Great hosts, unfortunate business transaction
Home: beautiful, fully stocked, thoughtful touches.
Booking: process was not great. We booked and the home was already occupied at the time. Hosts were able to work things out to get the occupants out of the home and promised to refund us for days we paid for but couldn't stay.
Cleanliness: Going into the home I can tell it was deep cleaned and nice fresh linens, but the prior tenants had dog, and the hair was in everything. We did not stay for the first week because of this, and the allergens that it caused. We asked if we could remove the rugs, which helped tremendously and we didn't sit on couches. The hosts were gracious to turn one room into a playroom/den where we could relax with our little ones.
Checkout: we had unforeseen circumstances and had to leave in a big hurry, 3 days early. We were unable to tidy up but removed everything and had our own personal cleaners there weekly, so it wasn't too bad. Owners caused a big fuss for things such as diapers in the trash; considering it "unsanitary" (where else are diapers supposed to go?) they kept the hundreds we paid upfront, due to them double booking. I don't believe they ever intended to refund our money because I asked multiple times. We're now working with Vrbo to get the refund we are indebted because withholding money due to a property being lived in by a family with two babies is wrong and not against VRBO rules. We're already in unfortunate circumstances with our home flooding and he capitalized on that.
