Nestled between Issaquah's beautiful Tiger and Squawk Mountains you'll find the Gateway Getaway, your perfect home away from home to base yourself for endless activities and adventures. Featuring epic views of hang gliders launching from Tiger Mtn, the Getaway features luxurious modern amenities with the coziness of a treehouse cabin. Adventure and activities away, trailheads are 2 blocks away and it's a short 1 mile walk or ride to Issaquah's bar and restaurant scene on historic Front St.
The Getaway is a modern 850 sq ft space perched above the hosts' detached garage. It features commanding views of Tiger Mountain, complete with spectacular sunrise views. Surrounded by trees and nature, the space is quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to reset or rest up before another day of adventure.
You'll be inspired to cook with the full size kitchen featuring high end stainless steel appliances, cupboards stocked with pots/pans and utensils galore. A Nespresso machine with complimentary pods is on stand-by to give you your morning pickup. The kitchen bar with stools is a perfect place to post up for a warm cup of coffee, entertain the chef or get a little work done. Finally, we've provided a curated selection of local wines in the unit available for purchase. Salud!
A 4 person dining table is also available for sit down meals. The living room features soaring ceilings, a warm yet modern fireplace, cozy couch and side chairs to watch TV from, read a book in, or simply take in the amazing views. Netflix, Hulu Live, Disney , Paramount + and Amazon Prime are provided for your viewing pleasure.
The bathroom features heated tile floors and the bath/shower combo is fed from a tankless water heater so there is no shortage of hot water for your relaxing shower. Amenities include oversized towels, hair dryer and bath toiletries.
Escape upstairs to the loft featuring a King Sized Casper branded mattress and ultra soft bedding. A pull out twin size bed sits opposite.
Outside, a BBQ on the unit's deck is provided for your convenience and a bistro set at the bottom of the stairs should you want to enjoy some time outside on the patio.
Hiking, walking and mountain bike trailheads are less than a 5 minute walk / 2 minute ride from the front door. Downtown Issaquah restaurants and shops are a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk down a well used walk/bike path (Rainier Trail). Snoqualmie pass skiing is a mere 40 minutes away or pop into the city for a meal, sporting event or show in less than 25 minutes.
If the Gateway Getaway is not available and you are a small party and want to book here inquiry with Kelsey about making a reduced cost to stay at the Gateway House at a reduced rate please do.
In addition to the unit itself, guests are welcome to use the BBQ, outdoor dining area, fire pit and furniture, nd a sitting area in the backyard with Adirondack chairs and a propane fire table has also been provided. The main house, shed and front yard are private property of the Gateway House and we kindly ask you to respect those being off limits.
Our family lives very nearby just two houses away: We'll let you have your peace and quiet but will always be happy to answer a question or lend a hand if something is needed.
We actively maintain the property and the turnovers for the units so there is a high likelihood you will see us during your stay though we do try to do most things while you are not there if we can help it to allow your privacy.
A quiet small neighborhood that is a short walk to town and all tiger mountain hiking trails.
The Getaway is located just 1 mile South of Issaquah’s city center and less than 2 miles from I-90, Seattle’s east / west artery running from the mountains to the sea.
Typical drive time from Sea Tac airport is 25-40 minutes (traffic dependent) and an Uber/Lyft will run you $40-$60 each way (surge price dependent)
Hiking, biking and activities are totally doable without a car especially in the summer months.
The closest bus stop is appx 0.8 miles away and there is a transit center 2.5 miles away.
For hiking outside of Squak and Tiger Mtns, there are literally hundreds of hikable trails within a 40 minute drive of the Getaway.
Closest skiing is 40 min away (Snoqualmie Pass) with Crystal and Stevens running 2-2.5 hours away depending on traffic/weather.
Pets: The Getaway welcomes friendly and well behaved dogs only for an additional fee. The backyard is fully fenced for dogs. Pets are not allowed on the bed or any furniture (we kindly ask you not to book please if your dog is unable to stay off the furniture). Your dog needs to be pet and child friendly. We charge a $100 pet fee for the 2 night minimum but anything beyond that we will charge an additional $15 per day (an additional $10/day for a additional pets) as a separate charge you will see billed seperately. The pet fee should cover use of the space but if its overly dirty there may be additional cleaning costs after your stay requested.
Kids: The getaway is not appropriate for children 6 months-5 years old due to open railings and a fireplace. Specific requests will be considered but are not guaranteed.
Shared Property: The Getaway is connected and on the same property as the Gateway House. You will share the back yard amenities with those guests but have separate entrances and spaces.
Activity planning: There are extensive bike and hiking trails that can be accessed within minutes of the Gateway Getaway's driveway. As a lifelong Issaquah resident, my family and I can help you design the perfect itinerary, whether it be hiking, mountain biking, brewery hopping, concert going or simply relaxing. We're proud of our Issaquah community and look forward to sharing some of it with you.
If you stay more than 28 days we will require a signed lease, background check, and an additional refundable security deposit to be done separately. If the stay is longer than 14 days we will charge a $30 extra deep cleaning fee.
