Worst travel experience ever!
We checked into the unit and discovered the AC was broken. It was May in Florida and the room was over 80 degrees. I called the customer service number listed and was given attitude by the representative who couldn’t give me any information or timeline to when it would be fixed. I called a total of 6 times that first day and was greeted with a rude non empathetic representative each time. Each time I was told someone would call me right back with an update and they never did. We ended up having to sleep (well we got zero sleep) in a condo that was 83 degrees and had no ceiling fans or anyway to create any air movement. It was absolutely miserable. The AC repair man finally got there around noon the second day and had to do some kind of welding work on the unit so the whole place reeked of fumes. The AC finally started working after almost 2 days/night of having no air. When I called for a refund the reps at Southern vacation rentals gave me attitude, refused to transfer me to a supervisor, and hung up on me twice. When I finally did speak to a supervisor 2 days later they fought me on the refund claiming they couldn’t issue it because we still stayed in the unit. It was absolutely insane! I spent the whole “vacation” battling the company who owns the rental. It was a horrific experience. DO NOT BOOK SOMETHING OWNED BY THIS AWFUL COMPANY, they treat their customers like garbage.
