Traditional Waterfront House

Unser Kykladenhaus liegt direkt am Meer im malerischen Fischerdorf Mandrakia an der Nordküste von Milos. Von unserer Veranda genießen Sie einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Ägäis und haben direkten Zugang zum Meer.The house fits 5. Es besteht aus zwei Etagen und verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer mit jewels einem Doppelbett, eine gut ausgestattete Küche mit einem Einzelbett, ein Badezimmer, zwei Balkone, zwei Verandas, einen gemauerten Grill.
Das Meer befindet sich direkt vor der Haustür, unterhalb des Hauses gibt es einen öffentlichen Bereich ,der zum Schwimmen und Relaxen einlädt.Wir stellen Schwimmschuhe für unsere Gäste.
Neben uns befindet sich eine traditionelle Taverne.
Das Fischerdorf Mandrakia ist geprägt von seinen typischen "Sirmata", traditionellen Schutzräumen für Fischerboote, die in die Felsen gehauen und in leuchtenden Farben gestrichen sind. Es gibt zwei kleine Häfen, eine Kirche und eine Taverne im Dorf
Der nächste Strand 'Tourkothalassa' ist nur zwei Gehminuten von unserem Haus entfernt, die nächsten Dörfer Pera-Triovassalos und Triovassalos 1,3km. Der berühmte Strand von Sarakiniko, der meistfotografierte Strand der Ägäis, ist fünf Autominuten entfernt.

Our stay was great. The place was clean. Voula walked us through the condo and made recommendations on the island map of places to visit and eat. Recommendations were great. We loved the upstairs patio…the view was incredible! The restaurant next to place had great food and wine. Short walk to go in the water. Enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful authentic experience

Such a special experience! The location opposite the lapping waves was magical. Next to the fabulous Medusa restaurant. Upstairs a little hard to get to, but the house was immaculate, hosts great, and super quiet. A great experience!

Magical cottage by the sea

We loved our stay at this adorable cottage by the sea. It was very welcoming and comfortable. The owner Christine was so nice and very responsive to questions about the island. She made some great recommendations for us. Make sure to rent a car to see the island, there are so many beautiful beaches to explore. The restaurant next to the house was absolutely delicious, make sure to have the baklava for dessert, it was outstanding. We just left, but already long to return to this magical island.

Lovely stay in Milos

We loved our stay at this immaculately renovated and maintained cottage. The views were gorgeous and the restaurant next door was lively but never overly loud and disturbing. Not a great fit for anyone with mobility issues but no problem for me and my young adult daughters to navigate the ladder stairs to the upstairs bedroom. Christine was super responsive and wonderfully flexible about check in and out, and her local helpers were lovely. I really appreciated that they went the extra mile to procure portable beach chairs, which we made great use of around the island. Highly recommend!

My husband and I (62 and 58) had a wonderful stay in Christine and Ioannis' beautiful home. We felt we were in a home away from home. Christine was very welcoming, easy to communicate with, so helpful with recommendations and all in all made us feel very much at home. Stunning location, right next door to a wonderful taverna. Initially we thought this might keep us awake but not at all, closed the windows and had air con on and slept soundly. We loved the different places to sit outside, some private and one where you could watch the world go by. A very special spot, we will definitely return. Thank you

The perfect getaway

My husband and I absolutely loved this home. We were warned how close the restaurant was to it but we’re still surprised at HOW close. But it really didn’t bother us at all. It seems we were also on a tourist list as Justin Beiber had been to this restaurant so about mid-morning people would start walking by in front of our porch seemingly searching for something. Maybe him? We enjoyed breakfast there every day overlooking the sea. There was complete privacy, however, on the upper deck which had the same gorgeous view. The upstairs bedroom is beautiful but it should be noted that the ladder hole is in a very surprisingly dangerous spot. I would definitely close it at night for safety reasons. Communication was great and Voula was very helpful with suggestions for us. We loved Milos and discovered a new beach every day. Be sure to visit Plaka for dinner or shopping or just experiencing the vibrant area. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us.

A lovely getaway

We loved our time in this traditional house with an incredible view. Waking up to the sound of the sea was the perfect way to start the day. The photos and description are accurate...this place is perfect for couples. Communication was great too! Folks with mobility issues should note that you reach the primary bedroom either by ladder from the kitchen or a staircase outside the house.

Emplacement de rêve, 2 terrasses idéalement placées face à la mer. Bain de mer au pied de la maison lorsque la mer est calme ou légèrement agitée. Merveilleux endroit pieds dans l’eau

Séjour d’une semaine parfait dans cette belle maison, très bien équipée, au bord de l’eau et au cœur d’un petit port idyllique. Hôtesse charmante et toujours disponible pour donner de bons conseils et compléter l’équipement de la maison si besoin. Excellent petit resto à côté (Succulents poulpes, anguilles, maquereaux...) qui sert les plats directement sur la terrasse !!! Allez-y les yeux fermés. On recommande vivement.

Just wonderful!

We stayed in Christine’s adorable home for 6 nights in June 2019. Christine is a genuinely lovely, hospitable person who went out of her way to make us comfortable and welcome, helped us arrange a fantastic boat tour, and checked in regularly to make sure we were happy and well. She had great recommendations for beaches and activities, and kept us stocked with clean towels and essentials. Milos is incredibly beautiful and unique. This house and its location were perfect, and we especially enjoyed the beautiful upstairs balcony and outdoor shower. We explored the entire island and everyone agreed we stayed in the best spot. Five minutes to Adamas, 10 minutes to Plaka, and so much to explore on foot. We also floated many evenings in the sea in front of the house. Don’t miss the bakery near the gas station and grocery store! The taverna next door is very close, and at first we were a bit concerned about the noise and crowd. But then we ate there and met the staff, who treated us so warmly and served the best food we ate on the island. They always made space for us at the restaurant, even when it was busy. One night, I walked over in a wet bathing suit to order takeaway and returned to our home patio with an ice cold bottle of wine and dinner delivered to us within 10 minutes, piping hot, on real plates. We were sad to leave Milos and will try to return! We would stay at Christine’s home again in a heartbeat.

THE PLACE TO STAY ON MILOS!

Christine’s seaside home is exactly as described, and even more! Photos show the place as it truly is... beautiful. Christine is a super host, in every way. She answered emails promptly, met us at the airport to transport our luggage, gave us fantastic info on local sites and restaurants, and took great care of us for anything we needed during our five night stay. We were there as two couples, and we couldn’t be happier with our stay, and hope to go back some day! There is a fantastic restaurant next store, called Medusa’s, with amazing food. We had several dinners from them right on our own outdoor dining table! We were concerned the restaurant might be noisy, but even though it’s busy all the time, it was just fine. They don’t play music there, so it’s very quiet. The home has been recently decorated and is just lovely. Air-conditioning in bedrooms makes sleeping very comfortable, and we loved the upstairs patio. The other benefit to this house is it’s central location, although you do need to rent a car, as the village of Mandrakia is just a small, quaint, fishing village. Everything, though, is a short drive away, from beaches, to groceries, to many beautiful sites. We would definitely highly recommend Christine’s place!
