Diese Hand gebaut Kabine ist privat auf 50 Morgen Kiefernwälder in den Adirondack Ausläufern gelegen. Die Kabine verfügt über eine heiße Regenwasser Dusche und Waschbecken; Solarstrom für die Lichter und ein Holzofen. Hier finden Sie eine Propan Kochherd innerhalb und einen Grill (Propan), die außerhalb zu finden. Benannt Mountain Laurel ist die Kabine an der Spitze eines Hügels, mit schönen Schatten spendenden Bäumen, kühle Brise und einem tollen Blick auf die Pinienwälder. Es verfügt über ein Queensize-Bett im Hauptwohnbereich und einem großen Bett auf dem Dachboden. Ein Essbereich ist auf dem Mainfloor mit einem Holzofen mit einem Bildschirm, wie ein Kamin funktionieren kann. Erleben Sie kühle Brise den ganzen Sommer lang auf dem Full-Size-Veranda. Der Laufsteg aus dem Dachboden führt Sie zu einem Balkon mit schöner Zehn-Meile Blick. Wir sind in der Nähe befindet, zuzugreifen, um Punkte für ATV und Snowmobile-Trails. Zahlreiche Seen sind nur eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt für Kajak, Kanu, Schwimmen und Angeln im Sommer. Im Winter genießen Sie Langlaufen, Schneeschuhwandern, Wandern und Schneemobile. Great getaway in a beautiful area
This cabin was everything we hoped it would be and then some. The cabin was clean, ingeniously built by Rick himself, and very well appointed. You can tell a lot of love went into building this sanctuary. The outhouse was surprisingly a highlight of the trip. It's really clean and nice and so close to the cabin. You can leave the door open and look out at the woods while you're in there. It's surprisingly pleasant! There are also solar powered lights and motion detectors outside so finding your way to it in the dark is not a problem. The rainwater collection system that allows for hot showers and running water below the cabin and in the outhouse is ingenious. It allowed us to take hot showers and wash dishes and yet be completely back to nature at the same time. We're looking forward to coming back in the winter to experience it all in the snow.
We stayed at the cabin for 3 nights, arriving late at night, and had no trouble finding it thanks to Maria's directions. There is cell service there and Rick and Maria were easy to reach and communicate with and explained everything we needed to know about the cabin. We were lucky enough to meet them and get a full tour of the property.
On the first day we stayed put for most of the day except for a trip into Croghan for some ice cream and supplies. We'd brought a cooler of food and cooked in the cabin. We did bring our own dishes and silverware but there were plenty of pots and pans and measuring cups and spoons. We loved making a fire in the wood stove and out in the fire pit. Our daughter loved digging in all the sand that's on the property. It's a geological wonder so if you have kids, bring them sand toys.
The second day we took a 60 minute scenic drive mostly on a dirt road to Old Forge thanks to the directions that Rick and Maria had left in the booklet of activities. Google would have taken us on a circuitous route that would have taken closer to 90 minutes so we were grateful for the hand-drawn map. Canoeing or kayaking on the Moose River looks like it would be amazing and we look forward to going back and trying that another time. We also want to go back to go to the gorge and the reservoir and falls. Somehow 3 nights just wasn't quite long enough. We'll be back!
This cabin is the definition of "getting away from it all." With 4 adults, a toddler, and 3 dogs, we loved every minute of our time together. It is our 2nd stay at the Kings Pines, our first at thier smaller cabin on the other side of thier 50 acres. We will be back! Thank You Rick and Maria!
My friends and I were looking for a quiet getaway to the country and this cabin fit the bill. It is an amazing cabin, very well built and about as well appointed as you can get for a rustic experience. We were able to cook meals over the fire and using the grill. The rain water shower has a water heater as well, so you can stay refreshed and comfortable. I would recommend bringing some cast iron cookware if you want to cook your own meals.
If you're looking for a small family rustic getaway, or a getaway for 3 adults (4 if couples) then I can highly recommend this cabin. The area around the cabin is quiet, with enough nearby points of interest if you want to see some sites, do some fishing, or go hiking. I recommend Stillwater Resevoir. We spent a day on kayaks in the reservoir and it was wonderful. Peaceful, quiet, good fishing, and plenty of area to explore.
Our family had an amazing time at the cabin. We loved the simplicity of it as well as the accomadating touches that were left all around the grounds for us to enjoy. The owners promptly responded to any questions we had regarding the cabin. We loved the rain shower and especially enjoyed it since it was 90 degrees everyday we were there. We enjoyed Mr. Wishys Ice Cream Stand a lot!!!! We hiked Whetstone Gulf State Park and visited Stillwater another day. We will definitely be returning!!!
If you're looking to get off the grid and out into nature to hit the reset button for a few days / weeks, NO MATTER THE TIME OF YEAR, but aren’t necessarily looking for meals out of a pot, a pair of sore legs and feet and nylon accommodations, there's no need to look any further than this beautifully and meticulously crafted Mountain Laurel Cabin.
My wife and I sneak away with our pup for Valentine’s Day each year and seek nature and solitude with as few modern distractions as possible. We found everything we were looking for and them some with Rick and Maria’s place. From the get go Rick and Maria were kind, accommodating and informational, and made sure we were comfortable with every detail of the cabin, from gas and wood stove operation, instructions for the water system, to feeding the animals who stroll the property!
If you’re worried about cold, food storage, fuel, security or “roughing it” worry not, from the minute we got to Croghan it was F’ing cold. It was so cold the night of Valentine’s day that upon waking up and not being able to light the cook stove, I learned our propane had frozen in the tanks! Despite this the cabin was extremely comfortable, and we made coffee, bacon, eggs, toast and taters on the wood stove until we could thaw the propane. The cellar below the main living area is perfect for food storage. There’s plenty of propane and if you do need fuel the convenience store is close by. The property gets a strong cell signal which can be very comforting and great to play music. In terms of roughing it, I’ll put it this way, my wife actually enjoyed using the outhouse, which is heated, and we were able to take warm showers in -10° F temps, which feels like a sauna at that point! We also cooked in the cabin every night by candlelight and oil lamp and prepared meals you’d expect to see in a restaurant, with a much better ambiance of course!
Without getting into the narrative of our stay which was, to sum up with one word, magical, I will simply say that this cabin transforms into this cozy little nook in the middle of the snowy frozen pine forest, and at night, as the sun sets over the pines, the temperature plummets, and the cabin starts to glow from the oil lamps and candles, all you want to do is hunker down with a nice warm beverage and those you’re with, and exist right there in that tranquility, everything else melts away! I’d do this same trip again in a heartbeat, so don’t book this weekend!
