, patio, yard, attic and basement area -- except that the laundry machines will be shared with the owner, who resides on a very part-time basis in the completely separate basement studio with its own entrance on the west side of the home. Keep in mind that this home has a studio unit in the basement rarely occupied by the owner. Each "home" is private with locked, secure entry. This well-loved residence is ideal for those seeking accommodation that truly feels like a home away from home.
Our homes are equipped with a starter supply of household and bathroom items including body wash, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. These supplies are intended to get your stay off to an easy start, but we do not restock items during a guest’s stay. If something is missing upon your arrival, we are happy to remedy that though!
We only accept reservations made directly by the guests themselves. Bookings for third parties are not allowed. Your reservation must be made for your personal use and enjoyment. Thank you for understanding and respecting our policy

8 - Spring through Fall is the sugar ant season throughout the Pacific Northwest. Please store items accordingly and clean thoroughly after cooking and eating. Dispose of food waste promptly.
9 - Items left behind can be shipped to you at the cost of shipping + a $30 processing fee.
10 - Excess cleaning may result in an additional cleaning fee.
11 - Violation of house rules may result in eviction and/or monetary fine.
