This home away from home is located near the cute fisherman's village Agia Galini on the South Coast of Crete. The swimming pool of 12 x 4 meters is perfect for cooling off in the hot summer months. The garden is full of plants, flowers, 170 olive trees and a large fig tree. You will also find art around the house as the former owner is a famous American artist. The villa feels secluded in between the mountains but you are still at walking distance from the village.

The villa has two living spaces with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The upper house has three bedrooms and sleeps 5 people. It has access to a small and a large balcony with lounge area where you can host dinners with family and friends or enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the morning with sea view. The ground floor house has four bedrooms and sleeps 7 people. The ground floor has a small patio with pool view. In total the house fits 12 people. All airconditionings have been renewed in January 2024, they provide cooling as well as heating so that the house can be used all year round. For smaller groups, it is possible to rent only the upper floor or the ground floor at a discounted rate. In that case, the pool and washing machine will be shared with any other guests if they have booked as well on the same dates. You might be lucky and have the whole place to yourself!

The house is located on a quiet road that leads into the village. You sometimes hear sheep walking, a dog barking or a rooster crowing in the distance. The village and the beach can be reached on foot (800 meters), (only for fit walkers because of the height difference). You can also reach the village by car within a few minutes.

In the area you can explore beautiful beaches, towns and nice restaurants. Crete is a very large and diverse island and great for road trips. We will share a travel tips document with you after booking.

This great spot is also our own family holiday house, so we appreciate if you treat the property respectfully. We have been coming to this area for many years! We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

We are Emma and Omiros, and we have 3 daughters aged 10, 7 and 4 years old. Omiros is half Greek and grew up in Agia Galini, so we have a special bond with this amazing village on the south coast of Crete. We bought this house in the summer of 2023 from an artist family. We spend time in this beautiful place ourselves during the kids' school holidays. We hope you like it as much as we do. We speak the following languages fluently: Dutch, English, Greek and at a reasonable level: French, German and Spanish. If you have any questions, please contact us by telephone, text message or app. Because we live in the Netherlands, we work with reliable people from the village who do their best to make your stay run smoothly. Omiros' parents have lived in the village for over 40 years. The beaches in the surrounding area are not too busy. The village is relaxing, ideal for families and couples. It's not suited for partying youngsters as there is limited nightlife.

The villa is one of the few properties in the area with such a large private pool. The land around the villa gives you a lot of privacy and you are surrounded by nature. On the other hand, you are very close to the village to get a bite to eat and enjoy the Cretan life.
