Perfect place to stay! Easy access to the beach and so many dining options close!! The unit was just awesome, perfect for my husband & I. There's a comfy boho vibe along with the Thai inspiration! The kitchen is well appointed and has all the necessities. Our host was immediately responsive and communicated well. 1000% recommended!!

Very cool little beach spot. The decor adds to the beach feel. Hot water and comfy bed. Nice little touches like beach towels. It has a very cozy feel. The parking is a bit tight, but in san diego, everywhere is tight parking. I was able to fit a 16' ford mustang in the spot, the key is just to reverse in and be careful. Id definetly stay here again. Steps from the beach.

Perfect place to stay

Wonderful location. Right by the beach with tons of shops near by. The place was clean and the owners were quick to respond. Having a parking spot was a huge bonus, but wouldnt fit a large vehicle easily. Would stay there again!

Great Location

50 steps to the sand, 50 steps to restaurants and cafes. Can’t beat the location. Easy to check in/out. Great for a weekend getaway. Unit was exactly as described. Rex is a great host. Definitely recommend.

Cute cottage in great location

The location was primo. The bed was super comfortable. (Warning: if both partners need a nightstand for personal effects, this set-up probably won't work for you.) One huge factor was the dedicated parking space, since parking is very limited in Mission Beach. But there is plenty to do in this area without a car. We really enjoyed using the bicycles included with the unit. There are tons of great restaurants within walking distance, which we enjoyed. But the kitchen is also well set up, so we bought some groceries and ate one meal each day at home. All in all, this unit was a great launching spot for an awesome visits to San Diego, and a great place to put up our feet at the end of an eventful day.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but future renters need to be aware. The listing states there's a "designated parking spot" — this is extremely misleading. The so-called space is located in an alley, only suitable for a golf cart or a very small compact car. There are red lines painted on both sides of the alley, and if you have a standard-sized vehicle, it's nearly impossible to fit without crossing them.We spent over 40 minutes circling the neighborhood looking for off-street parking, but found nothing. We could not stay at the property and ended up getting a hotel instead. I contacted the property manager, who sent a photo of the tiny spot, which only confirmed what I had already experienced — my car wouldn't fit. I explained that we had no way to park and couldn’t stay at the property. He responded by saying I could receive a refund if someone else booked the unit, which of course never happened. I was never refunded.Additionally, there is a posted California safety code warning outside the property stating that chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects are present. This is a serious concern that should be disclosed in the listing before guests decide to book.Between the parking situation and the lack of transparency around health warnings, this was a very disappointing experience. I hope the owner updates the listing to reflect the true parking limitations and discloses the chemical warning so future guests can make an informed choice.

Angie came around midnight and decided not to try to use the parking spot. We have had guests with full size trucks (Ford F150) park in the spot. It is an odd shaped parking spot but if guest follows the instructions in house manual, no one has a problem. Despite the late check in time, I responded to her immediately encouraging her to go ahead and use the spot but she had already left. Guest booked a hotel and wanted a refund so I suggested she cancel the reservation which would free up the dates for others to book, in which case I could refund her money. She did not cancel the reservation, instead left the unit empty while she stayed at the hotel. Re the signs, I have no idea what she’s referring to.

EASY PEASY location is perfect. Property is exactly as described. Super clean and super comfortable. You are in the middle of beach life....not much quiet time. Groceries can be found across the street. The Olive is on the corner..Great food and great coffee. We rented bikes from the guy downstairs. Rode up and down the boardwalk. He was awesome! Things were still pretty quiet in early March....But it is clear that warm weather would make this neighborhood explode. Again, like others have mentioned, the parking spot is tight. Were we in a Honda HRV...it fit with some geometry. Best part: the bed and the linens. OH. And the hanging chair thanks Rex!

Mission Beach is incredibly special for the following reasons: At any given time, you're one block from the Beautiful Pacific Ocean and San Diego's famed and exciting boardwalk AND Peaceful and Gorgeous Mission Bay. It's the best of both worlds. Also, Mission Beach has Belmont Park and is just south of Pacific Beach and La Jolla, so a bike ride north or south guarantees a plethora of great restaurants, bars, shops, and scenic views.

SAWADEE is a mini trip to one of my favorite destinations: Thailand. I carefully selected and shipped authentic artifacts from Thailand for this unit. It even has a huge 3D iconic Thai tapestry that I brought back from Thailand on my first trip with my parents in 1984. In addition to the decor, I made a huge effort to make the unit super comfortable and have all the amenities. Oh, and having a dedicated parking space in Mission Beach is awesome!
